Morning!!
It's closing day!! Yay new house!!
We're meeting a contractor at our old house for some paint work the FHA is requiring before they'll approve the aporaisal, so that closing was pushed back to the 30th.

Nothing big going on over here. Another busy day at work and then very limited weekend plans. I really just want to take it easy and have a low key weekend. Lately the baby has been pushing into my lungs and I've been having bad pressure down there. All of that combined really just makes me want to lay on the couch and be lazy...

mkrupar Congrats on closing! Yay! You are almost done with the buying/selling process. Hoping the 30th comes quickly for you! We had a pretty decent day. My nose is running like a faucet and the netti pot isn't really helping a whole lot. I will be really happy when this cold runs its course. Every time I blow my nose I am terrified I'm going to break my waters! We have a birthday party to go to tomorrow, so if my nose dries up, I'm going to put on surgical face mask and go with DH and DS (so I don't get anyone sick). The face mask thing is pretty common here, and the party is for a Japanese kid (even more common in that community)...so I bet it actually won't get much notice. The kid and his family are moving back to Japan at the end of this month, and I'd really like to make it. He is one of DS' best buddies. Cooperate nose!

mkrupar, congrats on the house! Exciting but also stressful I'm sure! It occurs to me today that DS's 4th birthday is coming up in a few months and I've done literally no planning. No bueno. I want to have it at a local venue this year instead of at our place which i'm sure will be covered in baby spit up and dirty diapers by that point.

mkrupar congrats! bootsorhearts1 you just reminded me that I need to start planning DS's November birthday party. Today is my last Friday off for the summer. Dropped DS off at daycare and went to Target. If you buy 2 big boxes of diapers you get a $10 gift card. Now I'm waiting for my OB appointment. Planning to go to CVS and AC Moore after the appointment and work on the nursery this afternoon. H is working from home today so we're going out to lunch. Just trying to be productive on this rainy day.

mkrupar Congrats on the new house! thatgirlrachel We are have had a busy week too and are planning a low key weekend. I'm currently planning my menu. I'm so tired today, worked on my budget and caught up on Masterchef this morning. I have a massage booked in an hour, I'm so looking forward to it.

Anyone else in the path of totality for the solar eclipse on Monday? Everyone around me has viewing plans and I keep hearing on the news and radio about the expected traffic flooding the area this weekend, etc, etc, -- and I have to work because I need my days for Maternity Leave. I think it is going to be pretty quiet in the office - I should be able to go outside for a while and watch. Hopefully.

Lots going on today. We have roofers coming in a few mins to fix our leaky roof. I'll be needed outside soon with the landscapers as they're getting ready to place big boulders to built our fountain and DS should be back soon from his am walk. We let him sleep in this am from his lack of sleep last nigh and plus also I slept an extra hour too. Not sure what we're doing this weekend.

Congrats, mkrupar! CoachTsWife, hopefully you can step out of the office to watch it. MIL and FIL are traveling south to camp out and watch the full eclipse but if I were you, I'd stay as far away from the crowds as possible. DNW to be stuck somewhere.

We ordered DD's glasses today. She should get them in about a week. Once I got them on her she didn't want to take them off so hopefully that trend continues with the real ones. I'm working from home this morning then heading to a local coffee shop this afternoon for a change of scenery. This weekend we plan on watching the air and water show (probably just the air part - since the crowds will be crazy for the water part). The planes typically practice for two days before the actual event so I asked our nanny to report back on if DD was scared of the practice runs or not. She wasn't! So hopefully tomorrow will be a success.

Yeah, I just have some FOMO over it, I guess, since it is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I definitely don't want to be stuck in massive traffic/crowds, but at the same time watching from our parking lot seems lame.

DS is fully embracing the idea of terrible twos today. We have had full on tantrums over what snack he got at the grocery store, which cart we took, putting his sandals on, and worst of all, me putting on my slippers. So we are watching Sing so that i don't lock him in his room and run away forever.

Just got home from our vacation! Pooped from the 4 hour drive home, but glad to be home for sure. I like that it worked out that we came home on a Friday this year so that we have still 2 days of weekend before going back to work. We need to make use of all the weekend time we can manage to prep for baby #2, since we've basically done nothing up to this point.

I just noticed that baby has turned completely around in my belly from a week or so ago. Before, his booty was on the left with arms/legs sticking out the right side. I was just rubbing my stomach and felt his butt/back on my right side and then felt either a foot or hand sticking out of my left side. I can feel it clear as day. I guess that explains all of this moving he's been doing lately. CoachTsWife, We are expected to get 92% coverage. A few departments on our campus will have glasses/telescopes/etc. that we can use to safely view it. I wasn't planning on partaking, but I may have to go see this while I have the chance. trinitrotoluene, I'm sorry your DS is toddlering today. Those days are so hard, esp while pregnant!

At my appointment this morning I told my dr that my insurance requires a prescription for a pump this time around. He went ahead and filled it out while I was there (like everything else it's all electronic now). I must be the first to ask for one because he was narrating as he was filling it out, "prescribe new medication? well not really... ok looks like I can just enter something, ok breast pump. Use? Um, to supplement breastfeeding. Ok. No. Is it a controlled substance?? Uh, no..." lol

Schools are closed and daycare is closing at noon, but I'm just going to keep DS home that day. We haven't bought any glasses yet, though. We may just go outside for the 2 minutes of totality. I doubt DS would keep the glasses on for any length of time.

Hi! Today was the last day of our church's vacation bible school! I made it through leading my preschool group for the week and DD loved it! Going to ikea tonight to pick up a shelf and bins for toys and probably will end up eating out tonight too. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend and then 2 more weeks before back to work!

One more week to get through until my vacation. I haven't had time off work since October and that feels like 5 years ago.

It shall pass but I hate to break the news to you, I rather have the terrible 2s than the terrifying 3s. Who ever came up with the terrible 2s did not meet a 3 yr old. 🤷🏻♀️ We're gobsmacked in the middle of it now and I'll take a 2 yr old back anytime. 🤦🏻♀️
