Good morning! We are on staycation this week, so we've had lots of Rowan time! ❤️
1. We were at IL's yesterday and my Minnie (&friends) obsessed daughter had two Mickey dolls and kept giving one to her cousin Lola (15m). Lola didn't really care about Mickey so she took it from her then threw it down as soon as Rowan turned her back. Whenever Ro noticed Mickey on the floor she picked it up and screamed Lola's name over and over until she took Mickey back.
2. We went swimming yesterday and had so much fun! Once she got used to the water, anyways. 😂 Watching her play and explore is so much fun! I don't think it'll ever get old.
4. Biting. But really it mostly a problem for DH because he reacts dramatically so it's funny to her. He get bit way more often than I do...
Qotw: As much as I loved it as a kid... Rocko's Modern Life!

Hi ladies! We're at the beach this week.
1. She's really into "the ants go marching" song this week and has been marching all around the house singing it. 2. She's been more cuddly this week and will hold her arms up me and say "mommy holdee pwease". I love it. Snuggle bug. 3. With so many people around there's lots of distraction and over stimulation which leads to temper tantrums. 😬

1. Nathan poured some milk out on the table and the following conversation occurred: Papa: "No, Nathan, we talked about this, you don't do that. You made a mess. Who is going to clean that up?" Nathan: looks sad, then pensive, then his face lights up as he looks for me and smiles and points, "Momma!"
2. At the dinner table he will say "cheer! cheer!" - it means he wants to clink glasses. Afterwards he looks so proud of himself!
4. toddler mood swings.
QOTW: We aren't to that stage yet (under 2 so we're trying to do little to no screen time) so I don't really know what's still around or not!

Thanks mellyknu can you add me? Alexa born July 13, 2017 She is 5 weeks old. She's gained 3 lbs since birth and is a good sleeper at night. During the day it's rough. She has bad enough reflex where she eats, spits up a lot, cries, then is hungry. This cycle lasts for hours if not all day. I hold her upright for 30min+ after eating, she's on zantac, shes in the rnp during the day. Nothing works. BFing makes the reflux worse so I've been mostly pumping but many days I have to go 5 or 6 hours in between because she won't give me 15 mins to do it. Pumping is getting stressful and I don't have a great supply, especially on 1 side. I only pump 4 times a day and nurse once usually. It's frustrating.

nikiswims, I'm continually impressed with her language skills! Rowan's vocab is pretty extensive, but she's just starting to play with stringing words together and I feel like E has been doing it forever! DrHooch, I'm dying at your funny story! yoshijo, I have you on the list for next week! I'm sorry you're struggling with BFing/pumping/reflux! I never attempted to pump when Rowan was awake and I can't imagine it working out well if I had! Be kind to yourself. This shit is hard!

I have two little ones now. C my daughter is 15 months (May 2016) and my son J is almost 3 weeks (July 2017).
J is still figuring the world out but his big sister is hilarious. She figured out how to give kisses this week and Chase's the cats trying to love them. She still doesn't understand sleeping as in leave the baby alone when he is but we are working on it.

Organizational question:
Now that I've opened the check-in up to all ages, some moms will be checking in with multiple kids. Should I continue the tag list as it is and add entries for each birth month (so some moms will be listed 2-3 times)? The other option is just listing each mom once with kids and birth months listed below.
What say you, SAIF?

1. What hilarious thing(s) did your little do this week? He was playing with a ball and dropped it and it rolled between his legs and behind him. He followed it's path with his eyes until his head was on the ground and he was staring behind him. He started laughing hysterically at himself while his head was still planted on the ground. 2. What made you go aww? We went to an outdoor concert with our BFFs and our goddaughter. MB was "dancing" with my BFF and fell asleep with his forehead pressed against her forehead and his mouth wide open. So flipping cute. 3. What had you cheering them on? He has been feeding himself amazingly well with a fork and spoon. He's so damn proud of himself! 4. What made you want to crawl back into bed? Yesterday was brutal. DH had arbitration for work, I had my first day of inservice, and Meatball had his first day at day care. My mom works there and said he sobbed for two hours straight It just killed me. mellyknu, It's seriously the best to watch them experience new things! nikiswims, My heart is melting over the song and all her snuggles! DrHooch, The glass clinking is just ridiculously cute. yoshijo, I'm so incredibly sorry for how stressful pumping and bfing is right now. Be kind to yourself. It can be so hard and frustrating. I had pretty lousy supply and MB wasn't gaining enough weight, and I remember just being so stressed and overwhelmed with the whole thing. Just keep reminding yourself that you are doing great, you are an amazing mama, and this too shall pass. Also, I hope so much that her reflux eases up. yellowcat, It's got to be so awesome to see her in the role of big sister! (Even if she doesn't quite get the whole "never ever ever wake a sleeping baby" concept...) mellyknu, Not a strong opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. But if it isn't a super PITA, I sort of like the birth month organization. My brain just connects to the ages better that way. (But serious grain of salt. I think my brain tends to be the opposite of everyone else's!)

shananagins, I'm dying at your funny story, but my heart is breaking at him crying for two hours! 😢 RE: organization, I think I prefer it that way, too. Like you, my opinion on it isn't super strong, so I figured I'd take SAIF's temp on it.

yoshijo, oh, do I remember. Nathan had a tongue tie that wasn't diagnosed and corrected until he was 3 months old. By that point our bfing was so screwed up (and my nipples were so sore) that we switched almost exclusively to pumping for about 6 months. Pumping while caring for your child is freaking impossible. There just isn't enough time in the day. He would nap for 30 min stretches if I was lucky, which was barely enough time to pump, so I got nothing else done. And he had reflux (though not as bad as yours, it sounds), and when he would spit up all of that hard earned liquid gold and then be hungry it would be all I could do to not cry. I am so sorry you're going through this. A few things that helped me: - make sure you have a good pumping bra that you can wear all the time so you don't have to change to pump - these things changed my (pumping) life: www.amazon.com/Pumpin-Pal-Set-25mm-40mm-15mm-24mm/dp/B0085CBA90 So much more comfortable and increased yield, too. You can buy a whole set of sizes because sometimes one side is bigger/smaller than the other, so you really need to try them all to see what works best. - get a battery pack to make your pump more portable. So much easier to be able to move around for the hours per day you're confined to a pump. I know you didn't ask for advice, but I can't help myself. Hopefully some of that is useful (even if it's just the commiserating)

G: 1. This morning, he climbed on my bed and said watch momma as he proceeded to jump as high as he could and land on his butt. He died laughing. 2. He's been playing really well with his brother and it's so sweet to watch. 3. Speech!!! He's finally getting more words and using them on his own. 4. Tantrums. Those are fun.
QOTW - I can't think of any that I'm glad aren't on anymore. I can think of several that I wish were still on though.
Are we including older kids too? I've got Hudson who is 4, born in March 2013.

mellyknu I've got another baby! 1. Julie 2. 11/16 1. The other day Gabe had tossed a sheet over himself and was playing peek-a-boo with Julie. They were both laughing so hard and it was adorable. 2. Both kids have been so good about petting the dogs nice. It's cute, and I know the dogs love getting attention for once. 3. Gabe has been using more and more words, and it's great. So I've been trying to be good about annunciating everything. And Julie has been standing so much (and crawling a ton). 4. I mean, teething. Both of them. It's awful. QOTW: probably Rockos modern life. As a kid I never got the adult jokes. But now when I see BuzzFeed articles about it I'm so shocked that they played that on Nickelodeon.

Can you add my older DD? E born 2/2-013
C is almost 15 months. We have a baby gate that sits against the wall to block her from the tv cords right now, she just discovered that when she bumps her butt against it that is makes noise so she sill stand there and bump it over and over. It's hilarious. She just finally is starting to walk. She's still wobbly and falls a lot but she can walk across the room. She really only says 2-3 words. I'm a little worried because she just seems behind on everything. They gave us the 15 month questionnaire to fill out before her appointment and she's not really doing much of any of it.
E had surgery in both eyes for her lazy eye this week and it's been a little rough. She's having some pain but it's really hard to get her to take meds. I'm trying to get her to take it easy but she's four and nuts. She's been struggling a lot with listening and tantrums and yelling so I don't know what to do some days. Hopefully preschool will help.

nelzie, I've got E on the list for next week! I'm sorry she's struggling right now! Hopefully her attitude improves soon! Rowan didn't walk until she was 17 months. Nerve. Wracking. Hopefully your pedi can give you some comfort/help with the developmental stuff!

1. E 2. October 2016 1. What hilarious thing(s) did your little do this week? (Give us a laugh!) She tries to feed her herself and gets so messy. 2. What made you go aww? (Happy things here!) She can now pick up her puffs and put them into her mouth, dropping very few if any. 3. What had you cheering them on? (Milestones) She stood on our own for a few second not holding on to anything. 4. What made you want to crawl back into bed? (Challenges go here!) She has not been sleeping and refuses naps. It is exhausting. 5. Share a pic from the week, if you please! QOTW: What kid show from your childhood are you glad isn't around anymore? mellyknu can you add me please! I have C who just turned 4, Aug '13 And H who is 9.5 months, Oct '16 1. What hilarious thing(s) did your little do this week? (Give us a laugh!) Well C just had his birthday. The very next day he says to me very seriously "mom, are 4 year olds alowed to watch [Percy] Jackson and Pirates?" Lol kid has it all figured out, he's a year older so wants to know what big kid things he is allowed to do. H isn't at the stage to do funny things yet, unless you include falling asleep in his dinner! 2. What made you go aww? (Happy things here!) We stayed at my sister's cabin this weekend, which resulted in the three of us sharing a bed. The boys, in their sleep, managed to find each other and snuggle up together. It was pretty darn cute. 3. What had you cheering them on? (Milestones) C is learning how to wipe his own butt!!! Trust, this is cause for celebration! H is getting super close to standing unassisted. He only recently started pulling himself up to stand, and is already attempting to let go (falls down within a few seconds, but crazy that he is already trying). 4. What made you want to crawl back into bed? (Challenges go here!) Funny that you mention bed. We don't sleep. So not sleeping makes me want to crawl back into bed lol. I'd really love it if H would get the message that sleep is good, and if C could get the message that it's ok to sleep past 6am. QOTW: What kid show from your childhood are you glad isn't around anymore? Gosh I don't even remember...

danib, I definitely think falling asleep in his dinner counts as humor, unintentional though it may be! 😂 I've got you and your boys on the list for next week.
