Hi. I'm up with coffee. Last night was mh's last night of work for the week which will be wonderful as soon as he gets some sleep. My fil gets here early Friday morning for a long weekend, yay😑. I also just started my period so that is a fun combination. I looked at my app and every period I have for the next 3 months will coincide with his family visiting; his dad this month, his parents next month, and his brother, wife, and 3 kids in October. My body hates me.

Wow meeggaannw, that's some awful timing. All the ice cream for you! Circle time today followed by a couple of quick errands. My inlaws will be here around 3 so I'll tidy the place up a bit. They're suppose to take ds for a hair cut and they might be taking dd with them. My plan is to run to the consignment shop to sell back the bouncer and some clothes. Even if they don't take dd it will be easier with just one kid to haul around. They're sticking around for the evening so mh and I can go to the movies! A very dear diary confession: when sil was pregnant she was weird about hand me downs when I offered. I wanted to "wait and see" her but I resisted. I have given her a few things (boppy newborn lounger, travel changing station, a couple of newborn outfits, etc) and now mil says she's interested in hand me downs since I'm rotating out dd's 3 month stuff. Instead of just giving her all the stuff I'm going to take it to consignment and just give her the leftovers. Plus I'm holding back a couple of my kid's "signature" outfits because I don't want her to have them. I know that's the stuff she wants because she always complimented ds' little gentleman style and consignment is going to take most of the good stuff. I waffle back and forth between feeling guilty and not really caring.

Oof that's rough timing meeggaannw! I got rear-ended on the way to drop the kids at daycare this morning and am still a little shook up. It was super low impact and no damage to either car but now I'm stressing about the car seats. Meetings all day though so I'll have to set it out of my mind until tonight. Also the lady yelled at me which upset me more than I would have expected and now I'm thinking of all the things I should have said back to her. I didn't get her insurance info since the cars were fine so I'm SOL if we need to replace the car seats 😞

Lakes one of my good friends asked for M's hand me downs (my circle of friends regularly passes baby stuff around and this friend is letting us borrow her infant car seat for a few months so H can have one in his car) and I'm feeling a little stingy about it bc I want to keep my favorite stuff nice in case my sister ever has a baby girl. So I'll probably just give her my less favorite things. I loaned all of DS's baby clothes to another friend and now that I'm passing them onto my new nephew, there's a lot of wear and a few things that just disappeared which I totally understand but wish I could give to my nephew. I definitely have a weird emotional attachment to baby clothes!

In addition to the clothes confession: half of the moms at circle time think dd is a boy because she rocks all of ds' old clothes. Even when they ask her name they translate it to "Alex" so I'm thinking about including her middle name. I don't care but then they feel awkward when they find out and avoid me the rest of the program. I tell them if I cared I'd dress her in pink but girlfriend looks good in a blue polo onesie!
Second addition: there was a 3 month old who was bigger than dd last time. I felt judged by that mom because she just kept going "oh wow" when she found out.

Oh carrots that's awful! I'm sorry for the rough morning, hopefully the car seats are okay. Also why was the lady yelling if she rear ended you?! That's typically the rear-Enders fault.

Yikes carrots I'm glad it wasn't a serious accident! That sucks about the car seats and her yelling. People are crazy. I also think about what I should have said in the heat of the moment after the fact. It's the worst.

Oh no carrots! I'm so sorry that happened. I'm the same way in tense moments - speechless then regretful I didn't say what was on my mind. Shame on her for yelling at you when it was her fault. Noooo. That's terrible timing for AF meeggaannw. All my sorries. I hope the weekend passes quickly for you. The hand-me-down thing is so sticky Lakes. I'd say try to have 0 guilt over what to give/not give to SIL. They're your clothes and beggars can't (shouldn't) be choosers. I purged all of DDs clothes before B came, save for the onesie she left the hospital in. The pieces that could get decent money at consignment went to consignment. The rest went to a friend with a girl baby with the blessing that she could use/keep/toss/donate at her own pleasure. I didn't want her to feel like she had to take care of any of it to give back. All of Bs clothes he's outgrowing are going to my SIL who is expecting a boy in Sep (with the same provision to use as she likes). I saved Bs hospital onesie too and made cute memory/shadow box frames out of them.

I sent my car in for work today, so that took up most of my morning. DH and I are going to try to sneak in a lunch together if our schedules align.
I'm trying to set up a babysitter for Monday night, which is DHs birthday. I still haven't come up with something to get him, so that's on my to-do list for today because I'm running out of time...

Agreed ellabee. She doesn't financially need the hand me downs but I don't need whatever I make at consignment and was planning on donating the rest anyway, I don't want anything back. I guess I feel guilty because she is family, albeit crazy family, and I feel like I'm being petty. Such is life! I'm 99% sure that a circle time acquaintance (we've talked a lot the last 1.5 years but have not exchanged numbers) is pregnant. She'd be due around January like my corner neighbor. So many babies! I'm excited and need to not awkwardly suggest a number exchange. Except who are we kidding? It will spectacularly Lakes awkward because that's how I roll. No cares given.

Y'all. I was just at target and there was a cute baby in line next to me, she couldn't have been more than 9 months. The mom was talking to an old couple behind her and opened a cherry coke and took a swig and then gave the baby a drink! 3 times!! I was honestly beside myself. I try not to judge other moms but seriously, it broke my heart.

Also I just scored the cutest beach towels for the kids. Pottery barn kids has a $5 discount code plus free shipping, I did 2 separate orders and it let me use the code both times. The code is yaybaby. This is the one I got for R for $6:

Loved Dunkirk! It was nice to get out without the kids. Plus I got a milkshake. Safe travels ambiguousmango! peaseblossom55 shhhhhhh I've blocked out any other sleep regressions from my memory. 😬 I hope E's sleep gets better asap! Dd is doing well after the shore....just in time for it to be disrupted when we go to VT this weekend. Sighs.
