I have a very close friend that's hard a tough fertility road with 1 living child and 5 or more mcs.
She's monitored by an RE and saw a HB at 5w6d but not a beat number. Went back today at 6w3d and the rate was 75. She's devastated and I'm really sad for her.
She doesn't do boards. Anyone have a positive friend if a friend stories where a low HR ended up working out?
I know this is sort of AW and doesn't apply to everyone. Sorry.

I'm sorry I don't have any positive stories I remember my tech saying it should be at least 100 by week 6. Prayers to your friend. Was she measuring on track?

I'm sorry your friend is dealing with that situation. I would tell her, it ain't over until a doctor says it's over. As long as they're not ordering a D&C, it means there is still some hope to hang on to. Hopefully things will turn around.

I don't have anything to add, I'm just feeling so sad for your friend. I like what bootsorhearts1 said above.

bootsorhearts1, said it well. My RE never sugar coated things for me, he was sympathetic though but never gave us the opp to be hopeful if there is none. I'm sorry your friend is going through this and IF. 5x loss is too many. Is her hcg rising still?

There was a thread on Parenting regarding this. I forget when. The consensus was all over the place, obviously since everyone is different, but there were a few who said a low HR that early on was normal. Fingers crossed for your friend!

I'm so sorry she's dealing with this I don't have experience, so I don't have any positive anecdotes. I like what bootsorhearts1 said. It ain't over until it's over.

I don't have any helpful advice, but just wanted to add that I'm sending T&Ps her way.

IIRC, that seems pretty low. I'm pretty sure at just before 6 weeks with our RE we had a HR in the 150s.
When does she have a follow up? She'll be in my thoughts; repeat losses just aren't fair.

I'm just seeing this now, and I am so sorry for your friend's prior losses and what she is going through now. I have no anecdotes or experience, but I will be keeping her in my prayers.

I'm sorry for your friends road rebeccabunch . I have a friend of a friend story, but it's been a few years so I'm gonna tag her and see if she will share it herself. budders sorry for tagging you into a weird place lol, will you share V's early heartrate with us? Yes, happy to share. Apologies for not reading the thread before responding (outside of the OP and this post tagging me in). Our first ultrasound with V was at about 8w. Everything looked great, except that his HR was 88. The tech wouldn't comment on it, but I knew from all of my research that it was significantly low, and cried to H while we waited to see the OB. He thought I was nuts because he expected the tech to say something if it was concerning. The doctor was very gentle about it, and said there was no way to know what was going on without giving it time and to come back for a repeat ultrasound in a week. It was the longest week of my life, especially since Dr. Google had almost nothing promising to say about it. We went back the following week and his HR was in the normal range (you would think I'd remember such an important number, but I don't, but I do remember sobbing in the ultrasound room as soon as she announced the number). We still don't know what caused the earlier low reading, though we suspect human error. We never had another HR issue at any other appointment, and there were no concerns about his heart at his A/S (though I did have to go back because they couldn't clearly see his heart the first time, which caused another short burst of panic for me; this kid started giving me a run for my money very early on). My story is very anecdotal, but a stark contrast to the horror stories I read about while playing the waiting game. Your friend is still early on, so there is still time for progress. Perhaps she's also not as far along as she thinks? I know that neither of those things provide much solace when you're in the throes of the waiting game, but I hope her outcome is similar to mine.

budders thank you for taking the time to share this information. This would be my friends 6th MC so she's a realist but hearing a similar story with a positive outcome may help her sleep tonight. Thank you for sharing!

Since you asked Rama I do have an update and it's a good one! She went back today and the HR was 118 and the baby was measuring exactly where it should be! 118 for mid 6 weeks is totally normal. No one was expecting this today so she's shocked and super emotional and still nervous but this is excellent news. The tech said it wasn't possible the low rate on Tuesday was an error but maybe it was? Thank you everyone for your kind words and actually caring about this because you don't know this person. budders thanks for coming in from I don't know know where but your story provided a lot of comfort.

That's an amazing update! I'm so glad that my story helped, and I hope she has a very uneventful and healthy 34 weeks ahead of her. (Also, I hail from TTGP/GKU, June '15 and other places. cythe and Rama are my people from TTGP back on TD). And speaking of which, and sorry to distract, but Rama I didn't know you decided to come over!!!
