How is it only Tuesday? This week is dragging already.
I'm taking next week off from work and having a stay-cation where I send the kids into daycare and I do all the projects I've been wanting to accomplish during the days. I can't wait.
I finally bought some fabric and some blackout lining and I'm going to tackle the shades for the kids' room!

I just took the pnp out of the living room. Dd has been doing great with crib naps and since she's mobile she didn't like being trapped in there. So much room! ellabee, I'm excited for you! A staycation with no kids sounds like heaven right now. Mh and I have a date to see Dunkirk tomorrow!

Hi I'm here, with my 2nd cup of coffee. Dd decided in the last few weeks that instead of sleeping in until 9:30 or so that 7:30 is the right time to get up for the day. She also decided it is also the perfect time to stop napping. Im really unsure how to address this problem, any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated.
Today I'm planning to strategically clean my house during R's first nap by letting dd watch "neighborhood". My fil is coming for a solo visit this weekend to help mh fix his truck. I am the opposite of excited about this trip. It is also time for my period to start so I'm sure that will help my mood drastically 🙄

I just stuck with it and put her down every day and made her stay in there for an hour of quiet time and this week she went back to sleeping like she used to. I don't know why she stopped but I knew she still needed it.

I try to just leave dd to work it out on her own and in the last 3 weeks this has resulted in a nap 2-3 times. The problem is her room is in the Same hallway as R so if she decides to get loud enough she wakes him up. I have decided it is better for my sanity to have one not nap than both of them not nap. I've been putting her down about 45 minutes before R's nap in the afternoon and if she hasn't fallen asleep by the time I put him down I usually get her because I can't risk her waking him up. This results in me being on for 7 am until 8 everyday and I'm exhausted.

I'm sorry for the earlier wakeups and nap crap meeggaannw. No advice here, just commiseration. DD (almost 3.5) still naps for like 2.5hrs at daycare every day, but won't nap for us on the weekends unless she falls asleep in the car. I can also probably count on 2 hands the amount of times she's woken up when there's a 7 on the clock. Girl is a perpetual early riser. We got her an OK to wake clock and at least she stays in bed until 6:30 now...

We are touring a preschool today for DD1, I really hope we like it since not many places take her age group, she won't be three until December. It's extremely adorable how excited she is about it and it would be nice to only have one kiddo twice a week for a few hours.

meeggaannw we're fighting naptime too. DS is 26 months and will nap but it's been taking him an hour to fall asleep. And during that hour, he usually wakes M up so I end up with zero nap overlap. And they're both up between 6:30 and 7:30 every day so on my solo days home with them, it is soul-crushingly exhausting. It's going to get easier, right? RIGHT? Hoping the nap fighting is a short-lived phase! I'm relieved to be at work today. M puked overnight though...this is the 3rd time in 2 weeks that she has randomly puked and I can't find any consistent food, routine, etc. to blame.

Your movie date encouraged me to set one up! It's a 6:35 showing so not too late. I can still be in bed at a decent time 😂

carrots, thats so odd. She's ok other than that, just random puking? Yep! First time, she ate a ton of purées (none of them new though) at 5:30, then puked at some point overnight. Second time she had a bottle of formula (it was like the 5th day in a row of one formula bottle per day) and threw up an hour later. Third time she had no formula all day and ate a couple oz of purées (which is normal) then threw up a little around 6pm and again overnight. She only drank half her bedtime bottle but drank the other half when she woke up at 2. The puke happened sometime between bedtime bottle and 2am. The only consistency is that they have all been between 5pm and midnight-ish.

meeggaannw, DD1 is 2.5 and her bedroom is between the baby and where my husband works from home some days so I get having to decide between fighting for the nap and giving the little one the rest they need. I found if I do let her come downstairs because of the noise I don't engage her and make her play toys and reminder her it's a quiet time so she can't come down and act crazy. Nothing is ever full proof with toddlers as you know so this stuff works about half the time and the rest I'm just trying to not lose it.
