Welcome to the IVF check-in for August 14! Check-ins will be every Monday (babyhopes) and Thursday (bonzo). If we've left you off the check-in, or if you'd like to be added or removed, please let us know! This is a check-in for those who are doing IVF or FET. Please don’t hesitate to use this check-in for IVF/FET info and support even if you’re not currently cycling. If you are interested in joining, please fill us in on your cycle. Everyone is welcome. Also, please update us along the way! Asterisks will appear by your name if you do not update us in a check-in. After four consecutive asterisks (2 weeks), you will be removed from the list. Don’t fret if you are removed from the list, check in again and we will add you back. Once you get a strong repeat beta, congrats! We eagerly await your 3TIF Grad Check-In posts! We encourage you to intro on PAIF, and while here in the meantime, please consistently use warning tags in posts and siggies, and be mindful of your status, especially on 3TIF outside this check-in. I am doing ok, just insanely busy:-)

babyhopes, sending good thoughts to your blast! How long until your FET do you think? hoosiermama76, the end of September sounds far, but every time I look at the calendar it seems like it's actually really close! Here's hoping the time passes quickly for you! Not much new here yet. My nurse wanted to wait until CD1 to draft up new calendars, and I started spotting today so hopefully tomorrow we'll be able to talk and get a good idea of what we're doing when.

Hey y'all! babyhopes, I'm also a wee bit disappointed you didn't get more but 1 is always better than one, right?! 3 frozen is ❤️ Your THB is in there. I just know it. bonzo, yay for getting started! That's always exciting. I'm just getting situated in the new house. I need to call the local clinics here to find out which one of them will do monitoring for my next cycle. We're looking at another one in October to bank some more.

babyhopes I can empathize with how disappointing it can be when only one makes it, but, like you, we chose to be grateful when that was the outcome of our last cycle. C'mon, AF! Let's get this FET started!! hoosiermama76 hopefully the busy days help to pass the time to September! bonzo I hope tomorrow is the day! Do you know anything about your protocol yet, or is that part of what you'll discuss with your nurse? lemonliz GL with your clinic calls! Are most clinics generally open to provide monitoring only? AFM, I'm on pins and needles about my lining check tomorrow. My least favorite RE is scheduled for monitoring tomorrow which is making me even more anxious. 😕

birch113, they want to do a Menopur-only protocol. I've discussed the pros and cons with my RE and team a lot after getting some feedback here, but my doc feels like there's a lot of new research showing it can give higher quality eggs for DOR patients. So, I'm going to go with my doc's feeling on this one.

Are you liking your new place? birch113, FX your lining check goes well tomorrow! Nothing new here. Kids start on Thursday so I'm trying to get ready but mentally, I'm still in summer mode.

birch113, some in PA were open to it and some weren't. So I'll just have to see what the NC clinics say! I'm sure one of them will take my money 😆 Good luck at lining check!!! 🤞🏼 Thanks @hoosiermama! I am not as close as I was to my old monitoring clinic but there are some that are far and some that are a half an hour. I can deal with a half an hour! bananas22, I am liking the new place! It's lovely here. We're right by a lake. I remember that feeling of being in summer mode! The semester start always came up too quickly.

birch113 ugh I am sorry about this cycle that is a total bummer. ((Hugs)) bonzo I hope you get a plan soon! babyhopes Yay for a beautiful blast! Well AF came (at least I think). I went off BCP on Wednesday. I had some light spotting on Friday and then a light flow on Saturday and really nothing but light spotting since that. I was pretty convinced that Saturday was CD1 and started the estrace then. Will go in for bloodwork tomorrow for CD5. Also just found out my RE is leaving the practice at the end of October Hopefully this cycle works and it is a non-issue.

My nurse called. I start Endometrin tonight for 7 days. My RE wants to keep my protocol mostly the same since I responded so well for our first FET. The only tweak he's making is instead of BCPs I'll begin Estrace right away.

No improvement. My RE will call later today with a plan for next cycle. ETA: AFC was 18. WTAF. I wonder if staying on estrogen (i.e. priming) for a longer period of time actually boosted your AFC? And dang it, I'm so sorry you had to cancel! IF is a bunch of bullshit. Just more bullshit on top of old bullshit! Hugs, friend.

I got my projected calendar today! We're doing an O start for estrace + cetrotide, so they want me starting OPKs on CD8. I LOLed a little at that, since I don't typically start OPKs til CD12 or so...but for an IVF round I'll pee on some extra sticks!
Has anyone had cetrotide used with estrace priming? Nothing else surprised me based on what my RE, nurse and I have talked about, but I didn't remember hearing anything about using the cetrotide early.

And dang it, I'm so sorry you had to cancel! IF is a bunch of bullshit. Just more bullshit on top of old bullshit! Hugs, friend. Maybe! My AFC last Thursday (that was supposed to be my last lining check, so not a longer time on estrogen) was 13, which was still really good for me. Last FET atvthat same point I had maybe 10 unmeasurables. But going from 13 to 18 in 5 days (extra time on estrogen) this time was shocking. I think it's at least partially because I've now been on NeoQ10 a full 3 months, but if we have to do a new IVF cycle in the future I'm 100% pushing for Estrogen priming. This next FET my RE is having me skip BCP and go straight to estrogen, so it will be interesting to see what my ovaries decide to do this time. Thanks, love.

babyhopes, yay for a beautiful blast!! hoosiermama76, September will be here before you know it! bonzo, glad you got your calendar! lemonliz, glad to hear you're getting settled! Being near a lake sounds lovely. Hope you find a local clinic that you like! birch113, boo, I'm so sorry you had to cancel - FX for your next cycle! bananas22, good luck with the kids starting tomorrow! jense927, sorry your RE is leaving - hope this cycle works so it doesn't matter! AFM, still on BCPs, and I'll be updating my saline sono and doing a mock transfer on Monday morning! And apparently going over all the forms. Eeps! QOTW: My college had a carpeted cafeteria. My job was vacuuming it in the evening after dinner. So many gross food spills that mixed poorly with carpet.

Nothing else surprised me based on what my RE, nurse and I have talked about, but I didn't remember hearing anything about using the cetrotide early. I did that on my fifth cycle and it was one of my worst cycles, BUT... I firmly believe the nurse didn't give me proper instructions or the RE didn't execute this protocol correctly, and that clinic never gave out calendars so it felt like a guess. Also, I was coming off of a few months of BCP because we were trying to get into a batch. When I took it, I dropped the BCP and added Estrace for 7 days. Then I dropped the Estrace and added antagonist for 10 days. And then I dropped that and stimmed. On day 3 I had one giant follicle. We cancelled. I believe the proper way to do it would have been to stay on Estrace when I added Antagonist. (And this is just my weird body but I also have to stay on Estrace the whole time during stims. I think that's less common.).

I do both for 3 days, then stop the Cetrotide when I get a period but continue the estrace for a couple more days. I've done some more Googling about the combo, and it seems a lot of clinics favor that priming for DOR. But it sounds like they do have to be given at the same time, the way my nurse has it set up. Sounds like that clinic royally screwed you over!
