I use a carrier to get both babies into and out of daycare every day. Suddenly, it feels like Z is going to slide out and just doesn't feel secure when I lean over/squat to pick up w. I feel this way with both my lillebaby and Tula. Her shoulders are finally coming up over the top of both.
Normal? Likely just a fit issue? We're not ready for a toddler carrier yet, are we?

Toddler carriers are huge and in general don't fit till size 2T pants length, so I doubt you are ready for one yet unless Z is that tall. Can you take a photo? Might be able to troubleshoot and help you adjust that way.

I guess between her suddenly getting taller and me losing some weight, neither one fits well. I'll get some pictures this evening.

Ok. I feel like the fit is good, she just doesn't feel secure when I lean over. *Poof*

Make sure she is lower. Her legs should be forming that nice "M" with the knees slightly higher than the butt. And her arms should come out the sides, not the top. You've got plenty of room. Tried to find an image with a child the same size.

Thanks. She insists her arms must be out some days, especially while I'm putting W in his seat. Maybe that was the change that made her suddenly feel like she didn't fit as well.
We'll try this afternoon and see how it goes.

First of all, omg so much cute on those babies.
When I have M in the carrier I always have to hold on to her if I lean over because I feel like she'll fall out if I don't. I wear her pretty snugly so I just assumed that was a normal thing. When her arms get out then she definitely doesn't feel secure if I lean over. I just put her arms back down if she tries put them out the top. And like Sarenu said, I'd drop her a couple inches lower.

And this is definitely where going to a local lending library would help, but that store owner turned me off of baby wearing for like 6 months (with twins! My life would have been so much easier if I had been confident in wearing at least one). I just can't with that lady.

Would it help if you buckle the head support up on the lillebaby? That would extend the panel up further.

Thanks, everyone. Getting her settled lower in the seat and tightening the shoulder straps and loosening the cross strap (so the straps sit flat) made a huge difference. I've lost a good bit of weight recently, and when you combine that with a growing baby, things suddenly didn't fit well. She's not a fan of the new fit, bit she'll just have to get over it.
