I have been MIA all weekend, but it wasn't intentional. We did a family canoe floating trip Saturday and my iPhone bailed ship halfway through . But, I'm back connected to the rest of the world now, so I'm trying to catch up. My mom and I hit up that consignment sale Friday as well as Carter's and racked up at both. I feel a lot more prepared for baby's arrival being so close now!

Happy Monday everyone! I still feel like it's the weekend, since today was a local holiday. Can't complain - DS still has a slight cold and was extra snuggly all day. Just wanted to sit next to me and read stories or watch Moana. I don't know if it's the pregnancy hormones or what, but I got some feels about how I won't have as much one-on-one time with him once this baby arrives, and I got all weepy. Poor DH was just like...uhhhhh...
I know it will be fine - I guess I just am thinking more about how everything is going to change a lot within the next 2 months!

This probably goes in a TMI thread. Sorry. My hemorrhoids have.....taken a turn. I stopped on the way to work and bought a bunch of stuff to hopefully help my butt. Thank goodness for self checkout!

Sorry about your butt CoachTsWife. DD and I are going to meet H for lunch. I should probably get moving. Right now she's enjoying an episode of Paw Patrol.

We have maternity photos tonight on the beach! I'm really excited to have DS in them.
I also have vacation time in 2 weeks. I am so ready for a break.

I have no motivation to work. One of my projects is pissing me off because 2 of the team members are being fuck-sticks. And the rest I just don't give a shit about because it's going to be someone else's problem in 6 weeks. Sorry, work.

Add me to team no motivation to work. At least it's a short week and then a four day weekend for me because of the eclipse!
Today I go for my repeat GD test and I'm pounding water so they can't blame me if they fail to poke my veins again.

In fact, I JUST emailed my replacement asking when she was taking over full time. I'm pretty sure it's this week. So the next few weeks of transition then I'm HER backup for the month of September.

I had my follow up u/s for placenta previa today. My placenta has moved! And baby is head down! Although he's measuring at 4 pounds 10 ounces so that's a little frightening. This weekend was nuts. I solo parented for a lot of it and got so much accomplished (grocery shopping, Costco run, new bras, freezer meals, saw friends that just had a baby). But had to ice my back at the end of each day because I totally overdid it. Gah.

That's great news chitownsully !! I solo parented much of the weekend as well. I got so much accomplished Saturday but I overdid it, too. For me, it was my feet that were hurting. I hope your back feels better today!

I kind of feel like I'm drowning in parenting and running the house today. My rushed shower yesterday was the only time since last Saturday morning that i haven't been primarily responsible for DS. Normal DH takes Saturday mornings and takes DS outside with him to do yard work, and the hour or so i get to just sit and relax from that apparently mean much more to me than i thought. Also I helped in the nursery at church the last 2 weeks, and was so sick of DS by the end yesterday. So those 2 hours too.

You need some solid kid free time to do whatever you want. I fall into this trap too sometimes but why does shower, solo grocery shopping, uninterrupted dinner making or even unloading the dishwasher in silence pass as counting? It shouldn't. I know you are newer to the area but do you have a trusted sitter, family close, or can H take the lead one of the weekend days? 1 hour isn't good enough either.

Back from our trip! We survived. It was more fun and more relaxing than years past. Next year, not so much!
I forgot to brag about my massage at the resort Friday that had the special pillow where I could lay on my stomach! I'm a stomach sleeper and I'm still kind of doing it at night but the full stomach lay down was awesome.
I was going to post a trip pick then poof quickly but I can't find one where my kids arent squinting into the camera or even both looking. I'm going to see what I can find.

I am leading a "crew" at our church's vacation bible school this week. I had seven 2-4 year olds (one of them being DD) this morning for 3 hours! The station teachers were all really good about simplifying to meet the needs of the little kids and preschoolers are my jam (I regularly have groups of 5-20 at work) but man I'm enjoying the break of nap time this afternoon! Luckily I purposely planned to have nothing going on in the afternoons this week

I was dehydrated today. I'm doing some work with a friend and I started feeling like complete shit. Painful shooting pains and general discomfort all over my abdomen.
Thankfully it was time for lunch about then and I downed 4 bottles of water, plus the biggest cup size at chic fil a. Thankfully, that's what it was and I started feeling a lot better after the hour break.
Of course, I spent the rest of the afternoon running to the bathroom but whatever.

Well looks like I am getting what I want maternity leave wise but it sounds like the paperwork process is going to be a pain in the ass. Apparently they send my packet certified mail to my house and I have to be there to sign for it. Uhhhh shouldn't HR know I work full time and therefore I'm not home during the day?! I guess they won't send it directly upstairs to my office (they are on the 4th floor, I'm in the 5th) or via email.
DS also moved up in his class at daycare this morning. I couldn't sleep all night thinking about it and cried leaving him. Guess who had a wonderful day?! Lol damn hormones.

Had a hectic day with OB appt. which was long since we had a bunch of stuff to discuss that didn't happen last visit. Luckily I had the first appt. so I was called in on the dot! Just how I like it. Then I had an overdue hair appt. and decided to chop of 6-8 inches of my hair and my head feels so light! It took almost 2 hours lol! I gave her a nice fat tip. Got home just in time for lunch and then a roofer come by to check our leaky roof. Bah! House repairs never ending! 😡 On a good note 😋 I just chopped over a pound of white chocolate to make the frosting on my cake! It won't be done until tomorrow lol! Thanks for all the warm wishes yesterday and thanks to the great British baking show I got motivated to make myself a cake but didn't have all the ingredients. I have my sponge layers baked yesterday evening and in the freezer. Hopefully I can get the frosting done tomorrow and DS can help me blow spit candles on the cake!

caitost21, glad you managed to negotiate your maternity leave in your favour. I wanted to respond but felt very unintelligent last week from lack of sleep but saw you got great advice from our O17 ladies!

Taitai, hope your DS feels better as the day goes by. Same here about cuddling with DS too which we did a lot last week. He's taken to the fact that mommy needs to rest cos of baby and has been bringing piles of books and snuggling to read with me. At one point we read like 5 Dr. Seuss' book in one sitting! I have mixed feelings though. Sad that I won't get as much 1on1 time with him but so happy that he'll have a sibling for companionship and to love. I do get tearful thinking of their future together. Ladies! We're getting so close!

rebeccabunch Did I miss a poofed pic from your lake trip? I hope not! That massage sounds heavenly. We're going camping with friends in a remote location in the path of totality for the eclipse. Traffic could be a nightmare getting there and back, but I have FOMO and couldn't not make an effort to see it. Plus DS is obsessed with camping after our trip a couple weekends ago, so he'll have fun. We're leaving Friday and coming back Monday afternoon.

I'll do it tomorrow so you can see it. One of my good friends is doing something similar this weekend downstate here in Carbondale which is supposed to be one of those special spots. I think it's great you are doing it! I feel like it's good luck to see it. If we weren't potty training DS2 this weekend I'd make some sort of effort.

Is it the disability + remote work to get you to 12 weeks, plan?
