What's everyone got going on today? Any fun weekend plans?
Normal work day today but lots of fun plans for the long weekend. Celebrating my grandfather and BIL's birthdays and having a crab feast with my parents. Crabs are the best in Maryland~

H and I are at the eye doctor waiting for our annual exams. Since my work week began on Sunday, I have today off and a 4 day weekend total. It's supposed to be beautiful here all weekend so we will be hanging out at the lake and grilling out with family. And hopefully getting some sort of sun on this white bod.
Also, I finally changed my avatar!

Good morning! Tidying up the house this morning and then the zoo this afternoon. It will be a pretty quiet weekend, but I will need to find something to do with DS so we don't go stir crazy! A nearby lake has a campground with a little playground, we went over there yesterday afternoon and DS played for nearly two hours! I was hoping for 30 minutes so was thrilled. Pretty sure he went down the twisty slide 20+ times.

Ugh, so much to do today! We are leaving tomorrow for South Dakota (and my baby shower!!) and I feel like I have a million things to do today. Thankfully, I slept well.
Bitching moment: I have 2 Cat Genie litter boxes - the ones that hook up to the water supply and clean themselves. Love them. Except when they stop working, which they've done days before I'm set to leave for a week. Basically I'm at a 12 when all i want to do is relax. Gah!

I feel obligated to share a sunscreen PSA: Pregnant bodies can be very sensitive to the sun. Please remember to protect your skin.
Last pregnancy I spent about 35 minutes outside unprotected. I looked like a lobster and got a stern talking to from my OB at my next appt. I had no idea I could be so sensitive while pregnant.

Meeting up with a couple of cousins today at my grandma's, for lunch. Should be fun! They both have baby girls, and one cousin is expecting again (in October!) My kids will have fun playing with the babies, and it'll be nice to visit.

CoachTsWife Ah, that explains why I got a terrible sunburn a few weeks ago after spending like 20 minutes outside. I attributed it to the fact that the PNW hadn't seen sun in approx 7 months but it still seemed odd. We're out of town this weekend and I'm strictly mobile so apologies in advance if I get tags wrong!

We get to leave at noon today!! I canceled lunch with my husband just so I could take the time to check out the "nice" Target down the street from my work as opposed to the one closer to our house. #priorities

I'm still on project clean the house/purge old stuff. This is no fun!
And why is naming kids so hard? DH and I have no names on our possibility list and it's making me anxious even though I know we have plenty of time.

All smoothie shops should have a drive thru. If I'm paying $7 for a smoothie, it's because I feel like poop and I don't want to get myself/my toddler out of my car. 👎🏻

arimaythea, that's what I miss the most when I went to school in MD - all the crab! We're going to OC in July and I cannot wait! I hope we get out super early today. I already feel I did too much work for a Friday before a long weekend.

Taking H's car to a car wash today. It's at the school where I coach volleyball and it's M's preschool. We're just over a month out of H coming home and I can't wait.
No plans for the weekend. I think my sister might come over. I need to start cleaning/condensing the office and guest room closets because we're getting rid of the guest room and turning the office into sequel's room (and moving the office into what was the guest room). I also need to start going through DD's baby clothes and separate the neutral stuff and sell the girl clothes.

Spending most of my time in Sioux Falls. It's where I grew up so I'm excited to take H around and eat at ALL the places I've been missing these last 4 years! For real though, Sioux Falls is a great little city. Growing up there it wasn't the best but now as a mom to be, I totally see the draw. *and as a homeowner lol. You cannot beat the Midwest cost of living!

DD woke up with a fever of 103 this morning. WTF. DH is home with her. I had meetings until 4:30PM today but moved everything around so I can be out of here by 2. Needless to say my morning has been hella busy.

Three times now I've felt, what I assume (?), are kicks... but really high. Like at the top of my "bump". I have an anterior placenta so maybe it's because I'm used to the muted kicks but the first time freaked me out. The second time I was holding DD and literally fell on the floor. And the third time I almost jumped out of my chair.
It's got to be more than a kick right? Maybe he's kicking a nerve? If this child is THIS strong, THIS early, I'm scared.

But these meeting rarely last an hour and you bet your booty I'm packing up and taking my stuff with me and I'm running out the door when it is over. If I'm ever in a role where I have people under me, I'm definitely cutting them loose early on days before holidays. The few times it has happened to me, it is the best ever. Such a little thing, but it makes me so happy when it happens.

I also need to start going through DD's baby clothes and separate the neutral stuff and sell the girl clothes. I need to do this too and I'm DREADING it! The kicker is that a lot of DD's stuff was hand-me-downs from my cousin. When I found out this one was a boy I asked her if it was okay to donate it (like I do most of my clothes). Nope. SHE WANTS THEM BACK!!! So I have to go through ALL the clothes, separate the neutral from the girl AND separate the stuff I bought / gifts from the stuff my cousin apparently lent me. I may procrastinate on this one.

chitownsully that does not sound like fun at all... like you're supposed to remember what she gave you. We didn't get any hand me downs for DD and I'm not expecting any with sequel either.

My "boss" (quote because I work in a project-related field and he's more my project leader) told me yesterday he was checking out at noon today. Gave me the motivation to rearrange my schedule and get out early too!

Yeah, no kidding. I'm going to caveat the return with "i did the best i could". She has a son too. I'm almost thankful that she already got rid of his baby stuff at a garage sale. I think I'd have to politely decline the hand-me-down offer this time. It was great to have the clothes but this sorting thing gives me anxiety. Andplusalso, ain't nobody got time for that.

Hey all! DS is doing much better today. Fever gone and energy back, it's so nice to see him playing again. He's developed a few more red bumps, but they don't seem to bother him right now. He slept most of the day yesterday, and as a result woke up at 4am this morning. Then didn't go back to sleep. This is a child who usually sleeps in until 9am, so I didn't love that. He just went down for nap, so I think I might go do the same.
