What's your least favorite part of your craft?
Organizing? Buying materials? Getting started? Finishing?

This is what inspired this thread. These freaking ends. If I were smart I'd weave them in as I go, but I never do. So I'm left with this mess. I just want to start on the border! I do not want to deal with ends. Buh.

The middle. When I start a new cross-stitch project, I'm super excited and work on it a bunch. Then I get bored. It revs up again when I'm close to the end.

Weaving in ends are THE WORST. I've gotten very good at weaving in as I go. I try to set restrictions on myself, like no starting a new skein/color/pattern repeat until ends are weaved in or else I go insane. I make a lot of blankets though and would have 80 billion ends like you do honeylemon if I didn't weave as I go. Nothing would ever get finished. Never ever. (Btw that blanket looks amazing)

rablissful thank you! I finished all that weaving and I'm working on the border now. I started this blanket shortly after my mastectomy in June and I've been calling it my recovery blanket. I'm hoping finishing it will give me some mental closure.

I hate starting a project then getting pulled away for a significant amount of time (i.e. weeks, not hours) because it is so hard to remember what step on I am on, which spot I stopped sewing at, what order I wanted to sew pieces together in, or other things along those lines when it is a more complex sewing project or something. Yeah, I'm looking at you, not-even-half-done fabric basket with a divider.

I hate when I've just finished sewing a difficult part of my pattern only to realize that my bobbin ran out halfway through. There's a few projects that I actually abandoned because it happened more than once.

My least favorite part is definitely satin stitching. I can never get all the stitches smooth and even. Making tassels is also difficult for me, but thankfully I do not have to do that very often.

I don't like pinning together my quilt sandwich, especially if it is bigger than baby size. Just a very tedious process.

The middle is usually where I abandon a project because I get sidetracked or bored. I try to pick short projects because of that, if it takes me more than a few days, I probably won't finish it.

Weaving in ends is my least favorite part of knitting, for sure. But it's better than hand quilting! I have a queen size quilt that I stupidly started hand quilting. I haven't touched it in over 6 months. I really need to get back on it, but it's tedious and I hate working on it in the summer because it's easiest to have the giant hoop rest on my lap and that gets hot.

Weeding vinyl. Sometimes it is so satisfying but I always seem to choose skinny fonts that are a total PITA.

Ironing. Blegh. And pre-washing/drying fabric is a close second.
