Yo! What's going on?!
I'll be back momentarily but quick Q.. my LOs already take normal formula obv but I haven't given them cows milk. I made pancakes with 2% cows milk, do I need to proceed with caution if I want to let them try it? Or is it safe to assume that since they've had formula they'd be ok?

I finally have J's 9 month appointment today. Then my mom and her boyfriend are supposedly coming for dinner tonight but she texted me this morning that she called into work and would call me later... so I'm thinking that's not happening anymore. But I'm making tacos. That IS happening.

Morning!
C's sleep has been lousy since we got here, but she did better last night, and slept til 8:20 😳
My parents flew out yesterday afternoon for a wedding, so it's just the kids and me here for the weekend. We played putt putt yesterday and today I'm taking them to a wildlife refuge about an hour from here. B is super excited to see a moose and Maine black bears.

MIL came to town to babysit the boys this morning while I went to my MRI. I set her up with breakfast and got a bottle of pumped milk ready for nap later. Drove to the hospital and waited 30 minutes for my number to be called so I could register. Gave the receptionist my card and.....
My appointment is 9:30 PM!!!!!!! Like at night!!!! WTF!!!!!!
Did not know they did night time appointments! I almost cried, like literally had tears in my eyes and asked of there was anything she could do. Was like "I have 2 babies, my babysitter won't be able to come back tonight". She called back for me but they had ICU patients so there was no way to squeeze me in. I called my mom. She's sick but she's gonna come watch them anyway. Hopefully H sleeps so she doesn't have to deal with anything and can just chill and watch TV.
I'm super upset. Obviously it's my fault for not reading PM on the appointment letter, but I would never have even thought an MRI appointment would be that late. Like I won't get home until around 11pm. I'm gonna be exhausted.

danib that's crazy! I have never heard of even an in-patient procedure being done that late unless it's an emergency. To schedule an out-patient procedure at that time just seems insane. I'm so sorry.

Omg danib I know that feeling, you get all warm and the tears just come. You're trying so hard to keep everything together and sometimes shit just gets ya. Well, I'm glad your mom can come even though she's sick. waitwhat I ad take out tacos the other night and by the time I was able to sit down and eat them they walkers cold and dry. Like, tacos should have some juice in the taco meat... I was sooooo disappointed the fuckers ruined my taco night. You might need coronas or margaritas to go with that. #protip 😉 flamingo I'd be excited to see a moose too!! I hope you guys have fun! hangry I don't know how food allergy things work so I think I'm just being over cautious bc my biggest fear is like something happening food related (an allergy, choking, etc) and having to help one baby and still watch one baby in a high hair or crawling around etc. I mentioned that to the pedi at their 9 mo appt the other day and he gave me a look - his words said "oh that's a good point" but his face said - lady you're a worrier.

I'm so sorry. I think it's because it was considered short notice. It can take months and months to get an MRI here (outside of an emergency of course), I got this scheduled within a few weeks. I still had no clue they scheduled so late.

kleigh should be fine. If you want to truly test dairy give them something not cooked (heat denatures protein) like yogurt, cheese, or the yogurt drops. LMK if you want more info re: what to look for and when to give Benadryl Omg danib. Omg. 9:30 at night?!! I'm so sorry. Save some tacos for me waitwhat. I'll bring the Caronas.

We were both shocked, but that is how they manage long wait times here.

I think I got most of the packing done yesterday. I still have some last minute items to pack in the morning like the noise machines, baby monitor, etc. I don't know why packing stresses me out so much.

Is it a Canadian healthcare thing? I think it depends where you are. There are only 2 hospitals where I am, so the resources just aren't here to accomodate the demand. So specialized stuff like that has a long wait time, umless of course its an emergency (like I got one right away when I was admitted).

danib, I would have likely made the same mistake. I've shown up to appointments on the completely wrong day before. waitwhat, I'll come over for tacos. And wine. flamingo, have fun at the wildlife refuge! I think we have something sorta similar out here, but I've never been before.

So.... ::insert Rachel Green "I know there was wine" gif herefrom the episode where Ross finds out::

Morning!
I'm happy it's Friday even though I only had 2 work days this week. I wish every week could be a 2 work day week.
Today is one of our temps last day. He's been here for about a year and I'm sad to see him go. He's a great worker and is always so helpful. But he's here on a visa (a student one, I think?) and it's expiring and our company only sponsors visas for higher up folks. BUT we're getting take out from this Sichuan place and I'm so excited for some pepper chicken!

Hey guys! I completely missed yesterday so I don't consider myself totally CU. danib I would have been so upset too. That sucks . I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible tonight. We're currently on the road to NJ for the weekend to celebrate my brother's 30th birthday. Dinner tonight with the family and then a party at his ILs' house tomorrow. It'll be nice but most likely exhausting. Hopefully I'll be able to check in some. D's top tooth FINALLY cut through the gum last night. From the looks of it, the one next to it is not far behind. I definitely packed the Tylenol lol

I'm in the most populous region of canada. The GTA alone has 5 million people and we serve much more than that. So it's a always busy here. But I'm not well versed enough in Canadian healthcare to speak too knowledgeably about it.
