Ok. So we're RV camping. And... we forgot the carafe and filter basket for our coffee maker. Grr!
So... we have a coffee maker without a pot or filter basket. We have coffee. We have cream and sugar. We have water.
What can we do in the morning? Help me engineer some camp coffee!! Help me NJCD. I know you can do this!

Do you have any other kind of sieve or strainer? Paper towels?

I would say you should be able to do it with any two containers of similar size/shape to your carafe and filter basket. Your makeshift filter basket (some kind of bowl with a hole in the bottom) will just have to balance on your makeshift carafe instead of sliding into the slot it normally would.

I think you should run to the store for filters. Or maybe a fst? I've used paper towels in a pinch and it tastes gross.

Or you can skip the coffee maker and do it French press style without the press. Just add slightly less than boiling water to the grounds, stir, wait 3-4 min and Macguyver out the grounds with what's on hand.

You stir the grounds directly into hot water and let it sit. The press then pushes the grounds down while filtering the now coffee so you can pour it. You could mix the grounds in then pour it through your filters to remove the grounds. Voila. Coffee.

Yes to just mixing grounds and water (same ratio), letting it steep and then pouring it (slowly) through the filter. DH and I have Macgyvered all kinds of coffee in various hotel rooms to various degrees of success.
ETA: this would work for cold brew too

Was going to say make over night cold brew. Then use the filters to strain.

We have a coffee flavored beverage at least!
We cooked it in a pot, then cut the top off a gallon water bottle and set a filter in that. It worked ok, but I don't think it's strong enough.
