DS was given one of his birthday gifts a few days early and he's been happily playing with it all morning. He's going to be very disappointed when we have to leave for MIL's house in a little while.
How is everyone's hump day going?

Things are going well over here! DS has a bit of a runny nose and I'm trying to teach him to blow it to get the gunk out...but he instead keeps inhaling when I put the tissue up by his nostrils. I wonder when kids figure out how to blow their nose? DS is 2 yrs and 5 months - anyone else have experience in this area? He's able to blow bubbles with his mouth and nose in the pool at swim lessons...so I figure he should be able to do it into a tissue.
Maybe he's just being a stubborn toddler...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have no idea what's typical though.

H is home sick again. It's way more then just a cold so I'm trying to be sympathetic but I really just want him to stop whining.
Everyone on my floor at work is either on vacation or out for the day. It's so quiet, it's kinda eerie.

It's my day off today. I had a Dr appointment first thing to talk about some stomach issues I have. She wants me to try some diet changes and I believe it is more than that, but I will just KOKO because there is not much else I can do.
We walked to my Dr and then walked to get my haircut and home and then I dyed my hair and we hung out in the back yard for a bit. I washed my hair out and she fell asleep on the couch. It is a really nice day out but I just want to relax and watch a movie on my couch. How sad is that? Lol

We're on our Orlando vacation and I'm so tired. The days are busy especially with a toddler and a 1 year old, but it's going well I think. Also, I'm jealous of this weather and seriously wish I lived in a hotter climate.

We are back from the beach and settling in. Just trying to catch up! We had our house painted while we were gone and I don't love the color we picked for the main parts of the house, hopefully it grows on me! I do love our BR and LO's room's colors though.

Maybe he's just being a stubborn toddler...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My DS is just shy of 2 years 2 months, and blowing his nose is a mega talent of his. Like, he blows his nose better than our six year old niece does. My H has horrible allergies, and is constantly blowing his nose, and does so loudly. DS thinks it's funny, so last time he had the sniffles H somehow taught him to do it, I think he just exhaled through his nose really dramatically, and then, boys being boys, when DS would get some snot on the Kleenex, H would show him and tell him how cool it was that he could get his boogies onto the Kleenex, lol. So now DS will blow his nose, inspect the Kleenex, and run to throw it away (the last part being my teaching).

It's a normal Wednesday for us - DS didn't fall asleep until like, 9:30 because it took forever for him to wind down last night, we had H's family over for dinner because his uncle is in from out of town, so went crazy running around with his cousins. I tried to let him sleep in as much as possible this morning before day care, and he seemed pretty happy, so fingers crossed. I think tonight is going to be a mellow night with some screen time and relaxing on the couch, which sounds perfect to me after a busy night last night!

Hi all! Busy week for me. So far so good. Although Thursday is usually my frustrating day.
Anyone work in IT? My IT's way to transition to new system is driving me nuts. The whole thing is wacky. This week we got an email saying that our shared folder was being removed 8/12 and a new one created 8/31. Um, can't you have it available in parallel so the queries can be saved? I can save them all in my folder but then no one else on my team can use it. Just dumb.

Today was my last day at home with DD. I had mixed feelings. I'm so, so sad to give up all the amazing time I have with her in the summers. But I'm worn out. Teaching will be a respite. I am mentally drained trying to keep up with a toddler and keeping her entertained. She's pretty demanding. Are they all this demanding, or did I have an extra-demanding child? So I'm kind of ready to go back to work, except for the stupid early mornings. Teenagers are cake compared to toddlers. Especially when you only have them for an hour or so every day DD also gave me her lovely cold, which I've been battling the last couple of days. Today was better. We went to the library and they were having a toddler play group thing. We hadn't signed up for it but DD was dragging me through the door and started to throw a fit when I told her no, and the incredibly nice lady said we could come in and play. DD actually sat for storytime, which I've never seen her do, and did all the hand motions and stuff. So that was neat.

Oh yeah, and she hasn't napped in DAYS. So that's fun. But she's been all right at bedtime. And sleeping pretty well at night. Though early this morning she just kind of yelled out of nowhere and then not again. And then did it again later, loud enough to wake up H (but not me? lol) so who knows what was going on in there.
When do they drop naps? Daycare may not be happy with us if she won't nap lol.

jillywilly That is great your DS is so good at blowing his nose! I'm going to have DH try to teach him again. Maybe there's something about manly blowing nose stuff that will have an impact there. I am clearly not getting through to DS 😅

fuzzylogic all toddlers are demanding and def tiring...so much energy! Although my CW would disagree...her son was an easy, well-behaved toddler 😒🙄 Except for the wake up, I enjoy returning to work Monday mornings lol.

fuzzylogic, I always have great aspirations of being able to keep up with K and stay home with her, but about an hour in I'm ready to sit down. If I could just bottle that energy and have a shot with my morning coffee I'd be good.
