@easilyunamused I'm just now seeing this, what a nightmare! I hope it clears up quickly and you don't have issues BFing.

yellowcat, I was just telling MH before the Bell's palsy that I just want to get my body back too. Like stop putting anything in it. Between a year of fertility treatments and then 10 months of pregnancy, I want things to get back to a normal. But that's out the window now with the drugs I'm on. It's never ending.

Still trying to play catch up here! Sending hugs to those that need them!
I just want to add that this post pregnancy for me has been so different than my last. I am definitely experiencing hot and cold spells a lot! It's so annoying! I am also extremely sore in my stomach region thanks to all the pushing when i was bleeding out. This little guy is a breastfeeding champ while my last son wasn't which could be why this time around my hormones are even more whacky! Plus lack of sleep kills me too!
I will say the only thing that has been freaking me out - to point of a panic attack a few days ago was heart palpitations. Randomly I will feeling my heart in my throat/chest. It's so weird! I am pretty sure I have felt this at some point in my life, but when I doctor google of course I went down the rabbit hole.
I actually saw my midwife about who quickly thought it was hormone related, which is probably is. She did order an EKG and recommended cardiologist.
I did the EKG (youngest there by 30 years) and I passed. Which was a relief, but I am going to see a cardiologist on Monday. Is it overboard, maybe, but the peace of mind that I am not dying would be nice! Heart disease runs in my family so it's on my mind.

Who else had a c section? Just curious as to how you're recovering and dealing with the pain every day. I'm not sure if I'm just being a baby or if I'm in the norm.

@cwbn928 sorry the heart palpitations gave you such a scare! It can be freaky and scary esp when you never had them before. Glad the EKG didnt show anything odd. Good luck with your cardiologist appt on monday - always good to just get checked out even if it is just for peace of mind! I also hope you will feel less bruised in your stomach region soonest!

mrshall1027 LT as hugs! Hope you feel better soon. I have to say even tho I ofcoz have no experience with CSs, when dealing with serious pain it is really better to take your painmeds even if you don't want to. When in pain the body takes much longer to heal - being in pain costs a lot of energy. Would it be a possibility to discuss a different pain med with your dr, one that makes you feel less out of it?

I feel like recovery has been somewhat similar this time around. I'm a bit more distended but that's just from more babies. Still hard to walk around. Breastfeeding the twins gives me a lot of cramping. I'm taking the painkillers. I take the oxy when I have to or Tylenol. Can't take Motrin bc of the BP meds I'm on. I don't love taking the pain meds but I'm not trying tough it out too much.

I've definitely been better about taking them the last couple days. My hubby has been reminding/bugging me about staying on them so that's helped. I'm just gonna have to deal with it and take them because you're right about the healing process. Hopefully it'll be another week or so and then I can switch to just Motrin or Tylenol.

I've been walking around the house hunched over to not stretch out my stomach. I also have not taken narcos, only Tylenol. It'll be day 7 and I'm just now able to get out of bed without almost crying.

It's especially painful when I lay down with my right leg fully extended. I don't remember having that with my last c section. I was getting a lot of cramping during pumping/feeding too, but that went away a few days ago.

Well it's only 5:30am where I am so I'm up for a feed right now. I feel ok, but usually feel off once I take the morning meds. I pump and dump a few hours later, so I hope it's not affecting baby too much. π

Are you supplementing with formula for the milk you are dumping or isn't that necessary? And I forget.. were you able to go home yet or are you still at the hospital? Either way, I am keeping everything crossed things will improve soon and that you will be able to just worry about newborn stuff rather then all these extra worries soon! *hugs*

I was released that same day thankfully. I pump extra after a feed so we can feed him the bottle while I'm pumping. I HATE seeing that glorious milk go down the drain.

@easilyunamused, yes I can imagine it sucks having to dump your precious milk. But luckily tis just for a short period of time! When it seemed necessary I had to go back on my heart medication I was so worried it'd mess with my BFing plans - and I would have had to pump&dump for the first period PP as well.. just the thought of it made my heart hurt. Am glad that I was able to go without the meds after all.. shame it took me to loose my job Γ‘nd break my ankle but ohwell at least something positive came out of that then? LOL
