Help me diagnose my baby- she's got a couple weird red spots. The strangest is on her hand- very hard to get a picture because she's never still. But there's a couple. It's only red on that one hand like beneath her thumb and pointer finger and often she will scratch that part of her hand against her forehead, like she's itching it but I don't think babies can feel itch right? And even if they could they certainly don't know to scratch it. I don't think? She does suck that thumb a lot, the red part isn't actually in her mouth but maybe because it's usually wet from slobber there is a rash? There are no bumps. Just red rashiness. The other one is on her butt right where the elastic hits from the diaper. I've tried several different creams and coconut oil but nothing seems to touch it. She's got some similar patches under her chin as well that come and go. Are these just normal things and I'm worrying about nothing? I don't think it's worth a call to the pediatrician or anything. But I wonder what else I could put on it.

P had one like your third pic the other day- on her temple. Went away in a few days. Never had any others or any eczema though.
Also hello chunker tiny baby M!

I guess I thought eczema was everywhere if you had it. So maybe it's just a very mild case. She has her 6-month appointment next month so if they're still around I'll show the ped. And in the meantime just keep it moisturized. I haven't put anything on her hand though since it's constantly by her mouth.

I only get mine on my hands and feet, for example. Beeswax based salves (like waxalene) are great for mild eczema.
