Things seem to finally be getting back on track in the Taitai household. DH appears to be over the stomach flu - and nobody else has come down with it thank goodness. After not having DH around for basically 2 weeks (USA trip plus his quarantine to our master suite with the stomach flu), I am so ready for things to get back to normal around here. Since I'm on modified bedrest for this pregnancy, I haven't been able to be as active as a parent physically (no chasing around DS or lifting him...trying to stay off my feet, etc.). It's been difficult for me to be stuck watching a lot of stuff from the couch and not being able to immediately run over and address behavior issues - if that makes sense.
We have an awesome nanny who basically was surrogate DH while he was gone/incapacitated, but she is more permissive than either of us. It's a cultural thing here. DS' sleep has gotten much worse and he's taken to crying more to get what he wants. Time to put a stop to that and get things back on track!

The kidlets are home with Dh today. I fear for how the house will look. I'm sure they will have a great day playing with all the toys and daddy.

I went to go eat my soup and realized that when I poured it into my tupperware container this morning I only poured in the liquid part and none of the food bits. womp, womp.
K was up at 4am hungry. She's been eating non stop the past two days. I think she's making up for not really eating for that week she was sick. I had to cut her off last night because it was time for bed. For breakfast this morning she ate half a banana, cereal, a cheese stick, and a pouch. On a normal day she eats a few bites of banana or cereal. We get to daycare and she runs over to the high chairs as soon as she could. I just handed the daycare teacher her lunch box and said good luck.

You would think that he never gets food. He still nurses every 2 hours when we are home together, and eats three big meals, and is constantly snacking all day. His dad is the same way, I feel like our pantry is always empty because they eat so much!

birdie, mine eats a lot too! He has to have breakfast at home and then the one at DC. I have 2 boys and I fear for my grocery bill as they get older.

He wakes up pretty early and has breakfast with my H. At the daycare he starts next week, they do family style breakfast that I'm sure he will participate in and demolish!

At the family reunion this weekend there were over 10 teenagers. They. Ate. So. Much. Food. They would go down to the lake, come back and eat more, and then go back to the lake again. It was crazy.

As much as I love working only four days a week, I hate that I basically live at work those four days. I mentioned to my chef that I'd love to pick up Friday evenings if the school decided they want us open for them again, so we'll see what happens.
DS was being his usual hilarious self before I left the house this morning. His new favorite thing is to pull out the front of his pullup to check himself out and since he doesn't quite get how pronouns work, he'll say "I see your penis!" That could get awkward if he does it away from home.

I am so jealous of all the good eaters here! I wish. My kid nearly stopped eating once she turned 1. Used to eat any food I gave her and now her favourite word to describe anything is "yucky".
I keep trying to come up with foods she likes but she is stuck on things like pizza or cereal. I don't want cereal for dinner child lol
I broke out my Instant Pot this weekend and made a Tomato Basil soup and some corn on the cob last night. I think I will make a taco bowl tomorrow and hope my kid likes it!

We're having literally H's entire family over for dinner tonight because his uncle and family are in from out of town. It will be crazy, but I'm glad we are just ordering pizza, so it should be a fun night as long as nobody in the family starts talking politics! And DS should have a great time playing with his cousins, so at least they'll hopefully wear him out

It's a minimum of 20 minutes until dinner is done. With the crockpot I can walk in the house and plate dinner in 3 minutes

sheilathetank It has a crockpot too to use. I think it is just the difference in never having to stir or worry about boiling over. I don't need to check the oven and turn meat over etc. No full pots of boiling water to pour out. Also it will cook different meals much quicker like corn on the cob yesterday cooked in 20 mins with reaching pressure too
