Well. I don't need my coffee anymore. I was walking towards the side door to lock it when the handle jiggled and the door opened. It was mh, he forgot his work key card but daaaamn I had a heart attack.
I had a great weekend. The BBQ was nice and the weather cooperated so we were able to have a campfire. I felt old though. Our friends were still hanging out and I'm over here thinking "I love you guys but still? It's 11 and the baby is going to be up in two hours and I want to go sleep." Sunday was adventure day. We explored a new hiking area/nature preserve that's attached to a college. The trails were more rough and steep than predicted but ds was a champ.
It's suppose to rain all day so after Circle Time it will be a chill day. I really need to vacuum upstairs. I saw dust bunnies that are better categorized as dust elephants under my dresser 😬

My babies started at their new daycare today and both did great at dropoff! I know this won't continue for W but I'm relieved to have a good start. I'm off today and am doing all the errands and chores since the kids are in daycare! So far I've hit Target, the grocery, and the post office. M's urgent care visit yesterday resulted in nothing more than a cold. Hopefully it will clear up soon and we can all get some sleep!

Lakes, i am the same way about visitor staying too late. My MIL was over Thursday night and didn't leave until after 10. TEN. On a fucking weeknight. Oh hell no. And of all nights? I'm up at 4:30 on Friday mornings. I need my house evacuated WELL before 10. Glad you had a good BBQ though. Did you do s'mores? I'm assuming yes, because otherwise, I don't understand the point of a campfire. We had a good weekend too. My big girl was, for the most part, pretty nice to me. And my dad took our whole family out to dinner yesterday. It was the first time I've see my sister's since Mothers Day. She's be a weirdo lately and missed our 4th of July party, another family get-together, and in general has been an odd egg. Seemed fine yesterday though. Who knows.

Lakes, sounds like a great weekend! Rainy here today too, but the weather couldn't have been better for the weekend. carrots, so great that DC dropoff went well! Good for you for getting all that done already! judyblume14, our night time schedule is the reason I don't see any friends anymore. "Oh, you want to go for drinks? Oh, and we'll be out after 8? Well, I can't have more than one and I need to be home by 7 sooooooo, no." I'm glad you had a nice day with family. Monday's are usually my Friday since tues/weds are my set days off. DH and I are both playing hookie. We had our biggest event of the year yesterday and we've both worked for months to prep for it. We had almost 1700 people at the event and I haven't heard 1 complaint yet, so all the planning and logistics that went into it seem to have been worth it. C had a fever all weekend though so I have the ultimate mom guilt for not being with her . She's still sleeping, at 930, so I think she's fighting something. No other symptoms though other than some crankiness.

11 Lakes? Ugh. Go hoooooome people. Even when we DH and I went out on our date night we were back and in bed by 10:30 lol. Yay for a good dropoff carrots! I agree judyblume14 - the only reason for a campfire is s'mores lol.

We had a big bbq at MILs house last night and DD had an absolute blast running around with her cousins. The only downside is that DH was feeling "off" and bowed out so I had to solo parent with the 2 kids. Ugh. Manchild. I wasn't feeling great on Saturday, but did I complain? No, I sucked it up. ::sigh:: The past few nights B has been so tired because he hasn't wanted to take his late afternoon nap. This meant by the time we got to our bedtime nursing session he literally passed out on the boob. Not a chance of putting him down even semi-awake. There goes my efforts in helping him fall asleep by himself. Back to square one I guess.

Thanks ellabee. There is a huge sense of pride that comes out of it, like "yes, I CAN do this and I am." I'm the youngest person in the country to own and operate the type of facility we do, and most are owned by men. A lot of people didn't believe in me when I took over in 2013, but a lot more did. It's nice to prove the naysayers wrong. Also, I just looked at the monitor. She's not sleeping. She's playing quietly with her feet 😂😂😂

pibblemom, congrats on your successful work event! Ugh - seriously on the evening schedule. Here's ours: 6:15 - Everyone gets home 6:16 - Big girl walks in the door and immediately throw a tantrum that she doesn't want to eat 6:17 - One of us deals with big girl's tantrum, other one of us starts cooking 6:45 - Eat dinner (while I feed baby A) 7:30 - finally finishing eating because big girl is a snail. Spend 15 minutes explaining to big girl that she can't watch tv because it's bath time 7:45 - bath 8:00 - I'm nursing baby A, while DH get's big girl ready for bed. 8:15 - baby is in crib, the rest of us are finishing big girl's bedtime (book, chapstik, prayer, song) 8:30 - time to clean up from dinner, wash dishes/bottles, pack lunches, prep bottles, maybe prep tomorrow's dinner, maybe laundry, maybe some other chore, etc 10:00 - holy shit, how is it already 10? I need to go to bed immediately. H watches tv or plays nintendo.

Also ellabee, now that C does know how to fall asleep on her own, nursing to sleep doesn't seem to hinder that at all. She can take it or leave it. Some days she does, other days she's wide awake and playing with her food before I put her down. I seem to remember B was able to fall asleep on his own before? Hopefully it won't hinder him at all

I'm probably just letting the anxiety talk when I say I feel like my work will be undone.

pibblemomGlad the event went well yesterday. E was up at 6:30 this morning. So I had to entertain her while I was getting ready. Work is so busy even though my boss is out today.

There was a 5 week old getting dropped off at daycare in M's class today. My heart hurt for her momma having to go back to work so soon and I can't get her out of my head.
Also curious to get your thoughts. I felt super guilty sending M in with a cold seeing a 5 week old there. M has no fever or any of the other "stay home" requirements but that new baby has no immune system yet! Would you consider changing when you send your kid in knowing there was a baby that tiny in the class? Just wondering how others feel about this.

For us, that's fever-free, vomit-free, and diarrhea-free for 24 hours. I know it feels shitty, but I would not impose stricter requirements on myself because of a new baby. Rules are rules. And I follow ther rules. I don't make up extra rules for myself becuase I have like 16 hours of PTO left and can't take unpaid time off for my kid having a cold.

Would you consider changing when you send your kid in knowing there was a baby that tiny in the class? Just wondering how others feel about this. If I had the OPTION to keep baby home to keep the other baby safe without any stress on me financially, yes I probably would reconsider. But if I only had a set number of days off etc, I would not burden myself because someone else had to go back to work so soon. However, there are 0 day cares around here that take 5 week olds, not that being 6 weeks makes that much difference. At the very least I would ask the infant teachers to keep my baby away from the tiny baby, and let them know they were sneezy, sniffly, etc. I would say I feel bad for the mom going back to work at 5 weeks, but then I remember I had to. Thank goodness for grandmas.

That's where I'm at too judyblume14 and pibblemom. I made sure to detail her symptoms to the teacher and let her know M hasn't had a fever and had a clear ear check yesterday. I mean regardless of the other kids, I would always rather keep my kids home if they don't feel great but since they go to daycare so I can work for $$$, that doesn't happen!
