The boys are up early. The pedi threw some major shade that they aren't pottytrained yet, so every 30 minutes will he spent in the bathroom today.

We met our new niece yesterday! She's one of the cutest newborns I've ever met, but something about meeting her brought up a lot of stuff from when DS was born that I didn't realize I wasn't entirely over. Since I'm seeing my doctor at the end of the month anyway, I think I should see if she has any ideas for affordable counseling.
No big plans today except we're finally getting rid of DH's van! He's been trying to sell it without any luck (mostly because I'm fairly sure he's been asking WAY too much for it), so we're taking it to Carmax after he gets out of work. Even if he only gets $200 for it like we did for my old car, at least it'll be out of the driveway.

That's more or less what we've been doing with DS and he has his good days and then he has days where he pees in his pullup almost immediately after a potty trip. FX it clicks for your boys fairly quickly!

littlelion 69 degrees sounds amazing, but that's because we live in the land of eternal summer. It is always humid and is normally in the high 80s to low 100s. I agree with you that fall weather needs to stick in the fall though! I miss living in a place with 4 seasons. fosterlove Good luck with the potty training! We liked the book "Oh Crap! Potty training" - it had some really good recommendations and helped build my confidence. As for us - not a whole lot going on this weekend. Swimming is definitely in the plans for tomorrow - it's been in the high 90s lately and the pool is the perfect place when it gets that hot!

I gave up on potty training the one twin for the day. He has no interest. He peed on the carpet as though he was writing his name in the snow. We are off to the zoo instead.

I gave up on potty training the one twin for the day. He has no interest. He peed on the carpet as though he was writing his name in the snow. We are off to the zoo instead. I would start by repeatedly talking about how it is time to "say good bye to diapers and hello to underwear". I did this with my DD and talked about it for 2 weeks and read our Henry potty book. It's about a boy named Henry who starts to go on the potty and is happy to be a big boy at the end picking out his own underwear at the store. Even though she is a girl, DD was FASCINATED by this book and looked at it on her own constantly. Then I brought out the potty that has been in the bathroom the whole time and we started no underwear days. I did 2 days of that and was frustrated. So I bought training underwear off Amazon that holds some pee and at least gives me time to get her to the bathroom. I loved those underwear and also, I don't worry about sugar (I realize others do), but an M and M or jelly bean after she went pee was the trick and she started going and has been trained for nearly a year now and she is 3. Maybe try it?

Hey guys.
Haven't been around much this week. I have still been not feeling great and it is so hard to get through the day at work. I called my Dr and she is going to refer me to a new neurologist since my other one can't see patients anymore. Hopefully that will be quick.
I am at work now, but off for two days for the long weekend and hope I can do something fun. It is supposed to rain all day on Monday so we will see.

Today is all about packing for our trip. We're headed to Orlando/ Disney tomorrow! Our flight leaves really early tomorrow morning so I'm not sure how the kids are going to do, but FX it all goes well.

Omg. Work must have finally gotten the memo that I am an awful state employee since twiddling my thumbs all day doesn't work for me. Ever since I went back two weeks ago, they've been working me hard.
So hi! Hope you all are well

I am struggling with a moral dilemma. I was outside cleaning off our patio today. I was flipping up cushions to clean them off, and I found 5 baby mice and saw the mom run off scared. I know they are pests, and they are literally right outside our door and I don't want adult mice entering my home. But I feel so terrible killing helpless baby mice. If we move them further away from our house, will the mom be able to find them? Will she even come back to them now that we have disrupted the habitat? Our dogs spend a lot of time outside, and I am also concerned (grossed out) that they may eat them.
What would toddler parents do?

birdie oh man that's tough. I'd say kill them. But how, I have no idea. I feel bad killing adult mice and leave that to my h.

footloose I hope you feel better soon! billmurray have a great time at Disney! birdie oh boy, I have no idea. I wouldn't be able to kill the babies, so I would lean toward relocation, but I know nothing about what the right thing is to do. Sorry you're in that situation.

We had some big storms Fri and Sat and we now have much cooler temps like some of you. Our area is so humid in the summer, so I love these reprieves from the high temps and moisture in the air.
I am finally down to my last week of summer school! I only have to work 3.5 days too, since my sister is getting married next weekend and we're leaving Thursday midday to go out. This is going to be a great week!

birdie That's a tough one. I wouldn't be able to kill the babies - I am sure my H would. I would probably call the local humane society or a pet store and see if they would want them? Sometimes people keep mice as pets, you know? If that didn't work, I'd make H deal with it and say I don't want to know the details.

Tip: don't let your toddler try a york peppermint chocolate. My cousin gave that out in the goody bag from her party today. He had one bite, spit it out and spent the next 1.5 hrs crying and keeping his mouth open w tongue hanging out. Even after he shut it globs of drool would leak out. I had to keep him shirtless and wipe the trail he'd leave behind. I googled mint allergy he worried me so. It's been a long weekend.

littlelion Noted! DH and my mom actually looooove York peppermint chocolates, so I feel like it is definitely in the realm of possibility that one of them would give a bite to DS. I'm going to make sure that doesn't happen. Your poor DS! As for us - the weekend was not so fun. DH came down with the stomach flu late on Saturday night - so after being excited to have him back home from being away for nearly 2 weeks...I ended up having to quarantine him in the master suite and keep DS away. I also have been wearing one of those face masks and washing my hands like a million times a day. Do not want to catch that while pregnant, and I really don't want a toddler with the stomach flu. 😩😩 ETA: fixed words...autocorrect...

Sorry your LO had such a rough experience littlelion! V likes peppermint patties, but in general he likes a lot of strong flavors, including salt and vinegar, which is probably not the norm.
