fierymama , is the super high quote you got from roto rooter? I'm not a home owner, but I remember my sister having plumbing/ sewage issues. She initially called roto rooter and was told everything needed to be replaced and given a crazy cost. Then she called an independent contractor, and it turned out to be a very easy fix for a couple hundred rather than thousands of dollars (vs 10K or something like that). She ended up complaining and threatening to contact consumer affairs/ better business bureau and roto rooter actually refunded her for the initial visit they did. The independent contractor told her that the way the roto rooter business is set up, they are basically encouraged to scam people. So anyway, if you are basing the cost on roto rooter, I'd get a second opinion. It was roto-rooter. They are basically saying we need to replace our entire line inside and out. Talking 15K, 13K with a discount *but I don't know if the discount is for cash or what*. H plans to call a few other companies today to see if we can get someone else out for a 2nd opinion/quote. Unfortunately, no one can see what the status of the line outside really is like because there is a silicone liner in it, so most likely, that will need to be dug up to inspect anyways.

Betweenthelines I'm glad you're getting the car fixed but that sucks about it being on your insurance. Hopefully they follow up and you get it off your insurance.

Haven't been able to catch up but hopefully this afternoon I'll have a little time to myself.
I had a decent birthday.. It was just busy. Thursday is my busiest day anyway so to add on all of the wonderful phone calls, texts and Facebook posts to respond to and get things ready for some friends coming over, I barely got to enjoy the day. Eh, that's alright.
I told H awhile ago that I want to get to a NY Rangers hockey game this season so that will be my gift from him when the time comes. Tickets are stupid expensive but we're just going to bite the bullet and do it.

I was gone all day yesterday for my mom's birthday. We didn't get home until after 10 and w wasn't asleep until 11. I've never kept him out that late (he napped late thankfully) but I'm interested to see what today is going to look like.

fierymama, +1 to getting another quote. you might want to check plumbing companies and local ad's for smaller businesses.

DH is currently trying to plan a long weekend with his band + wives. At a beach house Dave Grohl use to own in the 90's. Because of course he is. The house even uses this fact as a selling point of the house. ETA: My real life reaction:

I have a hair appt this afternoon and I think I'll just be getting a trim and adding layers but a small part of me wants to chop a good bit off. Do it! It's hair! It grows back I know. Mine grows fast too. The problem is that shorter hair seems to be even more work for me. It does this ugly uneven wave thing and there is so much of it that it takes forever to straighten or curl all of it. Now that it is longer, it looks pretty decent if I dry it most of the way through and let the rest air dry. That doesn't work if my hair is shorter. This is my first appointment with a new stylist so I may just do a trim and add long layers and get her opinion.

I it didn't have 6-8 weeks maintenance cuts on the back I would totally go back to it. It really felt great to try out a completely new look.

Definitely stick to your usual until you see if she does a good job.

It is Friday, thank God. I had a mini meltdown yesterday because I finally had motivation to go to the gym, but I couldn't find any workout pants. Living out of boxes is the fucking suck. I ended up running to Marshall's to buy some workout pants in addition to a cheese grater and a journal.

Pizzaslut, I totally feel you on the uneven wave with hair. Shorter hair is a LOT of work for me. I like it, but there is a lot of strategic drying and styling when I go shorter. With long hair it takes a while to dry, but styling is WAY easier.

I'm going to my local brewery for lunch today and I'm excited. I also have to go to a place to pick out stone for our porch pillars on the house. Maybe an oil change on my car if they can get me in and out in an hour or less. If there's a long wait, I'll go Monday.

Betweenthelines, Hmm.......we do have a dresser we use, but it's not very big at all. Each person gets one drawer. Most of my drawer is undergarments and pants. I will think about the storage thing. Thanks!

Tomorrow is the day we hang out with DH's friends... and his ex-wife.
To prepare, I have added a bit more makeup to my bag and made sure my ass looks amazing in jeans.
