How pregnant are you? 37+2
Tell us how terrible you feel here: pretty bad! I feel like my mood has lifted a little bit, I think it must be the last kick or surge in hormones getting me ready for baby. Last week I got everything wrapped up for the family- final appointments for my kids (they see the doctor and SLP often), dog saw the vet, stocked up on house goods i.e. toilet paper, pantry snacks, etc, now we are able to relax a little while we wait for baby.
Anyone feel like their body is getting ready for labor? Yes every day. I have never had my water spontaneously break but I'm walking around feeling like it could happen, like I have a water balloon just hanging on my cervix lol. The waddle is also in full effect, I get looks of pity pretty much everywhere I go.
QOTW- what are some things you're looking forward to after your baby(ies) arrive? I'm so excited to have a family of five and to have a daughter! I'm really excited for my boys to have a baby sister. I'm also looking forward to some smoked salmon, a good charcuterie board and wine. And unlimited coffee!

Alexa is 3 weeks old tomorrow. She's a good eater and a good sleeper and slept for 5 hours last night. Wish she was a better burper though. I'm trying every position and usually Ill get 1 per bottle but clearly she needs more than that. She is starting to make eye contact and is growing. No more preemie clothes!

How pregnant are you? 38+1
Tell us how terrible you feel here: I'm done. I'm so done. đĢ
Anyone feel like their body is getting ready for labor? Nope. My BH are still few and far between. I'll probably have a cervical check done at my appt on Monday to see if there's anything going on down there.
QOTW- what are some things you're looking forward to after your baby(ies) arrive? Wearing clothes that fit. Not having a giant belly that gets in my way all the time. Alcohol. Coffee. Sleeping laying down/on my side. No more sausage feet. đ

How pregnant are you? 37+1
Tell us how terrible you feel here: Throughout the day, I have brief periods of "I got this, it's not too bad." Then reality sets in and I'm miserable again. The feeling of my skin ripping is too much at times; I wish I could just rub lidocaine all over my belly. Sleeping has hit an all time low. I'm up using the restroom at least 5 times a night and getting out of bed is seriously a workout. Plus, when I switch from right to left or left to right, I can feel his weight shift and it's not fun.
Anyone feel like their body is getting ready for labor? Sometimes yes, other times no. I had my OB appt yesterday morning and there's absolutely nothing going on. My body just likes having BH for the hell of it.
QOTW- what are some things you're looking forward to after your baby(ies) arrive? Wine, beer, deli meat, no big belly in the way of everything, no hip/back pain, walking without a waddle, getting back to working out. The list could go on and on.

How pregnant are you? 37w6d so basically 38 weeks which just feels crazy!!
Tell us how terrible you feel here: I feel sorta stuck in the middle of everything and nothing. On the one hand really anxious for baby to come, and on the other hand I don't feel prepared or ready at all. ALL the glorious things y'all are listing as well đ
Sorry for the coming wall of text but I am not doing too great emotionally right now. I've been struggling with feeling down and depressed for a while now (months) but kept thinking I just needed <fill in a blank> and it'd get better, but it just goes up and down again. And I am feeling very socially isolated lately. It also feeds my anxiety and IF/PgAL PTSD sometimes. Lately some days don't really know what to do with myself. I had thought things would look up once my leave started, but that didn't quite happen. Maybe I just have/had to much going on (getting laid off unexpectedly, breaking my ankle, the scares with babygirl, not having been able to get the house ready for baby etc, my mum having her heart attack and ending up in the hospital, it HAS been a lot to deal with), but with my hx of depression etc I do worry a little. I've considered contacting the psychologist I saw for several months late last year but haven't as I don't have any means of getting there and I also am just not sure whether he'd be the right person for me (which is part of the reason I stopped going last year). I just dunno..
Anyone feel like their body is getting ready for labor? NOOOO I don't at all feel like my body is getting ready for labor yet. Which worries me since it seems so many of you do have signs already even those who are due later then I am. I am worried baby is just too comfi and won't want to make an appearance until I am like 42wks and that I will be induced!
QOTW- what are some things you're looking forward to after your baby(ies) arrive? Being able to hold and see my babygirl for real! Also: not being huge no more and hopefully no more endless bathroom breaks and hip/back pain messing up my sleep (I will ignore the fact this will likely be simple switched for BF breaks instead heh). Being able to eat a giant steak again! Not getting nauseous after eating, too.

How pregnant are you? 37 weeks Tell us how terrible you feel here: Boo to everything about these last few weeks. Sore, tired, heartburn, swollen, BH contractions. Anyone feel like their body is getting ready for labor? Highly doubtful. I'm having BH contractions but I think that's more from not getting to rest enough. Baby is really low so I hope things are happening, but with DS I went in to my induction at 0cm & 0% effaced. So unless things are completely different this time... QOTW- what are some things you're looking forward to after your baby(ies) arrive? Not having this belly Sleeping in whatever position I want. Being able to comfortably play with DS on the floor again. Newborn snuggles!

How pregnant are you? 36w5d
Tell us how terrible you feel here: tired, huge, heartburn, all the Braxton Hicks in the evening, still gaining weight
Anyone feel like their body is getting ready for labor? Hard to tell. Braxton Hicks every night and when he's positioned in the center of my belly, I get a ton of pressure and pain in my pelvis.
QOTW- what are some things you're looking forward to after your baby(ies) arrive? Sushi!!! Deli meat and goat cheese/blue cheese. Holding DS1 in my lap and not worrying about him kicking my belly when I'm lying down. Seeing DS1 interact with new baby. Not constantly obsessing and worrying over movement.

How pregnant are you? 37 weeks Tell us how terrible you feel here: I just feel huge and uncomfortable. It's hard to sleep. I wake up multiple times and can't find a good sleeping position. I have to pee all the time. I think he's running out of room because I can feel his feet and legs kicking out of my stomach. If I rub them he'll move them but sometimes it's painful. Anyone feel like their body is getting ready for labor? Nope. I feel the same. QOTW- what are some things you're looking forward to after your baby(ies) arrive? I just can't wait to snuggle with my little one. It took us 3 1/2 years and a lot of work to get pregnant and now I just can't wait to hold him. As for myself, I'm looking forward to not having hip pain, sharp pain in my pelvis, and loosing the belly. happyfeet9, Wine and cheese (or champagne and cheese) sounds amazing! ((( muscari,))) Hang in there!

muscari huge hugs. There are so many changes happening for you that it's not surprising you're feeling that way. My concern for you is that it won't get better/will turn into ppd once baby gets here. I think it would be a good idea to talk to someone, maybe a new therapist?

I'll do a complete update after my appt today but I wanted to add @starzia and muscari , ppd/ppa is something I'm worried about for myself too, partly bc you never know who it's going to affect but also because of all the pgal brain and how different our lives are in having this baby now is going to be compared to when my first should have been born- my support system in Chicago is essentially gone- my bff lived across the street, she has now moved out of state, we moved to a neighborhood that's essentially suburbia, so harder for any other friends to visit, my friends from work aren't really around, my other bff lives so far away [1.5hrs], I am still bitter at my family for the way they "supported" me through my loss in making it about them, DH should have had 4 months off withh the baby but instead he gets two weeks... I cried a lot in the beg of this pregnancy bc of how different things were going to be, and I know I just need to put my big girl pants on and deal, which I am, but it just worries me that these feelings will come back full force if things get hard (baby has colic, or I have a rough recovery, etc). Add in a history of teenage depression from 18 years ago and then situational depression from when I initially moved to Chicago... woof.

How pregnant are you? 37w 1d Tell us how terrible you feel here: I just plain hurt. My hips, my back, my inner thighs. I can't seem to sleep at night so I feel like I am essentially getting nothing done all day because I seem to nap at all hours. I'm also a little annoyed with my MW because she won't do any cervical checks or anything else until 39 wks. But that appointment won't be with her, because she will be out of town. I also want to know why her and my abdominal measurements are so different.... I have however figured out that if I physically move baby as I roll that it doesn't hurt as bad. However my hips and pelvis still pop when I roll. Also I had a REALLY strong contraction yesterday while driving home from my appointment. I had been having BH and then that one was so bad that I actually had to pull over for a bit. Anyone feel like their body is getting ready for labor? I wish, but I really don't think so. I know I am slowly loosing my mucus plug, but my BH aren't getting much stronger or coming more often then they used to, and although I have been getting cramping most evenings, it doesn't seem to be leading to anything else. I think baby is too comfy and will hang out past it's due date, which scares me. H was a big baby and also has a big head. In fact he was so stubborn that he was a CS because the bones in his head wouldn't shift so he couldn't come down the birth canal. My family has a history of small heads, I can still wear kid's hats. LOL. And he seems to think baby will be over 8 lbs closer to 9. I have told him many times that he needs to shut his mouth!!! But since they won't give me an US to figure out growth or weight this is anyone's guess. QOTW- what are some things you're looking forward to after your baby(ies) arrive? Baby cuddles! A glass of wine and good cheeses again! Sushi. Knowing what it is! Seeing my husband interact with baby. Reading with baby. Sleeping on my stomach again.

How pregnant are you? 37+5
Tell us how terrible you feel here: this made me lol
Hip & tailbone pain. So much pressure on my crotch. Feel like I have To pee every five min so I hold it for half an hr and am convinced I'm going to pee a waterfall... and it's like a drop. I spit more than I pee lately đŠ His kicks are hurting my ribs and hip bone. Like what are you doing in there??? Legs going in different directions??
Anyone feel like their body is getting ready for labor? Nope. Had dr check me- nothing happening. But he said baby is really low- at -1 station so that's why I feel pressure. But that doesn't help me dilate so, whatever kid. đ
QOTW- what are some things you're looking forward to after your baby(ies) arrive? Snuggles!! Seeing what he looks like! Being away from work for an extended period of time. Sleeping on my stomach. Snuggles! I can't wait to meet him.

How pregnant are you? 36+4
Tell us how terrible you feel here: I was going through body systems that are messed up from pregnancy with H. Headaches, exhaustion, insomnia, heartburn, short of breath at times, stomach is obviously uncomfortable, constipation vs diarrhea depending on the day, hemorrhoids, lots of pelvic pressure, charley horses, and swollen or sore feet if I'm upright to much. Oh third tri, you're a bitch.
Anyone feel like their body is getting ready for labor? No. Still BH at times, some of them are more uncomfortable but not true contractions. I was 1 cm and 40% effaced at my check up. Same I was with DS at this point and he didn't come until 39+5, so it doesn't mean much.
QOTW- what are some things you're looking forward to after your baby(ies) arrive? Wine. Seeing DS with the baby (FX it goes well...). Finding out what the baby is. Honestly, newborn phase is not my favorite but I know it doesn't last forever. I'm hoping to try to enjoy it more this time.

king26 and addymac I'm so jealous! My MW refuses to check for dilation or effacement until week 39. Hello! I'm hoping to not make it there?! blah Honestly, my Dr was like I start to check around 38w. We can do it today or next week. I was like eh let's just check. And then dH was like does him being low help or anything? Dr was like đ¤ˇđŧââī¸ You could be 3cm dilated for weeks or be nothing and have your water break tonight. Doesn't matter. So I was like WHY DONT YOU HAVE A CRYSTAL BALL SIR!!!! So I get knowing would just be nice, it is just pointless, unless I was like well on my way, haha

The doctor I saw last week said they'd check around 39 weeks unless I was having a lot of contractions. He said it's uncomfortable so they don't like to do it too often but I'm like I want to know! He's not my regular OB though, I see her tomorrow so I'm gonna ask again.

Just realized I never checked in.
How pregnant are you? 37 weeks
Tell us how terrible you feel here: Eh, pretty much all the usual stuff, sore and tired and having some BHs and lots of pressure in my pelvis.
Anyone feel like their body is getting ready for labor? Nope. But I honestly have no clue what labor is like so I don't even know what to look for. My contractions never even last long enough to time them though, so I feel like nothing is really happening.
QOTW- what are some things you're looking forward to after your baby(ies) arrive? Baby snuggles and finally seeing what she looks like! I'm so curious about her little face and I know she has hair (they could see it on the u/s) but I want to know what color! MH was blonde as a kid and I have always had very dark hair but my mom is naturally blonde, so it could go either way, but I picture her with dark hair like I had as a baby.

Oh, also, I officially weigh more than DH đâšī¸đŠđ
I know, I know. I'm not fat I'm pregnant but goddamn that was a little sad. I also gained six pounds in one week! I'm blaming my swollen feet. They weren't this bad last week, so let's go with that, right? Or baby is going to be the fattest thing ever đŗ

It's just a mental thing, seeing the stupid number on the scale. I just wanted to really stay in the recommended range because I'm TERRIBLE at working out normally, so I was hoping less weight gain would be helpful. Oh well. I'll use working out as "me time", right?? Yeah- I started sleeping on the couch so I can have them elevated all the time, but 10min of standing / walking and they blow up again! Doesn't help that I'm on my feet a lot at work. I try to elevate or prop them up as much as I can but they're not above my heart at work all night so, it's not suuuuper helpful. Oh well. Just a few more weeks!!

addymac, kristyw, I hate the weight gain. It's killing me. I won't be as heavy as DH but my younger brother only has 5 pounds on me right now and if I end up weighing more then him I'll lose it. He's a foot taller then me and in great shape but it'll suck to weigh more then he does. Hopefully I don't gain an additional 5 pounds in the next 3 weeks. I feel like I have to be maxed out by now. I can only gain 2 more pounds to stay within the doctors recommended guidelines for me and I'm really trying but it's summer and I like ice cream!
