We are at home playing Monopoly Junior. I'm glad DD enjoys board games but I wish she would pick ones that didn't last forever.

DS is at camp. I've finally unpacked some stuff. I have intentions to get the house organized more but now I'm watching Snatched. I'm in this lazy funk, I'll blame it on summer.

@chair I hope your wrist feels better soon!
When I was walking into work this morning I noticed my foot kind of hurt. Nothing bad when I'm sitting here but, it hurts when I walk around. I really don't want to go to the doctor so I hope resting it will work.

Carpal tunnel and tendinitis. I have a brace and lots of pain meds. If it's not better by Monday she wants me back in. I think she was really concerned about how fast the pain has increased and the loss of mobility. Hand specialist may have been mentioned. FX my wrist feels better soon. Yikes! Hopefully limiting it's use with the brace will help rest it enough to feel better.

SO and I are hiking today. It's become our thing together.
I'm trying to convince him that we should go somewhere for dinner that we wouldn't usually go with DS. We shall see if I'm successful. He loves just being at home and eating on the patio, but that's work lol. We're enjoying our time as just us.

Use paper plates and plastic utensils so there's no cleanup.

I need to call the dermatologist today because the rash from hell will. not. go. away. It'll look better, and then just get worse again. Ugh. I guess the upside is I have pretty great insurance, so at least all these doctor visit co-pays and different ointments are not too bad, but dragging a two year old to the doctor repeatedly is not really my idea of a good time.

jillywilly I've been getting anxiety about taking my 15th month old out sometimes since she's so mobile now and hates when she can't run around places.

That was me last year a little bit but I was more excited for him than anything. I'm just a smidge concerned this year tbh because he's kind of obsessed with his kindergarten teacher so he keeps saying he misses her & doesn't want a new teacher so not sure how that's gonna go. He's pretty easily adaptable though so I think the excitement on the first day is probably gonna take over with being back at school & he should be fine. Hopefully.

This is how DD is about her preschool teacher and the kids she went to school with. I am thinking she will be fine once school starts and she meets her new teacher and friends, but right now she is pretty anxious over it.

I went out on a limb and bought cauliflower tater-tots last night. I love cauliflower so they sound delicious to me. DD loves tater-tots but isn't a big fan of veggies other than raw carrots, so I am hoping that these will "trick" her into a eating a vegetable. She has an insanely sensitive palate though so I am not confident she will actually think they are tater-tots. I am just hoping she will like them.
I'll be cooking them tonight with dinner, so we'll see how it goes.

Like @chair , my phone and the PBS Kids app have been lifesavers. ETA - and snacks. When we had an appointment late in the day and I knew it would probably be a little bit of a wait, I was a mean mommy and didn't give an afternoon snack, instead I packed Cheerios which kept him occupied for a little.

They are by Green Giant. They had broccoli & cheese ones too. But I figured those would look a lot different than a tater-to because of the green color.

She does for about 5 minutes. Usually at night when I'm cleaning up I'll put on Sesame Street and she will watch that for a bit. I definitely always bring a ton of snacks when we go places. She loves food!

Yes. This was me when DD was a toddler. Curious George and Goldfish FTW.

DD and I made rice & bean burritos to freeze for lunches. We put her vegan cheese in them instead of regular so we didn't have to separate. She's responding fairly well to dairy free, but we gave her corn on the cob with butter twice over the weekend and went to too many fast food places so we had to give a dose of miralax. We still aren't positive her constipation is solely dairy, but going dairy free has help quite a bit. We're still trying to find a balance.

Hi! It's still Wednesday here for 45 more minutes.
We went to the children's museum today but we had to leave early because my son was acting up. Parents of older kids, tell me they start listening at some point. Please.
Tonight was a little better. He had dance at five. Of course it started pouring right before we got there. Thankfully I had an umbrella in my car! I was the only parent in the waiting area so I used that time to do a little bit of reading. Next week is the last class of the summer session so we'll get to go in and watch them dance towards the end of class. My son really liked the summer session because they added jazz in addition to the tap and ballet that he has taken the past two years. (Jazz starts at age 5&up) They released their fall schedule and they are not doing a tap and jazz combo class anymore. That is the class my son wanted to take 😫 So now he will have to decide between tap/ballet and jazz/ballet. He likes ballet too so it's not that big of a deal. It just sucks that they stopped offering tap/jazz as soon as he was old enough to take it.
