Whelp. W has a fever now.
I found out whilst pretending to be a dog and sniffing at his ears to wake him. Confirmed with thermometer.

Aww poor W starbuck! Hope his fever passes soon. I just took a nap and it was beyond lovely. DH had B out on some errands and C was down simultaneously. She is currently rooting around in the TV console pulling out DVDs. Thanks, kid, more stuff to put away.

starbuck I have the cutest visual of you and W, just being mommy and toddler. I LOVE that you took your twin free time to invest in the bank of W and Mommy.... I bet he'll remember late night astronauts and cookies for always. It's too bad he has a fever now, damn that stinks.

Just putting AV down. It's awfully early (well she went down at 6 but is stirring), but they both only took two half hour naps today. The second nap would've been longer but I watched my brothers kids this afternoon and apparently 10 and 11 year olds don't understand what "let's try to be quiet" means. But for the record it does not mean "let's stand over the sleeping babies and talk about how cute they are at a volume 7 while simultaneously playing with their noise making toys".
Kids, they're cute. Not for the faint of heart though.
I think H is going to be exhausting the remainder of his FMLA at work ("bonding with babies in their first year"). Work is giving him a hard time about using PTO. Like why give us PTO if you don't want us to use it. You give me a lunch break too, should I not be taking that either? Anyway, he's going to do a combo of shortened work days and one day off per week. Just because. Because babies and because they're assholes (work, not the babies) and if they are gonna break balls I know how to break then back.

Here's the whole reason I even belong here Waking from nap like "oh hey mom" (ETA not that you guys would say anything but I feel the need to clarify. They only nap with pillows and blankets because I stand/sit right next to the couch (yes couch, nap time for two is rough) for the entire nap - which is usually only 30 mins. It's a good "excuse" for me to not do anything and take a break)

Ok. Came to catch up but my baby reminded me that she can't be a proper barnacle if she's not attached to me with 75% of her body. Let me try again....

Well today sucked giant donkey balls. It started out fine. I was super slow at work which I was happy about since today was my last day before vacation. I had all my work done by lunchtime. My plan was to get a burger from the food truck, mess around online for a few, go pump and then gather up some emails to forward to the person covering for me so he can followup on a couple of issues while I'm out. Well, my burger was gross and gave me a super upset stomach, so I spent the time between lunch and pumping in the bathroom. Get back from pumping and I have over 15 new emails, all of which are some form of "OMG THE WORLD WILL END IF YOU DON'T GET THIS DONE RIGHT MEOW!!!" And of course I have an hour left in my day. I get through everything, but then I get an email telling me that one of my issues has been solved, which is great, but I needed to submit 35 invoices ASAP. I ended up having to stay an hour late to get all my shit done. Meanwhile MH is texting me that DS2 wouldn't take a bottle at all from him (he's off all this week and next) and hasn't slept a wink the entire day (by this time it's 3pm and he woke up at 8) and asking me every 15 minutes when I think I'm going to be home. I finally get home and the place is a fucking mess. Like, not just toys, but clothes and garbage all over the floor. Shit that spilled that was never cleaned up, a sink full of dirty dishes even though I emptied the dishwasher last night. Just, JFC, what the hell happened here?! I try to get the baby down for a nap but gave up around 5. I go downstairs and MH is trying to put together this wagon we've had for like 2 years, but he refuses to read directions and is doing it wrong and getting all frustrated and dropping F bombs left and right. I ask him a question and he bites my head off. Later I'm digging through the kids' laundry basket looking for pjs and I find that coral shirt that I just bought from the Nordstrom anniversary sale. I wore it once and I guess MH decided to wash it, except like I said before, homeboy doesn't read fucking directions ever and he dried the shirt when it clearly states on the tag to lay flat to dry and now it's all fucked up. I looked online and they're out of both the coral color and my size. I may have cried. This is why I only buy myself $6 tshirts from JC Penny. And just to make things worse, it's 90 GD degrees out today and since this is Seattle we don't have AC and I'm sweating like a whore in church even though its nearly 9pm. Fuck. If you made it through all that, thank you. I realize my day wasn't truly that terrible in the grand scheme of things, but I'm tired and hot and cranky and I hate everything right now. TL;DR

Girl, that's a super shitty day jubilantsquirrel, I'm so sorry. I hate when absolutely everything turns upside down. I hope that you're laying under a fan to cool you off. If not, take a 30 cold shower, ITS THE BEST on a hot day. And homeboy husband needs to read directions, like why do nothing except shrink/ruin laundry, no dude. I hope tomorrow is better. How about some funny gifs

jubilantsquirrel teach me your ways. I would have lost my shit entirely after a day like that. That shirt thing is the exact moment in which I probably would have had to put myself in timeout for my H's safety. You deserve the best vacation and many drinks

My MIL always tells me the same story about my FIL, which I find hilarious. He'd watch the kids while she ran errands or when she was out of town and she'd come home to a disaster area. She'd ask him why he didn't clean up the dishes or the mess and he'd say, "I was watching the kids!"

I will say that my FIL did way more than most men do because he had to. My MIL was a badass at her job and traveled a lot once the kids got in elementary school.

Thanks ladies! I'm still salty about my shirt but MH let me sleep in, so that kinda sort almost makes up a little bit for yesterday.
