My baby decided to fake cough while eating grapes this morning. Which naturally scared the life out of me. I mean, they were quartered so logically I know he was ok, but panic dedinitely set in for a second. He thought it was hilarious. 😒

danib after you suggested black beans yesterday, I decided to give J some during dinner. He must have stuffed too many in his mouth and hit his gag reflex because he practically vomited all over himself. Twice. It was not pleasant.

We were up hella (do people still use the term hella?) early today. J was wide awake at 5. Um nope kid. I nursed him. Didn't work. Nursed him on the other side and he finally started to fall asleep. Then, at 6am I heard all this babbling coming through the monitor. I tried to pretend it wasn't happening but finally at 6:20 I got up because both kids were wide awake. I'm thinking early naps for all today.
I need to run to party city and the grocery store today. The next two days it's going to pour so today would be ideal since I'll have both kids in tow. That's really all I've got.

Poor guy H is pretty good about only putting one thing in at a time (now his problem is that he doesn't take bites, so that one thing could be small as a speck of dust or something as big as his fist)

I kept meaning to ask this in the food thread but since it was brought up... is there anything you can do about babies stuffing their face? I try to limit what I put on his tray but he's like a chipmunk and stores everything in his mouth when he grabs for more. He has scared me a couple times with how much he shoves in there.

goldenlove I would say just put 1 or 2 bites on his tray at a time until he slows down. For H, I know I can't give him strips/chunks to gnaw on (like most BLW recommends) because he will just shove the whole thing in his mouth. So I just do what works for him.

DS2 slept from 8:30 to 1:45 last night!!! He was up again at 4, but I'm still really excited about that first stretch. Now if only he could do that more than once every 3 months, this mama would be thrilled. I just need to make it through today and then I'm off until next Thursday! Here are some cute kiddos.

Just more of the same here today, organizing and putting away. I also have to do laundry and pack for our trip to Maine (did I tell y'all we're headed back up there for a couple weeks while DH is out of town? My mom is flying down to help with the drive.) Here's Caroline...I've been terrible at pictures lately but I got some cute ones at the park yesterday. This morning...so proud of herself

Waiting for the pediatrician to call us back. One of the Cars movies is on in the waiting room so W is entranced. He lurves Lightning McQueen.

We hardly got any sleep last night between C and the dog. It was like a constant cycle of C whining then dog choking (on nothing). I'm so grateful C sleeps through the night but I still have to get up to settle him a couple times a night. I just want to sleep for 8 hours straight one day. Even the days H takes the morning, I still end up awake to help with getting a bottle or changing a diaper (even though I'm able to handle everything myself when I do it).
I'm starting to get salty about our morning routines. I get up at 5am, get myself ready, go downstairs and get C's bottle and diaper bag packed and make lunch, go back up and take care of C ALL before H even gets up most of the time. He's supposed to be in charge of breakfast but that only happens about half the time. It's just exhausting.

It's Houston restaurant month and I just spent entirely way too much time browsing all the different movies to narrow down where we'll eat this month.

PED said viral something. She could find zero wrong with him and did a CBC, clear markers for virus. He seems mostly ok. A little fussy.
We came to the new house to start unpacking toys and W wanted to swim today.

Today is the longest day in history. Everything is closed because its Regatta Day (and I have zero interest in going there). H doesn't want to nap (well he does want to, he's exhausted, but is just refusing to nap more than 20 minutes). He wants to be in my arms, except whrn he's in my arms. I cannot keep him happy for more than a few minutes. The first half of the day was fine. But now he's just so overtired it's a mess.

Eczema question: put sunscreen (coppertone babies spf 50) on L yesterday and his skin and his skin today was awful. I washed all the sunscreen off before bed, put on the regular overnight eczema aveeno and he looks awful today.
Could it be the sunscreen? What sunscreens are you using with your sensitive skin babies?

What sunscreens are you using with your sensitive skin babies? Sounds very possible. It's a highly rated sunscreen but I know it has some sensitivity issues. I think aveeno has few reactions and is still pretty good ratings. If that causes issues still then I would go with a mineral based sunblock like Blue Lizard

Darn, it's team happy hour today from 3-4. I guess I better go drink. You know, because of career growth and development.

First most mineral sunscreens aren't since they wear off rather quickly and often don't meet their spf claims but HC is rated 26 (highest rated is 100). It has poor uvb protection, wears off easily in water it seems. I mean I use free stuff so use it but maybe not a day where you know it's going to be a hours of direct sun or something

Well J's fever broke earlier this afternoon and his temp has been perfect for several hours. My parents want the twins tonight and are not deterred by his fever. I mean he is fine so whatever, twin free night lives on!!
I may take W to our neighborhood pool and let H drop them off tonight. W is napping late so he will need to burn some energy before bed time. And then maybe we will let him stay up a little late. Last time we let him have a late night we watched YouTube videos of astronauts jumping around on the moon and ate cookies together. Probably due for another night like that.

Hello all, happy Wednesday!
Just hanging out in J's room as she plays and babbles to herself after nap. We were busy this morning including a trip to IKEA, got a couple high chairs for donation and J a new lamp. It's adorable in her room, it's really the little things for me.
