Also, H works for a major engineering university. He has a number of student workers on the spectrum. Some of my brightest and sweetest students are on the spectrum. Speaking in generalities like that is nasty and demeaning and down right prejudice. RFK Jr. Can go get fucked.

Heres the thing - the very first comment he made about being exposed to something in the environment causing autism? Yeah I actually fully believe that could be the case. Either changing genetics in the uterus due to whatever mom is unknowingly exposing them to (microplastics for example) or stuff in the air after birth or whatever. I do think better screening and genetics are more of the causes but I don’t think environmental in utero is off base. But then he jumps off the deep end into making it some kind of death sentence. Absolutely vile.

If he did, he wouldn't be out there searching for a "cure" and touting vaccine bullshit. He would be looking for an actual understanding of why it happens and campaigning for support for those diagnosed and their families/caregivers.

If anything, this is going to harden support for what Israel is doing. Scapegoating all Jewish people over the murderous actions of the leaders of a foreign country is wrong. I think Gov. Shapiro was one who was vocal against the pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses. It still doesn't justify this. Everyone, Palestinians and Jewish people, should be able to live freely and without fear. |

It has taken a lot of work on all our parts (he was non-verbal until age 4) and he is an amazing human. He is in gen-Ed classes and is acing his freshman year. He has friends who are as neuro-spicy as he is and they are all so accepting of each other and they are thriving. Do I wish his life had been easier? Absolutely. Would I change anything about him now? Nope. I have taken care of kids with much more severe disability. It is not easy. But our kids have value. I do think there are environmental factors either in utero or in previous generations and now passed down or most likely a combination of both. willow I hope you and your boys have an amazing day. Aw thanks everyone. 🥰 It is truly crazy that they are 5, my little early pandemic babies. enchanted I think currently the terminology is support levels. So like you and others have said, there are absolutely autistic people with significant support needs and cognitive/developmental delays that will never do some of the things he listed, for sure. But also acting like those children’s (well, people’s) lives are not worth living (to RFK, not you of course lol) because they don’t meet certain developmental or social milestones is so gross. Fucking eugenicist troll that he is. |
