Ds took a tumble on the paved walking path at the arboretum and has a nice abrasion-goose egg combination on his forehead. He is currently recovering on a bench with snacks. He seems fine. I feel awful and anxious. There is also a spot of blood on my ergo. Sighs.

Lakes my DS goes back to daycare after every weekend with multiple new bumps, bruises, and scabs. This week's include a blue bruise on his eye and a huge scrape on his side. I just can't keep up with how busy and crazy he is! Fingers crossed he's ok quickly but I know looking at those injuries always induces extra guilt.

I am at work. I do not want to work today.
Here's a fun random about M's new school. They provide all food for the kids including formula and baby food. You can bring in your own bottles of breastmilk or other formula but if you want to send in your own babyfood, you need a doctor's note. I reviewed the meal plan over the phone with my pediatrician this morning so she could fill out M's form and we were both clutching our pearls. It has 4-7 month olds getting 2 servings of baby cereal, 1 fruit, and 1 veggie plus 3 bottles. Then from 8-12 months, in addition to their food, they have 2 bottles and the 3rd bottle is breastmilk, formula, or JUICE! I'm going to email the director about the juice bc that is so opposite of all current guidelines! Luckily the menu is much more balanced once they move to the toddler classes. But I cannot get on board with not controlling what my infant eats.

Oh no Lakes! I'm sorry for the injury - hope he's okay! OMG carrots - that's totally bizarre. Is the place super expensive if they provide all the formula/food? I can't imagine not having control over my infant's diet!

My ute is very unhappy today. Either it's ovulation pain or I'm in for post partum period #1 any day now. Blah. Crampy cramp cramps over here is not thrilled. Does anyone use bands like these to label their daycare stuff? We had a regular label maker that just crapped out (boo). I was thinking of getting these so I could use all my food containers interchangeably between DD and B.

carrots, omg. So, I'd love for our daycare to feed my toddler. What a break it would be to not have to prep lunches for he week. but heccckkkk NO to that infant menu.

My man-cold has downgraded to just a regular stupid summer cold. Hallelu for NyQuil/DayQuil.
Work is a little laid back today as I wait for people to submit deliverable to me (probably late). So, I'm cleaning up emails and files and my calendar.
So, A was SCREAMING bloody murder last night in a way I haven't heard her scream before. No clue why. I did read that DayQuil in breast milk can cause irritability in babes, but holy shit. This was next level.

I can't imagine not having control over my infant's diet! No, it's actually way lower than market for our area because they get a ton of grants and community funding. I think half the students there qualify for "scholarships" that are income based.

I'm so tired, guys. It's taking all I have not to tell customers exactly what I think of them this morning. Trying to do a ton of filing to stay away from person-to-person interactions.

There are a bazillion things I want to do so obviously I'm frozen with indecision and not doing anything. I mean, I'm sitting here nursing the baby which is necessary but not on my to do list. Perhaps I shall add it just so I can cross it off and feel better.
Things I want to do tonight: read my library book, binge watch my show, work on genealogy stuff, sort the kids clothes/get the next size bin out for dd, design the growth chart, get stuff ready for tomorrow's play date, etc etc.

Not that any of that matters now because I will spending my rare double nap vacuuming and mopping the floors because despite mh's spraying the other day, the ants are marching in the front door. Bah humbug.

Lakes, totally feel your pain on the to do list. Today is my day off, but I'm so swamped at work that I feel bad having a day off. I brought stuff home for the first time in months last night because it had to be done. Doing my best to not work today, but tomorrow (also day off) will be spent running errands for work. I'll be sure to take actual days off next week, DNW to get in the habit of bringing work home again. I also need to cook ahead tonight. It worked well last week to cook a bunch of meals ahead so we could just grab when we had no time. Today we had C's 6 mo checkup. She's 15 lbs 13oz and almost 26" long. Seems very middle of the road, but she looks so big!! Her pedi did say that many of her skills are on track with 7+ month olds so that was nice to hear. I'm curious, how many of you taught your baby sign language? I'm really interested in it. I know she understands words so I think she will pick it up well. She knows "sit" "stand" "dog" and "cat" (or at least she looks for the dogs or cats when we say it).

pibblemom, our daycare lady taught our big girl the baby signs for "milk," "food," and "more." That was the extent, but it was helpful. She was closer to maybe 9 months when she used the signs. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

We did it with DD pibblemom. She knew "more" "milk" "all done" "please" "thank you" and maybe a few more. It was helpful, so I should probably start thinking about doing it with B.... ugh. I'm lazy this time around. Sorry second kid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

pibblemom meeeeeeeeeee!! I have found it immensely helpful because ds isn't a talker. He knows around 50. I mostly focused on food related ones, manners, and activities (bath, swing, book, change). He also picked up on animals very quickly and watching him sign owl or fox while he makes the animal noise is adorbs. I use the "Learn ASL" app. ETA: obviously before a year it was mostly milk, eat, more, all done, thank you

Ug. I don't even want to think about the things that need to be done like you're talking about pibblemom! I should probably figure out dinner for the rest of the week too. Sighs. Maybe mh will be agreeable to oatmeal for dinner so I don't have to do anything 😂

We didn't do much sign language. Daycare said they did but he didn't pick it up well. He was using words around a year so I never felt like there was a period where he could have signed but couldn't talk yet. It's always been on my list of things I felt like I could have done better about though.

It's so hard for me to ask for help but especially with my H's family, they are happy to help but never offer so I have to explicitly ask for exactly what I want them to do. It feels uncomfortable but I'm always happy to have the help after I ask. Hope you guys enjoyed your baby-free time! I agree that vacations with kids are NOT relaxing but they can still be fun!

Speaking of tumbles, R fell and hit his head pretty hard on my parents tile tonight. Because he was trying to stand up on the book box. I'm so not ready to be on the lookout for falling because he's trying to stand. Looks like I'll be on baby pull up proofing this week.
