I cant think of a cute thread title. My original idea was silly Tuesday and then tell you all how I sing the "shots, shots, shots" song to K when putting on her socks. I change the words to socks and she looks at me like I'm insane but...
I walked into work and my coworker asked if I talked to daycare since they had called. Turns out she threw up everywhere after I left. She's been off since her pukefest in the car on Sunday. She didnt even want her favorite things for dinner last night. We have an appointment with the pedi at 1pm. She doesn't have a fever but in my family its rare if you have a fever. Hopefully the pedi takes me seriously. She just asked to go night night. What 17month old asks to go to sleep at 9:30am?

I really need to get going this morning. I have the get to the bank and library today, preferably before the boy's nap time, but that would required actually getting them ready to go and I'm not in the mood. I need someone to make me act like an adult today.

Does anyone have experience with febrile seizures?
S scared the shit out of me yesterday and had a seizure. I may have panicked and called 911 and had a whole host of emergency responders at my house. In my defense, he only had a very low grade fever (100.5- had a 103 fever a few months ago with no issues) and had been under other people's care for the past three days and I assumed the worst (he had gotten into something, fell and hit his head too hard, etc).
No one gave me much information as to what to expect in the days after. I know it's unlikely for it to happen again, especially since his fever is gone, but I freak out every time he does something strange, that I normally wouldn't at an eye at.

sheilathetank Like was for the cute socks song. So sorry about your DD! I hope she feels better soon! ETA: birdie No experience with febrile seizures here, but I can only imagine how scary that must have been! I hope everything calms down from here on out - poor you!

It was teething Tuesday for us over here. DS just wanted ice chips and was grabbing at his mouth all day. I wish he would chew on cold/frozen teethers, but that's not his style I guess. He also had a little bit of diarrhea today, which is common for him when he teeths. Can't wait for this to be over with - once these last two molars come in we'll have a full set of baby teeth. Hallelujah!

I'm so sorry you had to deal with this. My son had his first febrile seizure at 9mo. It's so scary and I called 911 also, so you definitely didn't overreact. Unfortunately, these types of seizures are fairly common in kids and most often they will never have another one. I'm sure you experienced him having the tonic clonic movements followed by a 10-15 min postictal state, where it seemed like he was sleeping. After those to phases of the seizure are over, he should go back to normal behavior. My son's seizures have been caused by some type of virus or infection, so follow up with your pedestrian to see if he needs to be on antibiotics. The good news is that these seizures don't affect their growth and development. It's so much scarier for the parents. Feel free to pm me, I'm happy to share our experience with these more. Lots of hugs, it's so hard to watch your LO go through something like this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would have panicked too and called 911 immediately if K had a seizure. I think you reacted completely appropriately given the fact that he had never had that happen before. I'm glad he is ok. Did they have you take him into the ER? Did the pedi say anything? That's crazy that it was for such a low grade fever! ETA: I don't have any experience with seizures in kids, only rabbits. It's similar in how they present, the weird phase after, etc.

We're going on vacation this weekend (Orlando and Disney!) and since we just got back yesterday from visiting my ILs for a week H and I are trying to be very productive over the next few days. We've already run some errands and will be off to the splash pad soon.

My day off today and we have watched some cartoons after sleeping in, then came outside to clean up a bit (Poop patrol etc), I weeded a bunch of my back garden, and filled up her kiddie pool.
Now she is having a Freezie while I drink my iced coffee. It is really hot out today and would have been a good day for the beach, but I need a chill day so all is good!
Also, planning on going to the craft store for supplies later in the afternoon. I saw this little wooden peg family someone made in the drinking thread and DD loves small toys so much so I want to make that.

Decided to go to the local coffee shop and work this morning. It's normally super quiet. This morning two little old men are sitting next to me going over every aspect of their life.
Right now they're discussing their health insurance... and there's a good chance I'm sitting here working on their renewal notices....

Afternoon. We've decided to put our house on the market. so I am trying to clean/purge which is fun with three kids 'helping' and a Dh who doesn't wanna purge shit. I'm frustrated AF. Thankfully Dh is at work so the stuff I get rid of he might not miss.

They've been in there collecting dust since we bought the house 5 years ago but he won't get rid of them.

The pedi says its not her ears of HFM thank fucking god for that. Probably just a virus and we need to give her pedialyte and wait it out. I hate bringing her to the pedi now because she remembers stuff and cries the whole time. Poor kid. Now she's sleeping and I need to get some laundry done.
How much motrin do your give your kids? She didn't see her regular dr. at her 15month and he said to give her 2.5ml. Her dr. today said I can give her 4ml. The motrin website is confusing since it says 1.875ml of the 50mg infant motrin for up to 23 lbs, but the childrens motrin is 100mg and you can give them 5ml after 24lbs. For reference K is 17months and 20lbs.

Is it Friday yet? I've been training one of my new coworkers in my area today and she's been complaining about things not being entirely perfect immediately after a rush. *eyeroll* But I still like her better in there than the other three coworkers who know my section, so I can't complain too much.

sheilathetank, hope she's feeling better! I think the Infant's Motrin is more concentrated - last time we had to give some to DS, I think we still did the 1.875 dosage because we still had the Infant's Motrin, and he was probably right around 23/24/25 lbs a few months ago when we gave it. birdie, that's so scary! Hopefully it was just an isolated incident.

I am dragging today - even though I haven't even gotten home yet, I'm already counting down till bedtime. I didn't get home until around 11 last night, and then despite my efforts to sleep in, DS started whining on the monitor around 6:30. He wound up falling back asleep, but at that point I desperately had to get up to blow my nose, because my congestion yesterday is definitely turning into a cold, so I figured I was up for the day. Pretty sure H will be doing the heavy lifting of bedtime tonight, and I think my bedtime is pretty much going to coincide with DS going to bed.
