It's the final push to close out the year on a good note. What are you doing to finish strong?

Holy December, Batman. I can't believe the year is basically over.
I ran 91 miles and cycled 91.3 miles in November, so a solid month of mileage. I did more strength than the month before, but I still need to work on that more. I also really slacked on water which I need to do better at. I'd also like to drop a couple of pounds and be disciplined at my 4am workouts. Only 25 work days until our next break, which is a full two weeks. I can muscle through.
I started this morning off with 6.3 miles to a 60 minute interval run with Becs and a 10 minute stretch with Robin. Yoga tonight.
I took the kids to the movies last night and ended up eating popcorn and candy, so better at food today too.

I got in W5 D1 of Discover strength. Headed back home in a bit!
This is the first time in years (definitely since 2019) that I’ve consistently done 20-30 minute strength workouts 3 times a week. I’m excited to keep it up!
I ended November with just under 200 miles in the bike and some miles on the tread, plus I think about 13,000 yds in the pool. My goals for December are to keep up with the strength. Bike 250+ miles, and also get in miles on the elliptical/ arc on tired legs. And PT of course.

I’m on track to hit my goal of one million meters on my rower this year. I am thinking over what I want my 2025 goal to be. Maybe a lower meter count, but adding in a minimum number of strength workouts per week.
Does anyone have a goal tracking app they like? I do well when I get meaningless badges and stickers 😛

I finished up November with 148 miles. I’m hoping to end December around 150 miles as well because next week is a planned deload week and then back up to 40 miles/week for the rest of the month. I’ve got a race with half my girls in the middle of the month and I’ll probably be pacing the 6 year old again. Other than that I really do want to try to get some strength in. Maybe I’ll try to commit to once a week. Baby steps.
On deck for today is a 12 mile run. I have the option of doing it all on the treadmill. Yuck. Or doing it in the 2° weather. Also yuck. I think I’m going to end up on the stupid treadmill. I might make some sort of game out of changing the speed/incline to distract my squirrel brain lol. Even when I’m watching a good show on there it’s still never enough to stop me from wondering how much longer.

Do you want a free 60 days and then you can play a few of those to pass the time? They are excellent distractions on the treadmill.

I got great workouts when I was able in November and am ready for Dec, hoping to just stay on track. Made it to my strength development class today and it felt great. Came home and did a 30 min core yoga conditioning w Mariana; it was awesome and I want to do it again. I should be able to attend all my classes this week and lunches are already prepped. dd#1 (16 years old) is really into meal prepping so we have started doing it together on Sundays and it's great. Today we made this- www.ambitiouskitchen.com/greek-turkey-meatballs/I find meatballs reheat really well. We're adding green beans and broccoli instead of the peppers bc those don't reheat as well.

I actually do still have a peloton subscription that I never use but keep telling myself that I will get back to 🙃 I think I get 2 runs a month or something? I probably should have thought of that. I just watched some TV instead. I ended up doing 1.5 miles at 5mph and then bumped it up by 0.10mph every quarter mile after that up to 6mph and did that 3 times total for 12 miles. It worked out pretty well because a quarter of a mile isn’t that long and that’s such a small bump in speed but it kept my brain distracted enough that I was able to finish lol. I really need this cold snap to go away though. Because ommggggg. I don’t want to do this all winter.

30 minute PZE with Denis plus PT for me today. I’m going to try to do the streak to New Year’s challenge on Peloton. That should help keep me accountable this month.

Body pump and 25 min on elliptical this am. Then I came home and had the rest of the most amazing cookie I brought home from Edinburgh. It was inevitable lol. Thankfully I froze the other three. Hope everyone has a great week!

I'm resting today, but did 9 miles yesterday morning and a bit of a strength workout in the evening. I did nothing since last Sunday's long run, except buy another pair of shoes just before leaving town for Thanksgiving (saucony guide 17, to keep a stability shoe in rotation). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'm planning to run in them tomorrow evening for the first time, I also still need to name them. I noticed last night that lots of holiday lights have gone up in the neighborhood so it looks like late evening runs are on the menu again. I am beyond excited.

It got COLD here.
Out today for deadlifts and bench. Both went REALLY well. We have one bar at the gym that has a narrower middle section (probably has a name but idk) and not sure if it was that or just mental or what but I went up in weight on deadlifts with no grip slipping issues. 🎉 I also was able to go up in weight on bench so I’m inching closer to PR’ing both.

Hello.
Much needed rest day for me today. My sleep is so jacked up from break and my body is heavy and tired and sore. I very much needed a day off my legs.
I did a 45 minute yoga flow with Kirra that was very arm intensive. I spent over an hour carrying DS around the tree farm Saturday evening and my biceps and upper back are so sore! This class was a struggle.
I ate a giant cookie at school today. Oops. Otherwise I did fine. Back to running tomorrow!

I did a 10 min walking warm up which i jogged/ran. followed up with a 20 min interval run with olivia, holy hell that lady kicked my butt. that workout is like a 9/10.
Today I am going to try to fit in strength or stretching. No time for running as I have therapy and a few houses to look at. I will get at least a mile walk in though with the dog after dinner!
B: egg and whites with cheese S: hummus and crackers L: ST baked ziti and a small salad S: blueberries and strawberries D: beef tacos with black beans and rice

Totally over indulged in Thai appetizers last night, should be better today. 45 min yoga/pilates/strength class today done and that's all I have time for. Food should be on track. The greek meatballs are delicious so I'm already excited for my lunch. Hope everyone has a great day!

November was great for me. Zero alcohol. I strength trained 5 days per week every week and was successful at progressive overload every week. I know it's not heavy for most but for me, being able to use my 25lb dumbells for shoulder press feels like an accomplishment. I'm choking down all the protein and can see a difference in my physique already. Getting myself psyched up for leg day now!

Stopped working out at all for right now. I had my cervical spine MRI yesterday and waiting on the report. It looks similar to the bulges I had in my lumbar spine but we'll see. Still battling the thumb issue as well.

gallagher get it girl! Shoulder press is *the worst*. Last week was my first week being able to use the barbell and if I’m using dumb bells, 20 lb each side is my max. I’d be over the moon to use 25s!! Progress is progress and don’t sell yourself short of celebrating your accomplishments!

November was nuts for a lot of reasons. My goal for December is to run 3x a week even though it’s a busy month.
I did 7.5km tonight, first run of the week.

Got my report. Three bulging discs, two fairly minor with no compression but one hitting the cord.
