Anyone local have more info about this case? Girl traveling from Hawaii to NY. Has connecting flight in LA. Spotted on a few surveillance cameras and then goes missing. Multiple strange text messages sent to family and friends about someone taking her money and trying to steal her identity. Dad flies out to LA to help look for her then is found dead a few days ago at the bottom of a parking garage from an apparent suicide.

I’ve been following on Reddit. The general consensus seems to be that the LAPD and family have info that they aren’t sharing. I have no idea what to think anymore.

Her ex-boyfriend was traveling with her. They planned the trip before the broke up but decided to go together anyway. They traveled from Hawaii to LAX together but then he went on to NYC and she did not. He’s cooperating.

There’s footage of her at LAX with her bags. But it was two days after the connecting flight so it’s been said the bags went to NYC then back to LAX so she picked them up then?

I believe she also has an Instagram post from LA and was spotted in another video at a music festival near LA. She was with an unknown (to the family) man.

My theories keep changing as more info comes out. First, because of course, I was like she’s dead and the ex-bf put out a hit on her. Then when he was cooperating, I was like, ok well now maybe she just had a mental break from the breakup and she voluntarily skeedaddled. Then the dad died and wtf. I wonder if he was meeting up with someone to pay ransom and they killed him? But then it also says they were estranged so was he behind her death and then felt guilty?

At this point I’m not 100% convinced she is dead. But if she is, was she the one sending the text messages before she went quiet?

I have been binging Scandal and this whole story feels like an episode storyline

I’ve been following along. It’s very strange. There is a lot of info but also I think big chunks are not public.

My best guess right now is that she met with someone she had been talking to online and that person is bad news. Drugs, scam, cult. Idk.

Could be a mental health break but it’s hard to imagine how she wouldn’t have turned up in a hospital by now if that was the case.

I don’t feel like all the trafficking speculation is what’s going on but who knows.

It’s really sad about her dad. I bet the lack of sleep and maybe existing mental health conditions got to him. I feel really badly for her sister.

Who knows if this has any credibility but I saw a TikTok last night insinuating she had joined a cult called Twinrays or something like that that was known for scamming people out of all their money.
Obviously this has zero credibility really but she based that off of Hannah's following list on her TikTok account. the fact that the cult is based in Ashland Oregon near the Redwoods> Hannah had told a relative that she wanted to go to the redwoods. It's all a bit of a stretch but I have been watching a lot of cult documentaries lately so it tracks for me.

This one is confusing.
One of her texts said her identity had been stolen. Have the found anything to that effect? Emptied bank accounts, new accounts opened, anything?
I do feel like the time of the dad's apparent suicide is odd, timing-wise. Also, can you tell the difference between someone who has jumped form a parking structure, slipped off a parking structure and been pushed from a parking structure? I assume distance from the structure would play a part.
Idk, why kill yourself before its even known if your daughter is still alive or not?

I will run with just about anything right now to even begin to explain why she left the airport to begin with. If I were flying with my ex and I'm sitting at the gate waiting for my connecting flight I'm going to notice that he's not there waiting to get on that flight. Whatever sinister thing happened to her didn't just happen by chance, there had to have been a backstory that made her leave the airport. Like get the warrant on her texts already (maybe they have and just aren't sharing yet).

There was discussion of a marriage scheme. She married someone to allow them to enter the US. I have no idea if there is truth to that. Others are saying the entire “disappearance” was staged so they could collect GoFundMe money.

It does seem like many details are known to the family and they were not shared in a timely fashion.

EDIT - shared with the public, I mean. Many were out looking for her while the family hid key facts.

Distance from the structure varies depending whether someone has been pushed/thrown vs falling/jumping. The latter tends to be closer because there's not as much force. In less gruesome terms, think of it like kids on a swim platform. One kid jumping will usually not go as far out into the pool as they would if another kid pushed them into the water.

Seems like the family and police are still telling different versions. Maybe the family can't accept the possibility that she walked away willingly? What about the weird texts? To throw people off her trail?

The dad's death is still so weird.

I am rare to praise the cops but it sounds like they did the right thing by not releasing videos or images of her with anyone in LA. People were all over the guy she was supposedly with on the metro but it sounds like he’s been cooperating with police and is not a suspect. If his image was released who knows what could have happened.
