Today is supposed to be 85° and humid, yet here I am traveling to work with a goddamn space heater in my backpack.

Betweenthelines, I sympathize. I never know what temp my work will be, but it's always uncomfortably warm or freezing. There is no medium and I'm forever in layers.

I got myself out of bed this morning to do a quick 30 minute run so I don't have to worry about getting one in after work in the heat. Feeling good!

My work is always consistently cold. My little heater broke a few weeks ago and I've been trying to just deal with it, but I'm so over the ice cold hands all day long. I hate having to wear sweaters and shit to work in the middle of summer!!!

Good morning ladies..
Definitely in slo-mo after the past few days. The last 4 days have been completely booked and I seriously don't know where the time goes... It's AUGUST!!! My 30th Birthday is in 2 days!! And I have either lunch or dinner plans every day for this entire week. I'm sure I'm forgetting something .. Oi.

Morning. My fitbit crapped out yesterday - and guess who got all the steps in plus a bit of exercise - that's right this girl. Then i ran 2 miles and had about 4 minutes left to go this morning, when my back spasmed between the shoulder blades. now it hurts to breath. this sucks. it was just feeling fine as of this morning. i also took my anti-inflammatory last night so i can't take another until tonight. i really hope i don't need a muscle relaxer because those suckers make me extremely tired. but they are in my purse.

Heading to a little beach near girlonabike today for an annual excursion with my sister, a friend and all the kids. Last year was a bust due to algae blooms so I need to check on conditions and see if it is OK this time! Looks like it will be a nice day. E slept so-so. He consistently has a wake-up about 2 hours after he first goes to sleep. I know for him that is a sign that he isn't getting enough sleep (but since he is refusing naps, I feel like there is no end in sight to the overtiredness....). I've heard of a strategy where you slightly stir the kid before their normal wake up time and that disrupts their sleep pattern and they don't end up having the wake up at all. Has anyone done this? Am I making sense in how I describe it? I think we might try it tonight and see.

easternshoregirl, have fun at the beach! I hope the algae blooms aren't present. I have not heard of that. I also get leery when I'm told to wake a sleeping baby. or disrupt their sleep. C wakes about 3 hours after going down - lately i let him moan and groan and he goes back to sleep. But if i walk in there he wants me to rock him and sing. So going in to disrupt would make me nervous.

So tired. Pest control guy, who will come out next week, said that we really should be vaccuming daily for at least a month. I feel like I'm being spread so thin. Between wanting to make sure I keep the boys busy/entertained, other household duties and now vacuuming daily.... I'm also still not done with laundry by the time I catch up with laundry it's going to be time to wash all the bedding and my bathrooms haven't been cleaned in weeks. They look disgusting and we find the most flea poop in one of them so I really need to clean that one. Plus AF is here this week. I told my H he's going to need to help me with the vacuuming and he doesn't seem thrilled. He seems to think I'm freaking out about our issue and thinks I'm overreacting. Why? Because when he was a kid his parents had them and he Doesn't remember them freaking out. Well guess what. You were a kid. They probably were freaking out but didn't express it because YOU WERE A KID. pretty sure if you ask s1 if I'm freaking out he'd say "no but she's vaccuming a lot" I can't freak out about this around him because he hates bugs. I honestly can't believe he's doing ok. I've told him about this issue but have said they only like animals (which is mostly true).
Anyway, there's my vent. One thing I meant to says was my H and I don't vaccum the same and I don't think he'd do as good of a job.

Busy day, we are meeting a friend at the splash pad today and going on a street car ride in the afternoon. Should be fun. Going to try to get the vacuuming dine before that.

And it happens every.damn.night so we feel like we're not "risking" anything b/c he is going to wake up anyway. It's not so bad when he goes to bed at 7:30 like last night and the wake up is at 9:30 but when he goes to bed at 9 and the wake up is at 11....I'll try anything to get him out of this pattern. His screaming is so loud it wakes me up, and I sleep with ear plugs and he is in his room down the hall...

The flea situation sounds like a nightmare, jedi. I'm sorry you're going through and I hope they're eradicated quickly.

That sounds like a fun day jedi! Enjoy! I think you and H should still alternate days, even if he doesn't do as good a job. Then you only have to do it 15 times (over the course of the month) which seems much more manageable! Is there any literature you can show him to convince him? Often, DH doesn't believe something I say but if I show it to him from a reliable source or someone else tells him, he's all like oh, OK....

No advice easternshoregirl, but I think the method you're describing s at least worth a try. You and E both need some sleep!

I swear our lives should be a sitcom or reality show. H was outside trying to kill bees. He had on goggles and gloves and was trying to attack each one. I'm watching dishes and letting J run around naked after his bath since he had a little bit of a diaper rash. All of a sudden, I hear him grunt and bright green poop is all over my kitchen floor. Cue me screeching, which makes J cry and the dog is trying to get near the poop. I'm trying to hold J and the dog back and pick up the poop and trying to calm J down. It's a madhouse.
He did go down to bed easy enough and slept pretty well. I heard him around 3 am for 5-10 minutes. When he couldn't escape, he laid down on a pillow in the middle of his floor and stayed there until 6:15 this morning. WIN.

OMG, Pizzaslut, that sounds like quite the scene! We are constantly warding off wasps. They drive me crazy b/c they always try to build nests on our front porch, once they even started one between the seat and the cushion of one of the chairs.

We get carpenter bees. They are the absolute worst because they like to get all up in your personal space. They don't bite/sting humans but they seriously enjoy flying as close to your face as they possibly can. But they bore holes in wood (my parents house is all wood) so that's why they're around by us a lot.
We make a game out of them with badminton rackets to kill them. I get great pleasure out of it.

Pizzaslut, I was in the parking lot of publix one day - parked in the back of the lot. I had just put C in his carseat and buckled the top, when a wasp came at me..i'm allergic - i ran around the back of the car. it followed. i ran to the front of the car. it followed. i ran to the other side of the parking lot. it followed. i ran back to car to shut c's door. the entire time i am swatting. i looked like a crazy lady - you know how i know, i had 3 people watching and laughing. i'm all like wasp, wasp! allergic... i still laugh to this day. and i only lt'd for the sleep improvements!
