It's November already the weather-- how cold is it at your house already? We've actually gotten down to 70's during day 40's at night And it rained and poured yesterday! I feel rain here should be a holiday celebration lol
And Nov means getting ready for Thanksgiving. Probably need a dedicated thread for new recipes etc. But thanksgiving! Seems like it was summer just a minute ago Note it was over 100 mere days ago. And I'm so not ready. I have all these things I like to do-- fall cleaning being number 1. That prob should also be a thread too.
To get Ready for election chaos next week thought we might want to talk about random other things in here. Plus I just went ahead and put a rescue anxiety med in with my regular afternoon pills for every day all next week. Sigh

And I have several pumpkins Roasting. What should I make that's easy? Higher protein lesser carbs and using lots of eggs. Hens are giving us 6 or 7 eggs a day!

Yes please to an election free thread. I could use a distraction. Hahaha
We haven’t had any rain in over 30 days I think. And not many fall weather days. It was 78* on Halloween. I walked around in just a tshirt. I mean I’ll take it over the rain, but it felt weird.
DD2 had a stomach bug so she napped off and on yesterday. I put away Halloween decor and put out the few Thanksgiving things I have. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving. Waiting to see if my sister and her crew will be able to come home. Fingers crossed!

Still close to 90 here. I’m ready for cooler weather but I’m not ready for cold cold.
DS1 is ready for cold cold and keeps insisting on wearing jackets and sweaters every day.

We went from heat to ac to heat again this week. We are getting down to the low 40s at night. We're also in a drought. But we've had some insanely pretty fall days lately. It's pitch dark at 545 tho

It's pitch dark at 545 tho We had to turn our a/c on a few times. With the sun coming in our back windows, it was up to 86 in the house. I love having the windows open, but our allergies don’t like it.

It’s been beautiful here. Not too cold most days but some really gorgeous fall days.
I started my November deep cleaning yesterday before I put up my Christmas tree in a few weeks. I love having a clean and fresh house before the holidays.
It was a beautiful day so my sister and I took my niece and DS2 to the zoo. It was such a fun afternoon! DS1 is off to a hockey game with his friends family so is also having a great day!

I wish it was cold. I don’t think we are getting fall this year. It’s still close to 90 and the gulf is getting a hurricane apparently?!

We are in the weird limbo of weather where it's often in the 30's in the morning, and some days it doesn't get past 50, and other days it gets up to 80. Also in need of rain.
I never decorated for Halloween this year (first time ever, my kids are teens and I told them they could do it if they wanted but they never did either). I'm hoping my apathy for decorating doesn't last through the rest of the holidays.

We had a soccer tournament today. In the span of four hours, we went from rain boots and jackets to shorts and hats and then back to hoodies by the end of the last game. Fucking MO strikes again.

It finally feels like fall here but it's going to be 70° again next week.
October has been a whirlwind. My parents came and visited for a week and we're headed to see them and my sister's family this weekend.
We've been making new friends in the area, which feels good.

I went to a plant swap event at the library recently, which was fun, and has renewed my interest in houseplants again. I'm going to try and propagate a few more plants to bring to the next one.

70s here still but hopefully fall by The Weekend
Dd turns 14 Saturday and I can’t believe it
I’m so ready for Thanksgiving. I’m in charge of mashed potatoes for one party because they love my crockpot mashed potatoes. Spoiler alert: I use heavy cream lots of butter and seasoning
I want to find some new recipes but my families usually stick to the same things

I’ve got of my nieces here today. She’s 8 and she’s fully occupying DS2. We’ve got a library class later and then I’ll take them to lunch and a playground. She’s really struggling in school so this afternoon is one on one auntie time to develop a plan to help her succeed.

We also are apparently skipping fall this year. Today is the first time it's rained in over a month, and it's supposed to rain all week.
This is dumb, but I just got an alert that the power is out at my house, and my first thought was that I'm really sick or resetting the clocks at our house...womp womp.

We did Friendsgiving last night bc we're going to be out of the country for Thanksgiving but still wanted the food. It was so fun and our table looked really pretty. Now I want to decorate for Christmas and my kids are pushing back. Why? idk.

Just add a little extra joy. We do have our fun fall decs out for now. I just put away the spooky stuff.

I think we may put our Christmas tree up tonight. It’s been so dreary and meh here. I need something pretty to look at.

I’m so ready for the coziness of our Christmas decorations but I’m holding to my week of Thanksgiving. I have turned hallmark movies though

She'll actually only be here Sunday-Wednesday and is spending the rest with her stepdad, so Christmas will hopefully go up while she's here. She and DS are spending all of Wednesday together. I wonder if I task them with decorations, what my house would look like at the end of it? Could be great. Could be terrible. Could be nothing because they said fuck it lol.
