I did a 20 minute 90’s pop ride with Hannah F just to do something. And then PT. My physical therapist asked me, “how are you… physically?” Because obviously we all know we’re all a mess mentally and emotionally.

Hi.
Yesterday I did Camila's 30 minute reggaeton run, a 10 minute arms and shoulders with RK, and a 5 minute stretch.
This morning I did a 5 minute warm up ride with Hannah F, a 30 minute hip hop ride with Robin, and a 5 minute stretch.
Today is DD2 birthday, she turns 7, my little election day baby. She has requested pizza for dinner, plus we'll have cake and ice cream. Zero fucks given by me on what I eat today.

Went to the gym yesterday to lift, I was dreading a bit because of where I live/normal gym dudes that are usually there are probably MAGA bros. Thankfully it was weirdly empty and I only heard a bit of chatter and not even what they were saying.
Anyway lifting went well, squats are coming along really nicely.
Today I wanted to run by the shore so I drove down and we are definitely off season now 🤣. I ran a mile and then did 5min run/1 min walk intervals. Went just under 4 miles. It was the best run I’ve had in a while thank goodness.

Well I can deadlift again with minimal discomfort (once I switched to a different pair of shoes which is ridiculous but whatever). So that's progress.

4km run home, life is finally calming down and it feels good to get regular runs in again.

I used to come here often but haven't in a long time. I was a bit of a loaf all summer after being super disciplined from Feb to June. I started November motivated to stay consistent and feel great with just a week under my belt. I aim to strength train at least 4x per week, walk 3x per week, avoid alcohol except for special occasions (concerts, weddings, holidays, parties) and eat whole foods primarily. I am eating my weight in grams of protein and started a creatine regimen too. Mu goal is to increase strength and muscle mass while maintaining my weight. I just love coming here and seeing all of the hard work you girls put in! Inspiring ladies!

So that is to say I've been keeping up on running some, mostly 4-5 miles. I missed doing a long run over the weekend (I wanted to get in 8-10 miles but then I didn't). My stupid shins are being a pain and I've been thinking about getting new shoes so I should just do that. I've only got 325ish miles on my main pair and 250ish on my other pair so it seems early? IDK.

Pace targets are on the app now!!!
I rarely take them because I like to pick my classes in advance. I don't have time in my limited workout schedule to waste perusing classes, so this is awesome!

So if they're older than six months then it's time for new ones regardless of miles on them.

The 325ish ones I got around this time last year, the other ones are even older (they're almost like racing flats so I've only done speedwork in them). I've heard the 6 month thing but I wasn't really sure about it. I've been planning on getting fitted too just to see if my feet have changed. I've worn only stability shoes (for running) for the last decade.

My watch had me do a 43 min base run today which equaled out to exactly 4 miles. It didn’t feel as easy as it should have but it’s probably because I’ve had like 6 hours of sleep the last 2 nights combined. That gif sewfi2 posted is also me… 🫠

I've worn only stability shoes (for running) for the last decade. The cushioning in the soles of traditional running shoes compresses over time even when not used and loses some of its support. Getting fitted and getting new shoes might be a good idea. The flats if you're just using for speed work may be fine, I just wouldn't plan to log any long runs on them.

Anyone ever used running diapers? I am not a runner. I hate it with everything in me and avoid it all costs but alas both of my DDs are doing girls on the run and I'm going to be their 5k running buddy. Problem is after having my 4th baby, each footstep coincides with a drip of urine which will leave me completely soaked by the end of the run. I have tried pelvic floor therapy and religiously do kegels with only slight improvement. I could have my older dd or my h run but they really want me to do it. Anyone use or recommend these types of products? If so, how bulky/visbke are they? Do they leak? Any info appreciated Thanks!

It works well!

I did a lunchtime run at work today and boy was it motivational to have a hard stop to get back for a meeting! I ran 4 miles at an 8:30 pace which is WAY faster than I normally run. Do not recommend for the stress, though.

Yesterday was only a short mileish walk before baseball. the day before was zero as I took it off.
Hoping to fit in another hiit run after work today. We have playoffs tonight for my kickball team, game is at 8:30, so late! ugh.

Full body Friday! My favorite! Gonna try and head out to the beach for a 2 mile barefoot walk. I'm gonna be irrationally upset when normal November weather hits. Give me all the sun.

6 miles for me tonight. I felt really great during the first few miles and was at a 10:30ish pace so I decided to push it a bit for the last 2 miles and do a 10K because I knew I could hit a PR. Got it in 1:04:19. I didn’t even get to zone 4 until the last mile 😳 I love this 50° weather, man!

Upper body press today. Remains the worst but maybe making small progress?? Chin ups (assisted) still feeling awesome so Friday lifts aren’t a total drag.

Yesterday I had PT and that was it.
This morning I was up for Wilpers’ 7AM 45 minute PZE and then did Week 2 Day 2 Discover Strength.
Prospect Park has fires and I don’t even live in that part of Brooklyn but can smell it when I open the windows or door. 😞

Morning.
Yesterday was a 30 minute PT tempo run with Becs, 5 minute core with Robin, and a 5 minute stretch with Adrian.
This morning was a 45 minute interval run with Marcel D and a 10 minute stretch with Logan. I need to do yoga tonight.
I ate shitty the last two days. Today is the girl's birthday party and I'm sure we'll bring home left over cake, but otherwise I need to reign it back in.

3 mile zone 2 run for me today. Keeping it nice and easy since tomorrow is long run day. I went to bed at 8:30 last night and slept for 12 hours! I feel like a new woman. This week has been…well. We all know what this week has been. My body needed that.

I just ordered a couple more pairs of Old Navy’s fleece lined leggings. They’re on sale for $26.99. Although with Old Navy I feel like that’s just the price because they always have some “sale”. Anyway. I highly recommend them if you run outside in the winter. I especially love that they have zipper pockets.

Morning.
45 minute metal ride with Charlotte and a 5 minute stretch. Tough ride. Not really my musical genre of choice, but unbeknownst to her, Dr Charlotte is my pelo-wifey, so I couldn't pass up a 45 minute English ride with her.
Yoga tonight. My ILs are coming today to celebrate the girls and they're bringing a gluttonous amount of Olive Garden with them. Blehhhh, November, why do you food so much!?

3000+yd swim. I have to work today, but when I get home I’m going to make a big tofu and veggie curry. I’m very excited for it.

In Normandie for the weekend and did a misty 5k this morning with some cows. Feels good to have a different view than usual, and the run will help offset the 10 pounds of cheese I’m eating this weekend 😂

Today was a 10 mile long run for me. Got it done in 1:47 which is a 10:41 pace. If I kept up that pace for a few more miles that would equal out to a 2:20 half. One of these days I’m just going to casually PR my half marathon time 🤣 I think I can safely say that higher mileage works really well for me. It’s made my running better across all distances and having that extra time just for me each week is really good for me mentally. I’m a little worried about keeping up with it once winter starts wintering but I’ve built the habit and consistency so 🤞

I have injured my foot i think. but i also think it's my hips that are bothered and that is causing my foot to hurt. my body is telling me to stretch more and i plan on listening to it. this morning was 20 mins of yoga.
will try to fit in a light walk this afternoon as my foot won't tolerate running.
happy monday!
