Week of Indigenous People's Day

I know most people are off today. But let's manifest some good news.

I took the week off last week from really being online and feel ready for good news this week too

PDQ: I have an acquaintance on FB who is a businessman and Trumper. Periodically takes pics with T, etc. eye roll. He posted a pic from the plane after the Coachella thing Sat about flying to and from the rally with T. They got served CFA on the plane flying back to Vegas 🤦‍♀️, while people were left at the rally without a ride home. Very cringeworthy all around.

Speaking of signs, the hyper local extremists/racists/misogynists seem to be feeling abandoned a/o conflicted. It is wild to see it play out in their yards.

Apparently the neighbors are part of the neither group. Okay, great, but that truly isn't an option. You will get one or the other. Working class, religious, approaching *current retirement age with health issues. Guess my instinct at keeping them at a distance was spot on.

The extremist guy who makes his own, but put up 2 billboards for Osborne. He pulled those down, leaving the supports, and put his smaller "protect the constitution" sign back up.

More T/V signs appearing around here too, probably just paid off the printer.

WRT the abandoning of the masses in CA, he did that here in 2020. Abandoned people at the airport, pretty sure he was super late too. I recall it being a disaster. People think it won't happen to them, until it does. Please also see everyone he owes money to for work they've done.

HI I don't have anyone to talk to about this other than my sister. My mom, who has always been vehemently anti-tattoo, got a "Christian fish" (you know the one) tattooed on her wrist, to commemorate the burn she got there, in that shape, after asking God for a sign that "the way she votes" (Republican) is the moral and correct thing. 

All I can do is hope that some day she sees that the little voice of doubt that prompted her to ask for a sign in the first place? That was her conscience, actually. And maybe I can convince her that a burn seems like a rebuke. 

But what the fuck. 

She's also never been particularly religious and never been one for signs from God so it's all very, very odd. She didn't even tell ME why she did it, but she told my sister. At least it's not a politician's name, I guess?

I think God needs to give her a sign that they way she votes isn't moral and correct. Not sure he'll do that through a tattoo

I'm anxious but I think that's mostly due to the stakes. It helps that I'm able to actively help out the campaign. I still have 200 postcards to finish in the next week, so crossing fingers my hand can hang in there. 😆

I'm anxious AF. If she loses, I can't wrap my brain around the shit storm we'll be in. She needs to win and it's killing me.

I'm feeling pretty good in my blue bubble in a red state. I don't trust the media or the polls. It's in the media's best interest (for ratings) to totally keep everyone fearful of the outcome.
I think Harris will win, but we are all so traumatized by 2016 that we can't see straight.

The county dems posted that the billboard companies they’ve tried won’t let them advertise any of our candidates or “Yes to 3” (the bodily autonomy amendment). Everything in town is posted for the other side. Some even have some BSC conspiracy shit on them.

DS has started noticing and asked why he’s only seeing No on the “big signs” when we drove by a billboard today. I told him one side was being censored, which is why he needs to learn how to educate himself as he gets older. It’s so disheartening.

We finally put out our Yes sign that the rep-hopeful neighbor left us. We were going to wait until closer to the election (I know it makes us more of a target than a H/W sign) but I’m tired of seeing No all over town.

DS told me after that, that he thinks “some people are just scared of a girl being in charge because it’s different. And that’s silly.” I told him he’s a smart kid. He’s very observant, and I know it’s being talked about at school and it’s flustering him to hear kids say their parents are voting for TFG.

I’m struggling. I was excited when I saw all the Kamala signs. Lately the groups for both parties have been standing on corners and the TFG’s supporters have bigger numbers, so I’ve been down.

But it encouraged me to finish my postcards which go out in the mail tomorrow!

I think we can't discount the Harris Walz supporters who aren't comfortable being openly vocal about their support because TFG's are so unhinged.

I’m just taking it day by day. I switch between pessimism and optimism. I think this feels different than 2016 in a better way but I’m not jinxing this. I’m just staying focused on what I’ve been doing.
I think the media doesn’t get clicks or views if MVP is leading by a lot. They financially benefit from the panic.

Those internal GOP polls of Ohio, Texas senate, and florida are crazy tho. I think there’s a silent wave coming. I think it’s a blue wave but we’ll see.

it's up and down for me. But, I will say the averages for the poles haven't moved much, like maybe 3/10ths a percent. So I'm less worried by polling.

Truly I think she can do it, I just worry about all the bullshit in places like Georgia where until a court overrules them, the state election board can basically prevent certification. So I believe she will have the votes, hut it's a matter of ensuring they are counted and not disenfranchised before she can claim victory.

This is basically where I am. Am I nervous? Absolutely. 2016 will forever linger on my mind and permanently dampen my optimism. But, I think there is an enthusiasm that didn’t exist then and isn’t captured by polls. I just truly believe we have to do everything we can to get people out to vote. If we vote, we win.
