I really only like Nerds gummy clusters now. The occasional Reese’s pumpkins for nostalgia. The rest is all bad and way too sugary for me. Kid me would be horrified.
Mounds/Almond Joy remain the worst of the worst and I’ve been consistent there for like 40 years.

My fourth grade teacher was obsessed with these! She gave them out all the time as prizes. Such a weird thing to be so crazed about, but damn if it hasn't stuck with me for decades now. |

I can't eat any of these things now, but based on my childhood palate, I LOVED candy corns, sugar pumpkins, necco wafers, black jelly beans and all of those things that everyone else hated. I did not like Almond Joy or Mounds. I tried. All that damn coconut got stuck in between my teeth. My kid doesn't like chocolate, so I love when folks have non-chocolate options now.

We toured a candy factory in second grade and the whole tour they promised sweets at the end. It was just Bit O Honey samples and i’m still mad about it. |

These might be fighting words, but Butterfingers! A few years ago they changed the recipe for them, and they went from one of the best candies ever to being blah, and I'm still mad that no one else seems outraged about this and we haven't made them change them back.

I have a sentimental attachment to this candy because my dad used to eat these all the time when I was a kid and would pick out all the orange ones for me because they were the only ones I liked. I don’t know why weird sugar wafers have become a core memory for me. |
