There are definitely posters that can post something fairly benign but still get a massive negative response. Some of it is that poster's history, some is just interpersonal relationships and some of it is 'mob think'. I mean, human interactions can be tough and make it all on a computer screen where tone can be easily misconstrued...we have all seen it happen over and over.

I like the people here. I don't have close relationships here, but I do value you guys. It is sad to see people leave, but I wish them well.

People want us to provide free entertainment - ie get into fights and scrap for hundreds of pages.

Whenever that vibe isn't happening, some "stranger" comes out of the woodwork lamenting it under the guise of being "sad" the board is dying.

No one is stopping anyone from posting. If you're legitimately upset the board is slow, you can post. Get it going again, it's not hard. You might have to put yourself out there a little bit, take some heat. Like many of us have done and are just tired of at this point. 

You just want other people to do the work, and the people you likely have been nasty to are the same ones you expect to get on here and be emotionally ripped apart for your enjoyment.

I've felt left out to dry many a time, and I'm too grown for it to bother anymore so a person who hides behind "I hate conflict" can pass some time on the Internet. It's not the main reason I don't want to post as much, but it sure doesn't inspire it either.

Feeling left out to dry is exactly it. I’ve felt it and it sucks.

I know I’ve said it before to you that I was sorry you felt that way and I think that is what made me say I’m going to post things again and I’m going to say what I want.

Well and I want to be clear, I don't expect people to do that. I don't need backup, I'm a big girl. I have never asked people to come to my defense. I am well aware of my deal.  

But when you see tens of thousands of views on a post that is essentially you getting ripped apart, it's clear what the motive of those views is - entertainment w/o personal stakes on their side. And hearing whining that the board is slow when you naturally remove yourself from that dynamic is a little rich.

And I don't just mean OP, this is a common occurrence. If you want an active community, be active in that community. You can't be upset a board is dying if you don't do anything to breath life into it. And yeah, you might have someone say something mean to you now and again.

I’m just going to reply without tags because this is clearly bothering a lot of people, I didn’t come here posting this thread for any kind of negative entertainment….see previous attempts to join in, not just me, but it’s happened so many times to others, it’s always met with suspicion, which is fine, but the negative Nelly tone that comes with it is not. I won’t be saying who I am or willingly giving out any person details, like STP said a few pages ago, this board isn’t a safe place, the truth is that it never has been, neither here, TCF or TB, this has shown many times, yet it has always been active until recently. Regardless of who I am, It IS sad to see it die after years. I’m going to peace out for a while, I didn’t post for this, but you’re not going to take that answer anyway.

I think a lot of people were anxious and stressed for months on end. It brought out judgement in all directions, which is understandable to me in hindsight, but likely caused festering wounds even today.

Over time I have realized that my posting frequency directly relates to the level of depression and discord going on in my personal life, dating back to my beginnings on TK in 2010. I posted an insane amount there and I think a big part of it was it being an escape from my hell that was my relationship. Then the stress of my trauma after that when I started posting here as my oldest was born and the stress of being a solo parent/parenting a difficult infant. The pandemic and having twins absolutely contributed to my mental health crumbling.

Now I’m 10 months into ketamine treatment and my life is in probably the best place it has ever been, and I think my posting less reflects that. It has nothing to do with not liking anyone here or anything. I post in several dedicated threads/boards still but not nearly like I used to.

I stick to the Blinds and Reading threads. I don't post as much because this summer has been so incredibly busy and TBH no one cares about my daily trips to the baseball fields. And then it goes so long without me posting anything, I feel weird posting about something sad/traumatic that has happened, like I'm doing it just for attention.
