Not much here. N and I just put a couple of hours into my classroom 👎🏻👎🏻 I'll have to go back on my own to do some work since N was more into stuff than "helping". Hard to believe tomorrow is August already. 😢🙁

Took E to her first Nats game yesterday and we had a good time. Nothing other than Monday up in here.

I take public transit to work and I almost passed out during this morning's commute. Bad combination of heat, motion sickness, low blood sugar and someone wearing entirely too much perfume. Not the best start to the week!

BlahBlahGinger, that sucks. I was so glad I transferred jobs before I got KU b/c I would hate to ride the metro pregnant.

kensie5226 it's the worst. Not as bad now that I'm out of first tri, but still not fun. With DS, I made it to about 30 weeks and then started driving to work (it was insanely expensive, but I had no fucks to give at that point). My current office is pretty close to a garage where MH has a decent daily rate pass, so I might be driving even sooner this time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anybody feeling kicks on the outside yet? I'm feeling them inside quite a bit, but I swear I've felt 2 or 3 tiny thumps with my hand on my belly.

My husband has felt about two so far. I'm just over 20 weeks and so surprised by it! Granted I had an anterior placenta last time, so it's kind of like the first time with respect to kicks since it wasn't until about this time or another week before I think I really felt flutters with DD.

Went to spin class at lunch. Giving myself pats on the back every time I go to the gym because I definitely didn't after MS hit when I was pregnant with my daughter. I wonder how long I can keep it up for.
On Friday I asked my doctor when I should plan on going on leave and she said at 28 weeks. I was a little surprised, I was thinking maybe 32 weeks, but if she'll fill out the paperwork for it and my work will pay me then I'm certainly not going to push back. This pregnancy is totally taking its toll on my body. So I told my boss today. And I also told him that I'm probably going to take 7 months off after the babies are here (potentially 9+ months all together). He seemed a little surprised, in a "not trying to appear surprised" way. But my company has a pretty good Maternity Leave policy so I'm definitely going to spend as much time off with my babies as we can manage financially. I'm very curious to see if they bring in a contractor to cover my position while I'm away, divvy up my work, or if they'll place someone in my position and move me to another group when I come back.
Also, I'm currently eating blackberries and just bit into a bad one. So gross.

H is out of town all week for work. My plans are to eat all the things he would judge me for and work on nursery projects.

ldubhawksfan, I've felt a couple, but I have anterior placenta with this guy so mostly it's just the inside feeling.

Outside kicks here, too. I'll get a handful all in a span of 5 minutes, and then none until the next day.
The other morning the kid was going nuts and I had my husband touch - he got a strong one and snatched his hand away, reflexively shouting "Ouch!" - then felt so silly.
Confession: the kicks relieve me, but I can't say I like the feeling of them.

With DD when dh was OOT for a weekend bachelor party, I binged on Scandal and spent 8 hrs making the hand made mobile I wanted (in the nursery pics thread). I fully support your plan!!

I'm freaking hungry already. It's only 10:30. Big problem is that I had a cavity filled and half my mouth is still numb.....,

DH is coming home from a work trip tonight. I have been cleaning out my house like crazy. I have 5 more weeks off then it's back to work and the fall is crazy with the kid's schedules. I realized whatever doesn't get done before school starts is probably not getting done ever. I need to find a corner in this house to put the baby.
Tonight I have 30 minutes to pick up DD from gymnastics and get DS1 to hockey, 26 minutes away.

So far I've made the panels for the crib skirt and started cutting fabric for the quilt blocks. Hopefully tonight I can get more blocks cut and start sewing it all together.

Now that my show is over I have zero excuses to not start decluttering the house, so that's #1 on the agenda this weekend. Starting it, anyway. It won't finish in two days lol. I'm exhausted because I was up late seeing some friends in a different show. Also, I brought leftover lo mein for lunch today but I can already tell it won't be enough, so I'm basically a Hobbit looking for second breakfast. Also, MIL changed her mind and is coming for the shower after all! Yay! And they sent me a basket of Godiva for my birthday. MIL was like "Now you have an excuse to eat it!" And I'm like "No, I definitely didn't need an excuse before. Now I have an excuse to keep H out of it!"

I went and decided on which crib we wanted at babies r us today. And the nice thing was, my MIL told me if we want them to get it for us to let them know. Score!
Also, we test drove a gorgeous 2018 Honda Odyssey. It was amazing. Unfortunately, its $35,000. Yikes. Tomorrow we have an appointment to test drive a new 2017 Toyota Sienna. My H's car is falling apart and is up for inspection at the end of the month. We have to decide quickly if the car is worth repairing and holding off on a new car (we will have some decent money saved as a down payment) or junk the current car and buy a new ridiculously expensive car with less of a down payment. What it costs to fix his current one is a huge deciding factor. It's not worth much and I would hate to put money into it for more than its worth.

Question for you guys - last night I had some very light cramping, like a stretch or pull right below my belly button. It felt firmer than usual, but it wasn't painful or anything. It was infrequent for a few hours, but stopped before I went to bed and it's been fine since. Felt kicks all day so I'm not super worried but will likely call my doc on Monday to double check. Anyone else experienced something like this? I know some cramping is normal but it felt different than ligament pain which is why I'm curious.

I vote normal cakewench. Your skin and uterus are stretching and growing and that's probably what you feel. I get it a lot at night and then notice in the morning that I've gotten bigger. Sometimes my whole stomach becomes rock hard and tight. I wouldn't worry unless you have severe cramping, bleeding, and/or no fetal movement.

cakewench, I have been cramping lately too. My OB said it is normal and is my uterus stretching. It's still a good idea to call your doc and check in, it always helps my peace of mind.

Anyone else experienced something like this? I know some cramping is normal but it felt different than ligament pain which is why I'm curious. It could be the start of Braxton Hicks contractions. I started having them this week. If it happens again, take your thumb and push on your forehead then push on the spot your feeling it in your belly. If they feel the same, that's what it is. Creepy but harmless.

Thanks, ladies! I will still give my doc a call on Monday but glad to know this seems pretty par for the pregnancy course.

We just did the same thing as we knew DH's car was a clunker and would pass smog this time. Plus 2 car seats pushed us forward. Good luck!
