Meal Plan

If your kids are still home, don’t forget to plan breakfast, second breakfast, etc.

I’m over summer food and not ready for fall comfort food.
Also over cooking and these kids devouring it all at lightning speed.

English muffin pizzas, big salad
Hot dogs and summer pasta salad, maybe baked beans
Club sandwiches, fried potatoes
Pork chops, rice pilaf, glazed carrots
Snack dinner

I’m making rice pudding, pumpkin bread, and granola for other odds and ends.

We just got our power back after tornados came through my area on Tuesday. We lost all of our fridge/freezer food. Thankfully I could still grill so we did a lot of food that way last week.

My plan so far is:
Sunday: tomato basil mozzarella flatbreads, cantaloupe
Monday: chicken and steak kebobs with peppers, zucchini from my garden over rice
Tuesday: chicken and steak salads, fruit
Wednesday: grilled cheese on fresh sourdough, homemade tomato soup
Thursday: spaghetti and meatballs, salad

I’ve got to can pickles from my garden cucumbers this week. I also scored some seconds peaches when I went to the farmers market today so I’ll can some peach jam and restock our smoothie pops with them.

DH gets paid on Friday so I can shop again and hopefully get us restocked again. So thankful I had minimal damage!

I'm baking this week: lemon blueberry corn bread, triple chocolate zucchini muffins, and some kind of chocolate chip cookie. I think today will be corn bread, and the muffins & cookies will happen tomorrow. I apparently also was really into potatoes this week, since we're eating them every single day in some form.

Anyway, rest of the week:
SATURDAY: date night (we went for Thai and it was delicious)
SUNDAY: ended up with pizza since we had an unplanned plumbing emergency at MIL's.
MONDAY: coney dogs & tater tots
TUESDAY: fried green tomato BLTs with lemon dill mayo, crispy lemon-feta roasted ptoatoes
WEDNESDAY: chicken tender wraps (with homemade raising canes sauce), fries
THURSDAY: ST filipino pork skewers, roasted potatoes, COTC
FRIDAY: fish sandwiches, coleslaw, fries

Tuesday: beef and bean tacos and rice
Wednesday: salmon, rice, zucchini
Thursday: teriyaki chicken fried rice with broccoli

Tuesday: Thai Basil Curry Chicken (crockpot meal)
Wednesday: Burgers
Thursday: Mexican Quinoa Bowls

We have family visiting this weekend for DS1's birthday, so Friday-Sunday will probably be dinners out or something quick and easy

I made a breakfast casserole yesterday for a few days of breakfasts plus I made pancakes for the kids this morning for the first day of school (they won't eat the breakfast casserole).

Today: Left overs, we have ravioli, stuffed peppers, chicken stew in the fridge and it all needs to be eaten. DS has guitar, so it's our clean out night now.

Wednesday: pumpkin sage barley "risotto" from the Goodful cookbook, with grilled marinated chicken breasts, green beans
Thursday: Ina's chicken and orzo, broccoli, bread machine honey oat rolls
Friday: "Bad day carbonara" from the Goodful cookbook, garlic bread, salad

I am focusing on using up what we have on hand until I can’t do that anymore.

We go back the 22nd and I go between happy and sad. I’m excited to have my quiet house back while I work. I know that I often get told to enjoy that dd wants to talk to me so much at 13 but she talks so much! I’m sad to go back to early mornings and pick ups and homework

Tonight- pizza after meet the teacher
Tomorrow- sheet pan chicken parm
Wednesday- school spirit night at a taco place
Thursday- rotisserie chicken and pasta salad
Friday- picnic style dinner in the green room before DD1s last weekend of shows kicks off!

We went back last week and now it seems like fall to me. We are also having some beautiful weather for this time of year.

I’ve been using this one—I skip the potatoes and make fettuccini with Alfredo sauce on the side instead.

It's our last week before back to school and my oldest leaving for college. I let her pick the menu since she'll be eating dorm food for months.

Last night- nachos
Tonight- lasagna (same sauce over spaghetti for cheese hating DD2 and DD3), salad
Tomorrow- steak tacos, grilled peppers and onions
Wed- leftovers
Thurs- hot dogs, carrot sticks (multiple activities- I'm putting the hot dogs and chili into two separate crockpots. Everyone can eat on their own)
Fri- creamy pesto tortellini, caprese salad
