This is the Waiting to do Something thread posted once a week (usually on Mondays - sometimes not) for those of us that experience long, extended cycles. Whether it's medicated cycles, long (45ish + days) cycles, postpartum/breastfeeding, TTA, on the bench, or something else, this is the place we gather throughout the week to discuss and vent about our slightly unique situation.

Numbers: CD 3, TTC since October 2014 Circumstances: Male factor + irregular ovulation Rants: There was something on my ultrasound, nurse thinks is most likely a fluid filled cyst, but they did a blood test for estradiol. If it comes back that my estrogen is elevated I'll be benched for the month. Raves: I'm so excited to get this started! Ultrasound was this morning. Uterus looked good she said, nice and smooth. Nurse thinks maybe I ovulated right when I started the Provera. So, they did a blood test for estradiol and as long as those results come back ok I start the femara tonight. Monitoring ultrasound scheduled for next Monday morning. No Flame No Shame Questions : I don't have any specific questions, but everything is so new and unknown. QOTW: What is your favorite piece of jewelry besides your engagement ring/wedding set? Bonus points for pics (include wedding set too if you want!). Hard to pick! I'd say my acorn necklace I got for Christmas last year. My husband says if I was an animal I'd be a squirrel since I'm usually up to no good. Bonus is that it unscrews apart so I can put things in the nut!

Finally got my call back from the RE
So, my estradiol level was 59 - she said it was in the gray zone, in terms of starting treatment this cycle.
Since we're monitoring anyways, we decided to go ahead with the femara, and hopefully my one side is good at responding and the cyst doesn't get crazy.
FINGERS CROSSED.

Numbers: n/a
Circumstances: 10.5 months postpartum - still breastfeeding and awaiting my first PP period. Planning to start TFAS in March once DS is 18 months.
Rants: Work is going to absolutely suck this week and my birthday is Friday. Stupid accounting.
Raves: DS learned how to say Mama over the weekend!
No Flame No Shame Questions: Nothing
QOTW: What is your favorite piece of jewelry besides your engagement ring/wedding set? I'm not a big jewelry person. The only thing I wear daily beside my engagement ring and wedding bands is a claddagh ring, which I love. I have a pair of Tahitian black pearl earrings from MH, a charm bracelet with DS's name and DOB from my MIL, and a Ogham (ancient Irish alphabet) necklace with my name on it from my mom that I love, but I only wear those when I go out places.

Sorry the estradiol came back mid-range fatpony, but I'm glad you didn't get benched for this cycle! Good luck and fingers crossed for you!

fatpony I'm so happy that you were able to start Femara, and I hope your cyst doesn't grow. However, your post belongs in the TI/IUI thread, and not in WTDS because you're not waiting for anything outside of the normal treatment timeframe. I really hope this does not come across as rude or anything like that. I am definitely not trying to be rude or mean! Nymeria Yay for DS learning to say mama! That's so exciting! Numbers: 1st month benched after MC Circumstances: TTC #1 x 18 months, then MC with Methotrexate which requires 3 month bench time Rants: I am still easily triggered by movies, people, just about anything really. I would like for that to get better ASAP! Raves: It's August!! The calendar is inching closer to October 14th when I can burn the bench. NFNSQ: Nothing I can think of QOTW: I love my wedding set! H did such a great job picking it out. I have these very simple silver long and slightly curved earrings that thread through my ears. I wear them almost everyday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

orangehibiscus - Triggers should get easier with time, but it was so difficult at first. There's nothing wrong with walking away from whatever is affecting you. Self-preservation is definitely important. And while it should get better with time, the feelings may not completely go away. Saturday is 2 years since we learned about our MMC. I was on the All AL board and clicked on a link to memorial/loss statues and had to close the page and walk away for a bit. I consider myself completely healed and as "over" a loss as you can be, but I was still able to be triggered. I only bring that up to give you a heads up. Yes this immediate time can be really difficult, and yes it will get easier with time, but those feelings may not completely go away. On a positive note, YAY for August and being 1 calendar flip closing to burning the bench!!

Numbers: I haven't really been keeping up with my cycle, so I have until March before I go back for more testing. So 7 months.
Circumstances: Liver disease and enlarged spleen.
Rants: I wish I was seeing progress but I'm really not. It's incredibly frustrating.
Raves: life is slowing down a little now. I'm really excited to have no plans for another 10 days!
No Flame No Shame Questions : anyone have any diet plans or weight loss suggestions for what worked for them?
QOTW: What is your favorite piece of jewelry besides your engagement ring/wedding set? Bonus points for pics (include wedding set too if you want!). A gold necklace that H got me when we miscarried. It says "I love you to the moon and back".

Nymeria those statues were beautiful but it definitely hurt seeing them. I had to close the link and take a deep breath. I hope you are feeling better now.

Numbers: TFAS since holiday season 2015/New Year 2016. Break in Feb/March 2017. Benched starting late April 2017. Circumstances: PCOS, severe asthma Rants: Had a bad pulmonary appointment yesterday. I was told I'm essentially benched for a few more months at the very least, and not to bank on getting off the bench in 2017. I'll pretty much be bouncing between pulmonology, RE, and immunology for the next few weeks while they try to figure out a short term plan for my lungs and then figure out the long-term plan for TTC. I am pretty disappointed that there isn't a more concrete plan and that my lungs aren't cooperating. Raves:I killed it with DH's bday present last weekend and it felt good to see how much he loved all the stuff I spent so much time prepping No Flame No Shame Questions: Do MFMs typically deliver babies too? I saw MFM for some of my care for DS, but still saw my OB and my OB finished out my care did the delivery. Pulmonary said yesterday that I'll need an MFM for the entirety of any future pregnancy, with the hypothetical pregnancy being high risk. I'm new to the area where we live, so does this mean I don't even need to search for an OB/Gyn for the time being, and I can just look for an MFM? QOTW:I don't really wear jewelry aside from my wedding set. I really like it

Radley I'm not focusing on weight loss (I could stand to lose a few, or twenty, pounds), but since I got cleared to work out last month, I've been doing the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body exercise guide and C25k for running. I'm 4 weeks in, feeling stronger, and I think I am starting to look different. If exercise isn't part of your routine, maybe start with slow increases in activity? When I was super skinny and eating well, I used Spark People to track all of my food. It has been a few years since I opened the website or app, but I remember it being a great accountability tool. I like cupcakes too much to do Spark People now. My cupcake intake alone would probably break the app.

sharebear I'm sorry about your lungs. It's so awful not having a timeline. I hope you have a set time soon. To my knowledge MFM do deliver babies. I've heard of them being called in during problems with childbirth so I'm thinking they would handle the delivery when you have been under their care, but you can ask the MFM you find to be sure. I've used C25k, I need to start again. I do exercise 3x a week but diet wise I struggle a lot. I've been drooling over Kayla's bikini body guides for so long but they are just too expensive. Thank you for suggesting Spark People, I'm off to google now lol.
