This probably comes off as a little braggy, but I don’t mean it that way. It’s just one way I celebrated my Leo Spectacular today.
A woman in our neighborhood has a “Little Free Pantry,” like a little free library, but for food.
I went to Aldi and got a cart full of foods I love to stock up the pantry. There were only two bags of dried beans in there before I added my purchases, so it will be appreciated I’m sure.
And then I spent the rest of the day lazing around with my favorite restaurants and lots of Olympics coverage on tv 🇺🇸

My oldest turned 8 on Saturday and then told me that the next 10 days are his “birthday bonanza”.
In case anyone wasn’t sure he was a true Leo. Lol.

We went to a Twins game last night, and I bought a giant frozen margarita served in a strange baseball bat-shaped cup. I announced "It's my birthday week" to my H and my dad when they questioned why I was buying a giant, overpriced, (and actually not all that good) drink. The older ladies sitting behind us thought that was a delightful justification and kept repeating it to themselves. I told them it was the start of the Leo Season, after all. I hope I've inspired some boomers to lean into celebrating their own birthdays to the max! I saw those and *almost* bought one. |

I saw those and *almost* bought one. ha! You didn't really miss out on anything uniquely delicious, but I was very excited to see the vendors selling them! I saw those at the Foo Fighters concert last night. They were a hit because of the heat, before the rain anyway, haha. I didn’t try one but I saw a ton of people around me getting them. |

Today I turn 40, and I’ve been having a really hard time with it. My 40 is the new 80, and I’ve been looking back on my life and all the things I regret or wish I could change. So, instead, my new resolve is to start living life for me, so when the candles actually say 80, I don’t still feel this way. Not very Leo-esque, I know.  |

DD is at sleep away camp and H is on a work trip so I woke up on my 47th birthday with not one other person to take care of and stretched out in my bed in my new house that’s super clean because there is nobody home but me and promptly fell back asleep.
H is back today and will celebrate me properly but for this moment I am enjoying the solitude.

Pumpkinwest happy belated! 🧁 I’ll be 40 on the 6th! I’m not a huge fan of the Kardashians but hate watch their show as background noise..🤣 but one episode Khloe was excited to turn 40 because her life has been a shit show for a while and not at all how she thought it would be..so she was embracing it and excited for a new chapter. I let that stick with me and instead of the dreading it I’ve been excited. It’s hard because as a divorced single parent with zero dating life, in a job I can’t stand I also find it hard not to regret my past and how I ended up here…BUT it can always get better right?? (or so I’m telling myself🤣) So I’m trying to embrace it and buying myself a treat everyday until my bday next week 🥳 Also…I have a girls trip planned this weekend for Key Largo and of course there’s a spot in the Atlantic they are watching. Fingers crossed it doesn’t turn into a hurricane and ruin our trip or hit anywhere at all 😮💨

I remember thinking 40 year olds were so old when I was a kid.
When my dad turned 40 I cut out and painted a bunch of cow posters and put them all over our lawn with a sign that read “Holy cow! D’s 40!!”
