I am getting ads for Reddrop, but have no idea what their products are like. DD1 is headed into 6th grade and we probably only have a year or so left, so looking at getting supplies on hand for her. Will take all the recs

Always has a teen line that I picked up for DD. They seem to be her favorite. In the beginning, I bought a few different ones. Thinner, thicker pads, wings and without for her to decide what she likes best. I also got her some period underwear for night time. She wears those with a pad for extra coverage. (The brand is Nalwort? From Amazon)
My plan was to get a little cosmetic bag for school, but she ended up getting her period over the summer. But she still uses the bag for a few pads and an extra pair of underwear.

Will take all the recs I’m looking into doing the same for my 10 1/2 year old. I’ve been googling what’s in them and plan to put together our own. Here’s what’s on my list so far: Period panties Plastic bag for soiled underwear Wipes Heat pack that sticks to clothes Anything else that’s recommended in this thread

My daughter uses Knix period underwear (we tried quite a few different brands). She will also on occasion wear pads and prefers the Always thin ones without wings. It can be quite a bit of an expense to try multiple options, but I wanted her to be as comfortable as possible so was ok with making the investment. We got her a little zippered bag to carry in her backpack. I also told her about all of the weird stuff that can come with a period - GI issues, heightened emotions, lower back pain, breast tenderness, so that she wouldn't be caught off guard if she experienced similar issues. If you do end up trying period underwear, make sure you get accurate body measurements before you order, I have found they tend to run small.

Kotex has a teen line with much smaller products. My older girls liked those at the beginning so that's what I have stashed away "just in case" for DD3.
We're early bloomers in my house (started between 9 and 11) so DD3 is officially on watch. I really hope- and our ped thinks - that we have another year. Fingers crossed. A pair of black leggings, a change of undies, and a few pads are our standards that live in their backpacks. Both kids used ALL of that stuff at various times.
Now that they are used to their periods- they each carry a pad, a tampon, and a hoodie. They just wrap the hoodie around their waist in the rare event they have a leak.

Oh- and ThermaCare makes a stick on, disposable heat pack specifically for your cycle. Both my older DDs give them good reviews.
We also left pain relievers with the school nurse when they were in middle school.

Dd uses always teen for during the day. She likes them because they are thinner so they are more discreet but absorb well.

I put a DIY period kit in DD1’s backpack this past year (4th grade). I used a small belt bag similar to the Lululemon ones, and put in: a few pads, pair of Knix underwear, and extra stretchy pants/shorts depending on the season- something easily foldable to fit. She is 10.5. I started my period at 11 and am thinking she will be close to that age too because I’m seeing some visible signs.

I put in regular size but thin pads. DD is 5’2” and can wear adult sizes so I think they will be fine. But maybe I will find some smaller ones just in case.

DD’s pedi also recommended leggings or shorts like thatgolfb suggested.

My daughter started this year. She's 10. She tried pads and hated them. We went with period underwear and she's been very happy with them. We tried Thinx first and then switched to just Hanes. She says the Hanes are more comfortable and it's nice for me that it's a cheaper option. I buy them at Target. She takes them off to rinse them out in the shower at night, then I toss them in the washer. You can dry them in the dryer, but that does shorten their lifespan. For nighttime she uses the Rael disposables. She calls those her diapers, but they work well. For school she has a small black bag that fits in the front pocket of her backpack, with a change of period underwear as well as a couple of pads, just in case. I also went ahead and bought her a Knix swimsuit and that has worked well for us as well.

My oldest loves period underwear as well. She uses pads occasionally but mostly the underwear. She keeps pads as a backup in her bag and an extra pair of underwear and shorts/pants.
She just tried the period swimwear as well and loved it! Just an added thought. She uses Knix too. It's her first summer with a period and wasn't feeling ready for a cup or tampons but obviously still wants to swim. She was a little nervous it would leak but they're amazing!

My daughter just had her second period and she’s entering 7th grade. About a year ago I began buying pads, panty liners, and a few pairs of period underwear. I stocked the bathroom closet. I also bought a period swimsuit that looks like a plain black tank in women’s xxs and fits her girls size 12 body well. Last year we packed a small bag with a few pads, wipes, underwear, and black leggings which she carried in her backpack just in case. I was sure to tell her to be generous and share if a friend needed supplies and we’d restock. Her school nurses office is well supplied with menstrual products too.
