How do you buy tickets from someone without getting scammed? If they said they will transfer the tickets via Ticketmaster after you send the $$. Do you pay in full? Pay half or a deposit? What's the protocol here, I've never done this before. It's not someone I know IRL.

You don’t. They can list them for sale on Ticketmaster, so why aren’t they? I wouldn’t trust it if it isn’t someone you know. Sorry.

I do not have personal experience, but I've seen it recommended that you pay via paypal (not friends and family), so that it will be insured if they don't deliver the tickets. Hopefully, someone with personal experience can chime in and confirm.

Use a third party selling site or check for resale tickets on TM. Some artists aren’t allowing ticket exchanges now so the third party sites utilize wallet sharing to bypass this. There’s at least a bit of recourse using these sites if things go wrong. At minimum, if you want to risk it, use PayPal goods and services.

FYI the person (if in fact real) may get pissed and ask you for more money if you use the paypal goods & services because it takes a cut away from what they receive.

Yeah I wouldn't without a meet up in person, or a friend of a friend or other actual connection.

What's the protocol here, I've never done this before. It's not someone I know IRL. Our season tickets are through TM and we sell them directly to friends and family as well as putting them up on TM. For the former, they venmo me in full and then H transfers them through the TM app. For the latter, whomever buys does so through TM using their payment method of choice. If they'll only sell to you direct, it's not worth it. Feels scammy.

i agree - if this is not handled directly through TicketMaster transfer, i wouldn't do it. most resale sites handle all of this for you - anything else seems sketch (unless it's someone you know directly)
