It was back to school after break today and being back to a regular routine was very much welcome.

Our next door neighbors found a stray mom cat with two kittens and my husband says I can't have them, which is probably for the best but also ðŸ˜.

I am beyond excited to report that one of the Swallotail butterfly chrysalises that overwintered with us emerged this morning. My husband was 100% convinced they weren't going to make it but I'm glad I didn't give up on them!

I know sexual harassment training is important. I do. But can we get an updated training session for each year? LOL Watching the same videos from last year is like....yeah.
I get it, though. Consistent messages.

Preteens are hard.
B has always been such a good kid, we are really struggling with this current stage of life.

Consistent messages. We always have the same video for emergency training about how to handle active shooter situations. I hate it, I wish I could opt out.

Here is a funny story for you Yesterday my mechanic husband pulled a nest of baby squirrels out of a car (happens more than you'd think). They were so cute! No hair, closed eyes, little squeaks. Of course I will rescue them! I drove them 45 minutes to our wildlife rehab center to discover that I had just rescued a nest of baby RATS. They were cute though.
So I learned they look really similar but also now I've learned how to tell them apart for next time.

I'm trying to wrap my head around how 20 years ago I never turned down a chance to go out because I was afraid of missing out - but right now I'm trying to decide if I really need to attend a going away party for a former coworker because - do I really need to make the effort if the likelihood of ever seeing this person again is very low?
I accepted the invitation on a Sunday when I was well rested, it was 20 degrees warmer, I was unaware of the road construction situation by the bar, and I had not yet started a really good book. Three days later and I'm thinking having to make small talk sounds like a horrible idea and I should just go put on pajamas and crawl under the covers with said book.

But if I do talk myself back into going do I need to go get a card and or gift first? I'm assuming the normal group coordinated a group gift but I was a b-list guest and was just forwarded the original email invite.

Pretty sure they picked Wednesday because it's an in office day for most of us. If it were a WFH day there'd be no debate. But I worked through lunch which means I could just leave early and pickup sushi for tonight's dinner....

I'm about to lose my mind. It's in our divorce papers that XH picks up half of medical bills. I never ask him, EVER. Now the generic of DS's med is backordered and I'm paying full freight per month, so I had to finally ask for help. His first question was what pharmacy I'm getting it at. This is a controlled substance that we can't just move around without getting the doctor involved. I explained all this and now radio silence, which equates to he's telling his GF what I said because she controls his money now.
OK. Rant over.

Can you go for an hour or will that turn into more? I only say this because we had a party invite I was dreading last Saturday and finally I said we will go for an hour and we ended up staying 3 because we actually were having fun. If construction and stuff makes it to long then I say nope especially on a work night

Dd has had her first real dress code talk at school and she is mad.
Her school does uniforms but they are allowed to pay $2 for dress down Fridays and they just all got told no leggings anymore (they really weren’t supposed to anyway) and that they will be enforcing it.
She had a rant the whole way home today about how it was because they were to tight and were a distraction and how that isn’t their fault maybe the people looking when not asked to look should be in trouble

A friend of mine is struggling to get her XH to pay his half of their son's COBRA coverage she needed while changing jobs. Sounds like y'all's exes have too much in common...
