gingy the dry mouth always gets me too. Hard candy helps but it’s still annoying. You know, it wasn’t as bad last night and I couldn’t figure out why. But I raided my candy stash and ate a bunch of sweet tarts. I bet those helped!

So I had my first infusion yesterday and it was mostly ok, though I wish I hadn't failed the oral med! They pushed some benadryl and steroids before they started the drip. The benadryl made me tired (no surprise, not that I slept better!). I know sore throat is a common side effect, and my throat isn't so much sore as very hoarse- hoping that doesn't last too long. About the time the throat hoarseness started (about the time the infusion finished), my tongue started feeling weird. Not quite a metallic taste, not quite a burnt tongue feeling, but something like that, almost tingly. Does that sound like a red flag for an allergic reaction? I know there is a risk- no rash, my tongue doesn't feel swollen, no trouble breathing etc. I emailed my doctor to check in, but I'm guessing she's just going to go Hm, that's strange, I have no idea.

byjove I would wonder about allergy a bit. But like infusion directly into blood stream? My bil had dialysis and sometimes said it made him taste weird things. Idk what that means

Circling back to ortho again this morning. Started the whole story filled in stuff done to me not in their office si joint injection, piriformis injection by pain dr,botox pelvic floor and pelvic pt. Mentioned no imaging had been done and I have sit bone piriformis and some hip pain. He quickly said we need an mri and sent me on my way. Finally. Doesn't mean they'll find something as hypertonic pelvic floor and piriformis don't usually show on mri. But maybe it will send us in a direction for what to do next.

I can definitely taste stuff when I’m hooked up on an IV. just the thought of it with previous experiences makes me nauseated. It’s etched into my brain. 🤮 I’m sorry. You have my sympathies. For me it’s only been couple to few days. The taste part.

I have my next one in a couple of weeks and then I should switch to monthly! But going on 30 hours and counting.

Finally had my appointment with a neurologist in Boston this week. It was super helpful and I liked the Dr a lot. He wants me to try Emgality which is a monthly injection for migraines and then injectable Sumatriptan when I get one since nothing helps. Of course insurance needs prior authorization for Emgality and the Drs office is dragging ass so I likely won’t get it before I leave for vacation Tuesday. Then the Sumatriptan is on a national back order and I can’t find the dose anywhere. I found another dose nearby and called my new Dr twice to get that one and it’s been crickets. So disappointing. It’s like having a beautiful carrot of relief dangled that keeps moving.
My latest HS cyst also grew back and I need to have it removed but because of the location I need general anesthesia so it’s going to be a process. I am so sick of Drs.

In theory mri of hip Friday 1. Will insurance approve it in time 2. Will it cover my pelvis hip far enough around to determine if there's anything? I asked if I could just get the whole left side of me but they thought that was overkill.
And 3. So if your dr office says they have preauthorizarion for a procedure and you go forward with it, and then insurance denies it because dr office didn't get preauth after all, what the heck is that going to mean I will end up owing? This is my botox in pelvic floor from March. Dr office keeps sending it in and it keeps being denied as not preauth.

In theory the office should cxl/reschedule you if they don't have it in their system but double check. I had to call and get both of mine along with the diagnostic codes when I did lumbar and pelvic MRIs last winter just to make sure.

Mri place always seems to call to reschedule cause preauth not received in time. This time ortho office says it's preauth but I don't believe them.
