DS just got approved on his IEP to use fidgets in the classroom. I am finding a lot on amazon, but they all seem big or noisy. He is in fifth grade, so he needs something small that can fit in his pocket, and quiet as to not disturb other children. Any recommendations?

What type of sensory stimulation helps your DS to focus? My DD does well with tactile things. She uses silly putty and not super gooey slime as fidgets in her classroom. Shes also used a stress ball. Would something like that help?

Would something like that help? He likes things that kind of click, but without the sound. Right now he has something that is a lot like a video game controller, but I wanted a couple of options, since DD (who is also sensory seeking and in the special needs classroom) keeps stealing this one from him. Sometimes while watching tv, he’ll get some of DD’s duplos and just put two together and then take them apart, over and over.

Have you seen Squickies fidget pets? They have a whole variety of them with different fidget mechanisms (each one has several) and many of them are click-y.

I love it, but I want to give him options. Although maybe if I get a different color, both kids can have their own. That won’t stop DD from stealing his though 😂

My DD had a bracelet that she liked. She kind of rolled the beads and clicked them together. It just looked like a bracelet to other kids.
She also liked the "squishy" toppers for pencils.
What about a fidget cube? They can fit in a pocket normally and have something different on each side.

DS1 has one that has like mini gears on one side, switches and stuff like that (and it doesn’t make noise). My boys both like Needo products too. They are more squishy type things though.

Ds’ favorite is an oral medicine syringe and pulls the plunger up and down with his thumb. It’s small and quiet. My husband has adhd as well and keeps a couple lego men in his pocket to play with. He just flips the legs up and down.

My son (10 and in 5th grade) didn't want an obvious fidget, he is very aware of other kids feeling it's not fair he gets one and they don't. I bought him mechanical pencils and he clicks them and then slides the lead back in and finds it very satisfying.

I can’t figure out how to get a share link on my iPad from Amazon - I swear I’m not this incompetent - but the ones we like for clicking are Little Live Pets - Squirkies: 5 Pack.

This is what I was trying to explain DS1 has.
