So Prednisone. It was used as part of our protocol with our first IVF/ICSI in Czech Republic back in 2015, which wasn't successful. Our clinic doesn't ever use it as part of their protocols. But the more I research it, the more I'm wanting to add it in. My GP has been my doctor since I was born, and she's amazing. She's open to new ideas and thinking outside the box. I have an appointment with her a couple weeks prior to when we will be starting our next round of IVF/ICSI in September. Do I ask her about it, and see if she will prescribe it to me so we can use it for our cycle? Or do I not mess with what my RE is doing? (Which is your run of the mill antagonist protocol with Gonal-F/Luveris and eventually adding in Cetrotide). Feel free to tell me if I'm an idiot

My RE has me take it before and right after transfers. I would wait and discuss it with him or her. I had to take doxycycline as well before IVF.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk My problem is that our current clinic doesn't prescribe prednisone as part of treatments. So I'm more wondering if I dare get an RX from my GP for it since I won't get one from my RE. We do doxycycline as well for our antibiotic prior to retrieval.

***grad warning***
I took both prednisone and doxy prior to all my FET's. I'm not sure the reasoning behind it, do you think if you went to your RE with a study or two showing why prednisone is a good idea they might go for it? If not I would probably lean towards getting a script from the GP, when you've been going through this for as long as you have sometimes you have to go with your gut.

I think @laurens927's suggestion of bringing a study to your RE is a good one. I think if you feel that strongly about adding a steroid and your RE isn't willing to try or provide you with an explanation beyond it's just not something that clinic does, I would maybe consider a second opinion.

I wonder why they don't do prednisone, but I wish mine didn't. I guess if you feel it is best for you, go for it.
