First: Leo passed his hearing test!
Yesterday was our fun day. We spent the afternoon at the park picnicing with family. Leo had a blast running and seeing ducks. I can't even remember the last time we had a family bbq at a park. We used to do that all the time growing up. We visited my MIL in the evening. She uh, kind of doesn't like it here. Ooops. I'll be surprised if she makes a month.
Today I have my family over for dinner. I need to clean & get my menu together.

Morning! We've gone to breakfast and picked up a few things at the store afterwards. Now that I'm back to work, I'm slowly picking up supplies for DS's birthday party in two weeks. Where have the last three years gone?
I made an appointment to see my new doctor in a few weeks and I'm hoping to get my Mirena out at some point after that because I'm so over the side effects. I guess it gives DH and I some time to figure out whether to try a different birth control method, NTNP again, or actively TTC #2. We've talked a little bit about having another one, just no actual timeframe for making that happen yet.

Yesterday we had swim class and then spent the day chilling and doing chores. This morning we attempted to go to breakfast. It took two trips and two car seats to get there since K got car sick both times. We walked to the park next to the breakfast place afterwards so she could settle her stomach. Now she is napping and both car seat covers are in the wash. Depending on how she feels after her nap we may attempt to go to a car show.

Science museum yesterday, and I'm sore from squatting so much with E. Whoops. Then H and I went to a couple friend's anniversary party. I actually did really well at beer pong. I don't have good depth perception due to being blind in one eye, but for some reason I'm good at beer pong. A friend accused me of lying to her all these years lol.
E is struggling HARD today. Sleep last night was terrible. I went out to get groceries and I guess she was just screaming her head off so H put her in her crib and she decided to nap almost instantly. Maybe we pushed her too hard yesterday but she seemed fine after her fever last week. Now she has a snotty nose so I'm pretty sure we jumped the gun. But we had made the plans for the science museum for a week :/
If you are ever in Oklahoma City with your kid, our science museum is pretty freaking great.

Today is our last day visiting my inlaws so we're spending the day around their house and will be packing up later this evening. Yesterday was busy with outings, but I always prefer taking the kids out and about when we're here. Tomorrow we plan on hitting the road as soon as the kids wake up and hope to have an uneventful and pleasant 5 hour drive home.

yesterday morning I went for a trail run with a group of friends. It was supposed to be 8 miles. It ended up being over 10 miles, climbing a total of 2,200 feet, and taking 4 hours. I'm a little sore today.
After that I went to a friend's celebration for her newest arrival. Last year she lost twins, one following TTTS surgery, and the surviving twin at 26 wks due to a blood infection probably related to the surgery. She's due next month and this has understandably been a very difficult pregnancy for her, so we wanted to surround her with love and excitement.
Today my brother took LBB to a baseball game. It's our first time alone with BH since he was 2 weeks old! We wanted to do something fun with him, but because he wouldn't nap before LBB left, he ended up sleeping through most of our "special time."

littlelion Bummer to hear about your MIL not liking it in the states. Was there ever a plan to make it a permanent move some day? Either way, I hope she enjoys the rest of her time with you guys, however long that may be! letthewookieewin I was on Mirena for about a year after DS and I hated it. It was nice for my endometriosis and not getting a period, but that was about it. I felt much more like my normal self once it was removed. I wish I had removed it sooner. Once we have this baby in October, DH is getting snipped - I'm so over dealing with birth control. billyhorrible So sorry for what your friend went through, but congrats for her new arrival I think that was really nice of you guys to surround her with love - I'm sure she is having many bittersweet feelings right now. As for me - our weekend went well! DH is on the other side of the world and gets back in 2.5 days. I can't wait. DS has been doing pretty well, but the last 2 nights he has been kind of naughty. Not listening and pushing boundaries. As I'm on modified bedrest, I can't physically get up as much to stop him from doing "off limits things" - so...it's been hard to discipline/parent the way I prefer to. Ugh. It will be nice when DH gets back and can help out in that department. Toddlers.... ETA - fixed words.

Taitai I'm glad I'm not the only one, but I'm sorry you had issues too! I've never done well with hormonal birth control and I'm surprised I talked myself into a Mirena over a Paragard. One of us is definitely getting snipped once we're sure we're done with kids.

Either way, I hope she enjoys the rest of her time with you guys, however long that may be! *snip* ETA - fixed words. That's another twist. She actually got her Visa to be a Resident of the U.S. She found that out when she entered. SIL did not mention it. I guess she wants her mom here. But there's a younger son and the eldest daughter in Mexico too, so it's not like she's alone. Now if she doesn't meet the requirements (live in the U.S x amt of time/year) then she may lose her visa? I don't know. All not very well thought out.
