Hey ladies, I'm hoping you can help me, though I feel like I'm a lost cause. DH and I will never come up with/agree on a name. Sisters are Ry.ann Eliz.abeth, El.sie Jo.ann, Th.ea Lor.raine. (TW: loss). We lost a girl in January before we had named her, and DH wasn't interested in naming after the fact. In my head she was Adelaide. I'm currently 15 weeks, so I have plenty of time, but I feel like I need to pick a name sooner rather than later. Middle names are always family names. We've got Anita, Ann, Ashley, Dellus, Kay, Rae, Tamara and Virginia left as options. I'd like to stay out of the top 150 in an ideal world. The name CANNOT start with a B. What would you put with this sibset? Thanks if you've made it this far and have anything to suggest.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
Of the mns, Anita, Ann, and Tamara are my favorites. My initial thought reading through your girls' names was that a Rose (nn Rosie, maybe) would round out your set nicely. Other ideas: Carys Ann Frances Ann Jane Tamara Arielle Tamara Lenore Ann Maris Ann Noelle Ann Violet Ann Pearl Tamara Juniper Ann Clara Ann Matilda Ann Tabitha Ann Lucinda Ann Johanna Tamara

Thanks ladies! Clara is one of my favorites, but I have reservations with Clara following Thea since the rest of the girls' names sound different. I also like Claire but worry about popularity. Genevieve has also been a strong contender, with a thought of calling her Ginny after my grandma, but Genevieve is so much longer than the other girls.
Other names DH has suggested are Arden, Adele and Harlow, but 🤷🏼♀️. I feel like all the names I really like end with the 'uh' sound or start with E. I like Evelyn and Eleanor, and Amelia, but feel like I can't use them/too popular. And Lucia and Lola. I'm so indecisive and have way too many rules.

I don't think anyone would blink at The.a, Clar.a, Els.ie, and Ry.ann. I think it would actually be more problematic to have Thea, Clara, Elsa, and Rhea (although all of those are actually pretty awesome). Thea and Clara don't really sound THAT much alike. And Clara is utterly gorgeous, much more beautiful than Claire. I agree that Genevieve sounds a bit out of place with the rest. Also suggesting Eve and Sylvie. I don't think re-using a first letter once when you have four kids is really an issue.

I was looking at your names (again) and wanted to mention that Adele, Alice, and Rose have Adelaide connections that make me love them more.

ajetter are you thinking that Clara and Thea sound the same as in almost rhyming? It till me a long time to pick that up so I think think it's an issue however you meant it. If you can get YH on board with Clara I think it goes great with your girls. Clara Rae Clara Tamara Clara Virginia

alwayscheese yes, almost like rhyming. The more I say them the less it bothers me, but all the other three have very different sounding names so I wish there was a name I loved that sounded different.

ajetter I should have proofread my post. I meant I DON'T think it's an issue. so Clara is a good choice until/unless you find something better 😊

A few of your middle names I like more as first names: Tamara Ann/Anita/Rae Virginia Ann/Rae (you could use the nickname Ginny) Ashley Virginia
Other suggestions: Cordelia Ann/Anita Delia Ann/Rae Isla Rae/Ann/Virginia Rosalind Ann/Anita/Kay/Virginia Lydia Ann/Virginia Camille Ashley/Rae Claudia Ann/Virginia Valerie Ann/Anita/Rae/Tamara Vivian Anita/Rae

seamonster thanks for the suggestions. My grandma was Virginia Ann, NN Ginny. I'm not a fan of Virginia so I thought Genevieve Ann was a way to honor her using a name I like. But again, most of the names seem just so.... much with my other girls. We don't use a nick name with any of them. (Except I say El.sie Jo). So it seems really weird to pick a long name or to have a formal given name but go by a nickname. ---- But speaking of nicknames, what are some nickname options for Lorelei? I like the name a lot, but I know a lot of my family would try to come up with a nickname for that one. Trying to guess what that would be before I commit to the name. And my last question, where do you draw the line on popularity? I think there were 66 girls born in KS with the name Claire (or Clara, one of those, can't remember). That's really not that many right? I've always tried to be 150+ on the SS list, but...

Lorelei - Lori or Rory (according to Gilmore Girls)
I'd want to try for Lolly. NNs don't have to make sense, right?
