Instead of whining about weather, can I whine about how much I loathe planning my entire summer in January? I'm in the hell that is coordinating summer camps as childcare for 4 kids while having no idea if we'll even need childcare as STBXH is currently unemployed.
On the bright side I just booked a hard to get Italian cooking class for my friend and I for August, and I have an awesome music festival and a destination concert in August to look forward to. It just felt weird when the website had a countdown that said over 200 days away. People plan their lives this far in advance?! What is this sorcery?

I used to have to plan summer camps this far in advance so I get it. Such a pain. And yes, it seems everything books so early now. I hate it. I am not that forward looking and it seems like when I start planning everything is sold out.

I started feeling sick yesterday. So I tested this morning and I have Covid. I have no idea where I got it since I barely go anywhere. I’m assuming either one of the kids brought it home or my husband did from his trip last week.

We had one warm day on Thursday and now back to cold. I hate the weather here in January and February the most. I don't like 100 degrees but 20 isn't any better. Same strain on the damn grid.

We have a subscription to Brewdog’s non alcoholic beer of the month club. We got our shipment today and the beers all froze and were at various stages of explosion when they got here. 4 six packs of exploded beers. 😱 Thanks for sharing your weather everyone! Oh no, that sucks! I'm remembering when we got a shipment of salt and straw ice cream that MH's company sent us. Only we had no idea it was coming and the person just set it on our porch and didn't even knock on the door. So we woke up to melted ice cream the next day and had to trash it. So sad.

For those of you following my Princess Peach story….. The doctor I work with has been talking to this surgeon that used to work at a specialty hospital and decided to go rogue and start her own mobile surgery business. She has a couple technicians that go with her to local general practice hospitals to perform surgeries we would otherwise send to specialty centers. It’s a little more affordable for things like fracture repairs, ACL tears, etc. Anyway, we met her yesterday and she’s awesome. At the end of our meeting, we asked her to look at Peaches latest X-rays from that left side we were worried would need a surgical procedure to correct. She said that it should definitely have surgery to fix it up a bit for her long-term comfort. I told her that I was currently fostering her and that I was considering adopting her. She told me that the first time we have her come in to do an ACL repair for someone else (or any other surgery) to go ahead and bring Peach in too, and she’ll do her surgery FOR FREE! I cried. This eliminates such a financial burden for both the rescue and myself. Wonderful humans DO exist!

The little girls were supposed to have a gymnastics meet today, but they both woke up with fevers so we’re staying home instead. They both seem totally fine even after their Motrin should have worn off, so I’m hoping it’s just the universe reminding us to chill out and not something worse.

sudsy that made me cry. My little fat cat calico was just here in my lap demanding food and snacks as I was reading and I remembered her as a baby

I’m having a stupid high pain day (thanks frigid temps) but H made some amazing brownies with mint frosting so that’s definitely helping me feel better.

I took DS and two of his friends sledding today and they literally almost died 3 times. 6th grade boys are no joke 🤯

We went to Costco today. That place was insane! They got us on the samples though. I ended up buying tortilla chips, hummus and a triple chocolate pie.

This reminds me of a poem I read a few days ago: Mnemonic Thirty days has September, April, June and November. Unless a leap year is it's fate February has twenty-eight. All the rest have three days more, excepting January, which has six thousand, one hundred and eighty-four. Brian Bilston

My son turned 11 today! He is having a party in a few hours. He has always had a hard time making friends. So much so that he was seeing the counselor at school.
For the party today he was able to invite six people from school. All six RSVPed yes. I seriously cried after the first couple of yeses, and I am so excited for the party now.

I’ve found my perfect bagel recipe: King Arthur cookbook but do the boil from the bread Bible. Yes, my shaping is shit and I need to perfect the baking time, but these taste like legit NYC bagel. I’m so proud!

DD1 had to read a book for ELA. She actually liked the book until the end when the main character dies. She has been devastated since she finished it yesterday. Barely slept last night so I think she is napping now. I have no clue how she is going to work on an essay for this book. I am sympathetic because i am the same way. But ugh. 🙁

Ds2 birthday party was yesterday at the trampoline Park and OMG I was so exhausted afterwards. It went well though. Today I'm on call and it is very cold so we are just chilling at home. I'm finally feeling mostly better after this sickness I got around new years. My ribs are still a little sore but much better. Just in time since I have a gymnastics meet in 2 weeks.
