I’m bi and will be frank, if I’m going down on someone I prefer not to have a mouthful of hair. It’s not a dealbreaker but if asked my preference that would be it. Has nothing at all to do with looking prepubescent, I just don’t like hair in my mouth. I’m not bi and I feel the same lol.

Looking at the history of women shaving, I dont see anything about it being because men want women to look like little girls.

Maybe men shave their beards off because women like the look of little boys.

Looking at the history of women shaving, I dont see anything about it being because men want women to look like little girls. I found an article that said Ancient egyptians- body hair was seen as uncivilized Roman empire- women were encouraged to remove hair to symbolize purity but men were encouraged to be hairy cause it symbolized manhood Middle ages- seen as sex work 80s and 90s- cultural norm due to fashion industry, better cameras, and porn standards Jumped through time a bit. So, there's definitely some sexism and misogyny rooted (pun) in it

i think socks is conflating hair free lady parts vs regular leg/armpit/other shaving. Both are different ballparks. Men tend to be creepers with one vs the other.

And it’s beyond messed up to make that assumption that that’s why women choose to shave.

It is a cultural norm rooted in male preference for pre pubescent features for women. No, not all men are pedophiles. No, not all women choose to shave cause they want to look like children for men. But I wish our culture/society* could move on from the preference to look pre pubescent. *as a whole

So the only reason to shave is to look like a child. Got it.
Let's stop cutting our hair too. Leave it as is. Or should we keep it short if trying to be a child.
Great, now I'm confused.

I shave because it's sterile and I like the taste.
Wait, no. That's wrong too.

I think I'm going to become a person that doesn't shave their armpits. I'm not particularly crunchy, but I just don't really care about the hair there and would rather not have to do anything with it. Armpit hair is the only hair on my body that I like to keep in check and by keep in check I probably shave my underarms one a month. It’s probably been over a year since I shaved my legs. One of the benefits post menopause.

Sexism and misogyny I’ll give you but not that every guy who has that preference is a pedophile. I did not say that. I can tag you in my post if you need to re read. You could have left out the “it looks prepubescent and it’s creepy that society prefers that.” And then maybe your argument itself would be more reasonable.

Maybe because I knew a lot of hippies in Austin but I became more annoyed with the EVERYONE LOOK AT MY HAIRY ARMPITS FUCK MEN, so I’m kind of over the assumption that every woman who shaves does it because we’re trying to please men.

Here’s a mild confession: I’m going overboard on DD’s 13th birthday and I need someone to take my card away from me! We’re doing an overnight sleepover at a local-ish hotel for her and 7 friends. It’s Barbie Movie themed.
I legit CANNOT stop myself from buying stuff for it!

I took a piece of candy from SD20’s stocking because I need something sweet and I removed everything else from the house.
It’s her fault for being too busy/far away to get her Christmas presents.

The amount of 90s stuff I bought for DD’s stuff including vintage candy etc was not small and it gave me joy so I’m no help
