Today was crazy between work and personal stuff so I didn’t get my workout in until just a few hours ago. But so glad I did as my mood was much better afterwards.
- 10 min Glutes & Legs with Callie - 10 min Chest & Back with Callie - 5 min Full Body Stretch with Callie
I love the 10 min “snack-size” workouts. The time flies more than if it were a 20-minute session.

I mean it's all of them, but it's so big with the kids in lifting. Some of the older guys we have help spot at our big meet were looking at them and were like "what fucking year is it?!". Of all the looks that had no business coming back... The mustaches and the damn mullets. My gosh. The mullets are rampant in my middle school. The mustaches probably would be too if they could grow them.

Got in a run at the beginning of my son's practice tonight. I ran .2, walked .05 for a total of 1 mile. It was my first run since Thanksgiving and it went surprisingly well. The cold air and the effort aggravated my lungs though and I've had a cough for the rest of the evening which is annoying. It felt good to run though.
Food was tracked and within macros. I've also been doing well with drinking water instead of coffee and diet soda which were my main liquids over the holiday, so I'm feeling better in general.

Omg so many college men on my campus with these. Especially our fraternity gentlemen. Let’s don’t, thanks. I mean it's all of them, but it's so big with the kids in lifting. Some of the older guys we have help spot at our big meet were looking at them and were like "what fucking year is it?!". Of all the looks that had no business coming back... Can we also discuss the mullet and its glorious return? It's all the rage amongst baseball and hockey kids and I feel a lot of ways about it. The moustaches need to go, like yesterday. No thank you. ETA budders **pointy eye thing**

Morning.
Got up and did a 60 minute interval run with Mariana and a 5 minute stretch. Stupid antibiotics are wrecking my stomach. Two potty hop offs and I've been nauseous after every workout. I'm so over it. Last day of them today, ugh.
My legs weren't really in the mood today and it was work for me to crack 6 miles. So slow. Tonight will be foam rolling and a core focus flow so I can double dip on yoga and my daily core workout.
Food should be fine.

morning. I was up at 3 with the dog who thought it was a good time to chase leaves and to be scared of our own shadows and I had to carry him back inside. Needless to say but I then overslept. Both kids took showers and left me with cold water. omg, i learned that i can't do cold showers. holy hell. lol.
After work I will fit in a 20 min strength and core workout.
Food: B: ST breakfast burrito S: cottage cheese and strawberries L: Fresh Kitchen bowl and getting my bangs trimmed. D: ST turkey taco skillet.

I’m here, doing some walking, but taking it kind of easy. TMI probably, but I have an issue with fibroids. Running aggravates that to the extreme, so I’m taking a break from that for now. I’m having a procedure next week to hopefully take care of that so I’m planning on getting back into it once I’m recovered.

After reading and researching every damn watch that exists, I decided to upgrade my Apple Watch instead of doing a Garmin. The main annoyance is the battery life, but I have a pretty bottom of the line model now and upgraded to a much nicer series 9 (while I can still get one). I think for the type of running I do a lot of the Garmin offerings are overkill and I can supplement with a good training plan that doesn’t live in the watch. I was able to trade in my old Apple Watch too, so that was a $90 discount which isn’t bad.
New watch arrives tomorrow, I’m already excited! Yesterday mine made it from 8am to 9pm before dying. 😑

Happy New Year!
So I gotta share something. I had a Peloton epiphany moment if you will...just five years too late🤣🤣 The last live class I did in 2023 was Rad's strength class, and literally as I was doing it, I realized it's not that I dislike morning workouts altogether, I just don't like doing cardio in the mornings, but strength is totally fine, doable and actually enjoyable. So at that moment I made a goal for myself that in 2024 I will focus more on doing strength in the mornings and my usual walking/cycling classes in the evenings after work as I have always done. There are a lot of strength classes in the mornings and the schedule works for me since I am up at those times anyways.
So with that being said, so far it has been going great, and I just hit my 400th strength milestone this morning in JJ's glutes & legs class. 🙌

Last night was 30 minute glutes and legs with Adrian, 5 minute core with Rad, and 30 minute yoga with Denis.
Today I’m leaving the office early so I can make it home in time for the first night run of 2024 with the Trail Sisters, woo!

I got on the bike today for the first time in a while!
20 minute arms and shoulders with Callie 20 minute low impact ride with Cody
I also reset my PRs which I think will be good going forward.

I did it! I got up before work and did a 20 min recovery ride and 5 min stretch. I remembered my earbuds today and got in a 20 min 2000s walk at work also.

I ran the last two days, so I might just do some upper body strength today and give my legs a rest, or just do a 30 min, low key endurance run of some kind. Yesterday was HIIT and hills and I’m tired. /dear fitness diary

Only a 20 min run with Alex today, then 20 min arms with Callie (and my 5yo 😐) A Crumbl cookie place just opened up here so we tried it today. They’re… fine. I’m not sure I see the hype. If you make the cookies big enough and charge $20 then obviously they're special. Crumbl is ok. Overpriced, fine for a sweet treat if near the one by us, but I'd never go out of my way for one. Insomnia Cookies on the other hand 🤤

To the gym this afternoon. I’m still loving Christmas break. 😴
Deadlift/bench today. Still not feeling 100%. Deadlifts were hard but I hit a PR on bench which is also 50% of my body weight. So that was exciting.

Working on getting things back in line so I'm ready for my meet. I'm supposed to be coming up with something to work on some daily habits but I've been slacking on that. I will have to check some apps, I think that will work better for me than paper.
Getting back to eating "normal" is always such a struggle and I always swear I won't go back off, but here we are again. Slowly getting back to it. Have taken lunch all this week, and only got non-home prepared food once this week. That's a big improvement over the last few weeks.
Workouts are ok. Squats are sorting themselves out now that I fixed my form. Had a little tweak on my right shoulder that we found the cause and have that mostly worked out now. Impacted workouts a little bit but not too bad. Tomorrow is 8 weeks out. Jesus. That snuck up.
