lmao you don’t recall because I was flat out wrong! There are a few blinds about him cheating on his wife, but it sounds like it was also around the time they filed for divorce. There were also a few blinds about him repeatedly hooking up with his ex. Nothing about DV, so I will remove that from my prior post.  Cheating isn't great but could be worse. I'll accept cheating because in Hollywood it's par for the course |

I'm not familiar with Joe Koy's routine, I had never even heard of him until he dated Chelsea Handler (she's an asshole too). I've heard multiple takes on his comedy, apparently it's very specific and he relies heavily on Asian accents. You take away the accent, and his jokes aren't funny. This is just what I've seen on socials. His jokes are about his culture and he mimics his own mother’s Filipino accent. Because that’s how she talks. He actually had a bit about this in the LA Netflix special, saying it’s no different than Jeff Foxworthy using a deep southern accent in his jokes, except that one of them is ok bc it’s “American” and one is not. |

Another article says that the ex pursued the order because she saw red flags when he had too much to drink and doesn't want him to around the kids when drinking. Understandable. But yes it seems they are amicable. |

The joke was way too easy. It’s been said a hundred times, but it was just a dumb joke that’s been made. I think she would have laughed if it was a “oh damn!” joke and the opportunity was there. She’s topical. I don’t think she’s been at an awards show since the NFL buzz. There was an opportunity to make any joke in the world about it and you went with that? Again, I just don’t see the controversy. She didn’t slap him. She didn’t walk out. She just … didn’t laugh at a not funny joke about herself? I feel like some (general some) are eating crackers and looking for a controversy where there wasn’t one. I’ve explained several times there isn’t a controversy with her but with her fans. I have said that if she wants to start going to awards shows outside of MTV she is going to have to get a thicker skin because the jokes will be there. I agree with you that I don't think this joke was misogynistic, just obvious and not funny. I don't agree that she needs to smile to make sure her rabid fans don't freak out. Pretty much all fandoms are terrible. Now, if she had gotten up and said something, then sure, settle down, TayTay--this is to be expected. This is where I am. It was topical but it was also a weak joke. She is shown incessantly on every Chiefs broadcast with her various jacket/sweatshirt/Trav friendship bracelet combo and Brittany Mahomes hanging on her for dear life. This shit comes with the territory, idk what to tell her. Lots of famous couples are the subject of jokes at these events. I mean Harry and Meghan are joked about at every awards show he’ll even the White House dinners etc and they don’t even show up since they were brought up in this conversation. In these threads it is said that they bring it on themselves and shouldn’t cry about things. Entry posts both outward racist and low key racist things about Meghan almost daily even when she doesn’t even fit into the actual blind but I’ve stopped even saying things because when I point shit out I’m to sensitive. It’s stupid and like I said it’s Taylor’s fans that make things a way. And yes I feel weird that the joke that has been said a million times is to old to say now when a BIPOC person says it 🤷♀️ |

I dont think he deserves to be attacked. And the accent comments are out of line. I just think his jokes fell flat in that circumstance but it happens
I dont know much about him but I'm sure he's a good comedian, his name is definitely recognizable and I don't think this will/should be his downfall or anything

If ever anyone needed to touch grass... I do think he dug himself into a hole with the Barbie jokes though. If it had just been the Taylor dig, there wouldn't be so much backlash. He undermined all those women in the first 5 minutes on stage, and it was obvious he didn't even watch the Barbie movie. So he missed the whole point and then doubled down. He looked very out of touch. |

That was Che’s thing - celebs on awards night are not easy targets to make laugh. Which I didn’t consider but yeah…tough crowd. And if the in person audience isn’t laughing then the at home audience is going to pick up on that. And his name is now in everyone’s mouth so I’m sure that met expectations for him. |
